One step back; Two steps forward!
Added 2019-09-26 01:27:17 +0000 UTCHello!
I’ve been quiet lately so here’s a quick status note. An update is nearing completion but I did get slowed down a bit. I just finished redoing some minor work. Even though I am down a few hours, I feel Transfigure has received a big upgrade from an organizational and production standpoint. A reader named Teel did the impossible. They untangled the Spaghetti! Transfigure is now immaculately organized. That is like pulling Excalibur from a stone, or, perhaps more aptly, untangling the Gordian Knot.
If anyone has ever looked at Transfigure in Twine… it is horrifying or WAS. Twine is a good name, it looks like a big ball of mixed up knotted twine. Teel took a big mess and broke it down into all the organized story webs. This saves me so much time it isn’t even funny. One of my inefficiencies has been hunting for various lines that are often crammed together and mixed up. This was entirely my fault and largely a product of my ignorance when first setting things up. Small mistakes build up into big ones so I am glad that issue is solved.
I have wanted to do what Teel did for a while but it represented a very big (and tedious) task that I usually don’t have time left over for after doing all my other monthly commitments. So I lost a small amount of time (all new content is unaffected) but feel I have gained a lot overall with Teel’s contribution. Even tasks like updating the walkthrough should be a bit faster in the future.
So a big thank you to Teel for the great unraveling! Teel has also generously provided me with some other ideas in regards to editing and coding so this should also lead to substantial polish updates as an additional boon. I have a lot of fixes to add over the next month which makes me happy since mistakes I am aware of I can fix. Of particular note are story contradictions. I hate them since they break immersion. An example is text not reflecting earlier decisions.
In regards to the writing side of things, I am not where I wanted to be at this point in the month but that is nothing unusual. I haven't added new content to the game yet but I have a lot of "in progress" work that should allow me to do an update with minimal struggle. I also miscalculated the votes for the Bimbo category, so that got bumped up a bit on the priority list. Any month where I tackle a lot of routes tends to spread me a bit thin. As I often do, I have set aside the last days of the month to write and finish the update. The next six months (what I call my writing “season”) should see a lot of big story upgrades and more rapid updates than the past few months.
Likely inclusions for this update will be Evan, Craig, Bimbo, Brothel, etc plus any other recently mentioned routes. Every single Transfigure character has content in development.
Anyway, I should have something for everyone before the end of the month. Thanks for your patience! Now that fall is here I should have a lot more free time to write saucy stories.

"I promise Transfigure will be a lot better in six months than it is now." ok I will hold you to that ;) Was just making fun take more time make it better than just make it fast
2019-10-02 04:15:49 +0000 UTCI do the best I can. Also there was no promise. I said I should have something for everyone before the end of the month to give a general status update. That is an estimate, not a promise. My estimates aren't usually that accurate since I go by feel. Sometimes it takes me ten hours at the end of the month to finish, others twenty. The only thing I commit to is a 10k update per month quota and I think I am at about 150k/120k yearly quota and it is only October. I only promise what I know I can deliver. Like: I promise Transfigure will be a lot better in six months than it is now. Thanks for the comment, Illmaren. I hope you didn't wear out your f5 key in vain. As I usually do, I will post a comment when I begin my play test as a 2-3 hour heads up for when the release goes live. No promises - but the goal this month is tie up some unfinished business and release .9, .91, and .92 before Halloween. Hopefully I don't disappoint :P
