Tango Fiction and Transfigure Third Year Anniversary

Hey everyone,

Transfigure and Tango Fiction are now over three years old. We’ve come a long way!

Weighing it at a bit under 600,000 words Transfigure is now one of the largest interactive fiction stories of its kind and it is growing every month thanks to the generous patrons and subscribers of Tango Fiction. I only committed to writing about 10,000 words a month so we are way ahead of schedule and that is because of all of you that have encouraged and supported me on the way here.

This month I was again unexpectedly quite busy but I managed to write across many different skews including some of the other game project prototypes. I have no idea when these will be passable to make into a release but I have fleshed out some really cool stories that should span years of telling across several popular genres.

Update wise, there is a smorgasbord of new content coming for Transfigure. I have to bridge and connect a few final scenes and then a lot of stuff should fall into place. I will finish up and do a final editing pass and release before the end of the month. I dedicated a lot of time to working on the update the past two weeks so I am disappointed I don’t have a release ready but it is super close so just bear with me.

I also completed a map to help speed navigation of Transfigure’s giant story arcs (included below) to get a visualization of the content areas. Even I was starting to get lost so the map is a big help. If you mash the right hand side together with the central left hand part the overlap looks a lot like I initially expected it to… A big story tree that has grown tall and is becoming bushier and thick with branches. It is pretty satisfying to see such a big ambitious project come together. I am really proud of this and the amazing community that has grown around it.
