Transfigure "New Years" aka Late Christmas Update

Hello everyone!

I hope the holidays are treating everyone well!

The new Transfigure update is finally ready and it is a doozy! I stayed up several nights to finish it and I think it was worth it. I apologize for the delay but this update became a bit complex.. In typical Tango fashion, I went overboard with the hours and ambition again this month. Yet luckily December has 31 days so still managed to fulfill all my promises/obligations while still finishing the release this month. This update is pretty sweet, not going to be humble about it :P There are new transformations! And there is sex! (Shocking, I know!) Plus, a large intro chunk of Transfigure Alternative by Lucia87 makes its long awaited debut. This new section of Transfigure took a fair bit of extra time just because it has so many media links, music etc. I also made an effort to add more pictures than usual on the other content. Be warned this content is on the Mitch route so some of the ends are a bit dark… and we’ve only just begun >:)

Overall, I think Lucia did a great job. It is still a lot of work to edit but infinitely easier than starting from scratch. The story is really interesting and well written. The media is tasteful. The only thing I am not completely sold on is a few of the media choices where the models are starkly different.  I wrote in a hair dye line to make it more immersive and fit more of the media choices but it falls a bit short in a couple instances. I am very happy with how it turned out. + learning how to do music and sound effects was neat.

I feel I made decent progress with this update. A lot of the time the stories seem to expand as I write them so sometimes it seems that I am not making as much progress it feels good to get Drew and Taylor over the hump… by humping. A couple Drew endings are now in sight. So that is really exciting because once I finish a couple of them, many endings will start to pour in fairly rapidly as I catch up to the content (endings) I wrote originally. Transfigure isn’t really about the final content per se but I want the conclusions to be varied and satisfying in their own ways. There are a lot of routes and characters so there will be many endings in kind.

For those of you who have played through most of the existing content you will be able to visualize a little bit of what I want Transfigure to evolve into. If you have been around since launch, you have witnessed the project grow immensely. In one more year’s time, I aim for Transfigure to be incomparable with its current form. Whatever internal score you have for my work - it is going to go up a lot in 2019. Brace yourselves for some crazy shit.

Transfigure is going to be awesome and its development is only possible because of people like you.I know I say it a lot but thanks for reading and backing Tango Fiction!!

And yes, for those wondering about the new transformations, I intend both of them to have additional content… oh the possibilities! Transfigure needs more routes, amiright? I would talk more about this but I don’t want to spoil anything. Plus the other blank choices (sort by…options) will be filled in with fan suggestions. So if you have one you really want to see, feel free to suggest it.

Since this is a giant post already and it has been a while…

I also feel I have to mention the Patreon shitstorm, since it affects us indirectly. The timing for all this right in the middle of my best month ever on their site isn’t exactly the greatest. I think they have really placed their creators and patrons into an awkward situation.

In regards to this controversy, I will just say that I am concerned about their policies and for that reason I will set up an alternative as soon as a decent one comes available. There seems to be a few sites like SubscribeStar and soon I am sure many others will pop up. Patreon’s management  don’t seem to realize that I don’t give a shit about Patreon at all- I only care about my fans. They (you) pay me, not Patreon. Patreon is just a payment processing middleman. I have chatted with several other creators and the sentiment seems to be the norm. I think Patreon has made a serious misstep.

For now, most of the development will continue on this page… as it is already established but I am reconsidering something I have dismissed about five times or so- the management of a discord page. I was always concerned it would be redundant and just an extra hassle to update since the management of a growing number of sites and communities is already becoming a significant timesink . I also couldn’t really think of many relevant reasons that a user go there / it be useful to me as a creator. But if we can be purged at any moment for completely arbitrary reasons then the creation of a discord is useful as a backup if nothing else. It will also potentially allow people to submit media for the game and maybe get a few tidbits while engaging in a bit more of a friendly community. It may help with some small collaboration stuff too.

I am still not completely sold on using Discord for Tango Fiction so I will release a poll and let the patrons decide. You folks make an excellent guiding compass.
