Introducing Louise

Howdy.

After a few days of fiddling I finally got Louise's model to an acceptable quality level. She has a lot of tattoos and this created a lot of weird issues clashing with other shells and textures. I was going a bit batty there trying to get everything I wanted to work. I left the Louise model as one of the last to create because I knew it would take a bit of extra effort to get it to look right and her story appears further into the tale so it was lower in priority.

I looked through every tattoo asset I could find and luckily found a decent number to compliment her alternative style.

The aesthetics of the model are inspired by Brody Dalle and Billie Eilish. I like how she turned out! I tried hundreds of variations and this was my favorite. I think I'm fairly hard on myself sometimes so if I think it looks good, I hope you will too. I wonder if Lou has any other piercings? :P

As for the song, I was going to use personal funds to commission Badass Bambi for the game's Louise concert scene. I've long planned this and never shared the idea because it wasn't a certainty and it wasn't a high priority compared to a mountain of other stuff. It also looked like it was going to be expensive and I didn't want to disappoint anyone more than I already do.

New technology is rapidly advancing so this is changing. In a recent experiment where I turned some childhood poetry into songs, I realized some of these creative concepts I've long dreamed about are now possible. So I produced Badass Bambi and edited it with AI. I also think I can improve the song and fix some of the minor lyric misses. Is it cool? Stupid? Let me know!

AI in games is controversial but at this point I don't care as long as I can produce more high quality content as a solo developer. If AI can fill in some of my weaknesses I'd be a fool not to use it because I want to make the best game possible for all of you.

I have the Transfigure script running again (meaning the game actually launches and works) so that's a plus. It is hard to release any builds if I have the game bricked as I do upgrades. I have been focusing mainly on art and misc tasks lately.

I also have appointments for health and business issues so I hope to get as much as I can resolved in the next month. Based on the inexorable tick of time, it looks like the main event release will be either right before or after the Christmas / new year holidays.
