Status Update

Hi there!

Just a little report to let everyone know things are progressing well. I am always unsure how much to reveal about what I am working on during these updates. It seems a lot of people want incredibly detailed logs like Gate Keeper. Whereas I lean towards somewhat vague updates to not spoil the surprise of upcoming scenes. In general, I want to do more status reports as the Patreon following grows but for now, like with art and other "unnecessary" expenses, I try to focus on writing since the hours are still precious at this stage of the game.

As for progress, the update is over half complete. I added 5k words in game and still have a lot of notes and stories in progress. I am way ahead of were I usually am at this stage. Director Mitsuha has given me fairly free range on certain routes so I am going to include a continuation of the two friends route (together). This path will also show off my newly coded and untested relationship system. The simple idea is that you are assigned values based on your decisions. This system is particularly important for this route because you are trying to get everyone to work together, so if you show too much favor to one friend vs the other, the relationship dynamic may change or shatter. As always, I want players to mix and match and decide their own way to play and then receive an ending that fits with that experience. So this route is about balance - while others may be more about min/maxing your respective scores depending on your goals. The goal for the new code is a simple yet deep system I can use to tailor the player experience.

I also wrote Transfigure's #1 wtf scene... Transfigure can get a bit weird sometimes... this theme will continue... +there is a possible cameo from a patron :P

Other than that, I have new additions for Craig, Evan, Damien and a decent expansion of Fantasia Bloom's story. Oh! And this update introduces 4 (!) new characters. Will Taylor finally get his awkward meeting with his mom? Is Mr. Bell as creepy as his adopted son?

Lots of great stuff coming in the near future. The only problem now is I don't want January's update to be more impressive than Feb's (1 year anniversary) and I now have my work cut out for me. I think next month I am updating Sam no matter what since her story is one of the best and the least developed.
