Eight Thousand Rabbit Holes Later…

I’ve hated delaying the demo release so long but it has undergone constant changes. The in-flux state makes it hard to nail down a cut off point and every time I try I find a bunch of stuff I want to replace or modify. The other thing in the back of my mind is that I feel like I am right on the brink of leveling up my art skill and I want to do that right now.

Sentimental Penguin is right as usual, building out the game is kind of pointless if the first part of it isn’t polished and fun.

This is my dilemma. A release is long overdue but then I restart and try to be as critical as possible and there are still portions I don’t like in the early game. For example, Taylor’s male voice. I went to cut off the demo but on my replay it struck me how that voice now sounds low quality. I’ve redone this work multiple times but I’m still not entirely pleased with it. It’s better than it was, I would even say it is good in several areas, but still not at the level I want. It may have to make due. I will leave it as is for now until players can comment on it.

The last thing stopping me is that I can see other artists have nailed down some secret AI magic that I want to make the best game possible and push the visuals to the highest level.

Basically I want three main things from these experiments. Increased animation ability, a high detail overlay to improve the quality of 3D renders, and method to make the html game better.

The experience has been really positive! I have made progress in all three areas. In this post I will show off the results of my attempts to potentially make the html game more spiffy.
