I could have done with some when I tried to grow broccoli and was constantly picking cabbage moth larvae off the plants. The local magpies (Australian variety) weren't interested.

2025-08-13 13:16:01 +0000 UTCYears ago we lived next door to someone who had chickens. Any time we baked something with apples, we'd go dump a bowl of the peels and cores into the hens' enclosure. They went nuts for that stuff. We also would give them grubs we found in our vegetable garden.
