Hi!
It’s time for a progress update for the Transfigure 3D demo. I’ve worked on it for loads of hours this month and did many experiments with different 3D elements like cloth physics. Some of these simulations took up to an hour each and I did many dozens of them plus all the rendering has truly proven the value of the hardware upgrades, saving me probably hundreds of hours already. I think the results look decent too.
I’m still adding CG and polish elements but I finished most of the critical assets today.
My goal is to release the demo for patron comment this weekend.
Now that I have more character assets I tried to sync their quality. Evan had a really plastic look to his skin texture so I changed that plus his initial clothing style. I made, tested, and then redid many of the starting assets so that they had standardized heights and looks. I still have to redo Taylor’s male model ratios so that he is taller (probably not until the next version after the demo) but other than that and a few other minor details the demo is getting closer to completion.
I also changed Mitch’s appearance dramatically to make him more like the html game’s description. He has a more pockmarked skin texture with more wear, a lower (but still high) muscle mass and better contrast coloring. He looks less like a bodybuilder now.
I am currently testing an extra surprise bonus system for the demo using AI to generate the character voices. I am honestly not 100% sure what to do with this. The voices are not professional voice actor level which I would like one day but they might be better than pure text. I could have made an easy demo but I wanted to do the best I could or as close as feasible in the time I have. I probably shouldn’t add anything more complicated to the project but I thought it was cool. I will let patrons vote after the demo and if the results are favorable I will keep it up, if not I will remove them before investing too much. Since the voices can be turned off I don’t see it as having a lot of downside aside from the time and editing involved.
This leads me to another idea I had years ago, and that is to let the community voice the project. If Transfigure is successful I’d love to throw up some cash prizes or compensation and use community voting to narrow down some of the final stylistic choices.
If anyone is interested in doing some voice acting work for the project let me know at fictionbytango@gmail.com
Below are three Taylor Roux voice samples as well as example CG:

Do you like the artistic direction? Excited for the demo? What kind of voice do you imagine Taylor having?
Thank you for your time, money, and patience!
