Demo Polish

Howdy!
I am in demo polish mode. I’ve tested multiple fonts and a few cosmetic UI upgrades. I’ve also begun reshooting a lot of the demo’s CG. (I hear the groans, lol) I didn’t want to do this again but I have to and I am already glad that I did. The new art looks much better than the old art. I don’t want the first graphics people see to be the lowest quality in the game.
The past 6 weeks or so I’ve been trying to finish the demo to get as many promotional materials together. This means I have to finalize several elements. These are things that I don’t want to change later or doing so would be disruptive and difficult.
Probably the most important issue today is deciding on Taylor’s female voice. I liked the initial voice but there are two problems with it. The first is quality wise when I picked it, it was in the top of what I’ve found but tech has advanced so now I’d say it’s a ⅘ maybe slightly lower because there is sometimes static that needs to be edited out in post processing. The AI model also has difficulty doing a lot of basic things like laughing. Functionality wise it is probably ⅗.
As I was trying to put together the game’s main trailer I started messing around with other models I picked for other characters. I think there are several that are better than the current voice and a lot less work to edit.
As a side note, what I think will happen in future VNs (not Transfigure) is that eventually there will be options to change the AI filter on the voice files so that you can change the characters to sound how you prefer if you don’t like the defaults. I’ve never seen this feature within a VN before because it would previously take redoing one of the most expensive elements of a VN (voice work) but I expect to see something like this in the next few years.

Note: These samples are not post-processed, so the final quality should be higher. Any artifacts will be reduced, but the fewer, the better.
