Patron Post - 50 Patron Milestone Reached !!

I am amazed there are over fifty people out there that not only like my incomplete stories - but like them enough to give me money.  Wow.

I wanted to talk a bit about you folks - the actual patrons.  I won’t single anyone out specifically but there are lot of interesting things I noticed about the fine folks that have backed Transfigure.

First of all, I noticed many of you support the same projects I do on patreon.  Some examples are Eva Kiss' Good Girls Gone Bad, Sorrow’s Rad Science, and UsagiTripleSix’s Interns of Ecstasy Island.  I have used Patreon for about two full years and have backed a number of projects and artists.  It will probably take a few months of rapid expansion before I earn a net dollar from patreon.  Yet that is the way it should be - I pledged and most of the time got some neat stuff while helping indirectly to create some often really awesome art, games, fiction etc.  I feel the Patreon model works - it is a win for both the public, patrons, and the creator themselves which is a very rare and awesome synergy and one of the reasons I decided to work on creating something instead of just passively consuming.  I still have a few active pledges but many have come and gone - I don’t hold any sort of delusion of control.  It is a patron’s money to do with as they please and edit at will for any reason.  The only thing I would request is if people delete their pledge and there is something realistic I could do to improve, shoot me some feedback especially if it isn't included in the vague default exit survey options.  I will definitely make sure that patrons get value though.  There have been so many times my eyes pop out of my head when I see some of the projects on here getting $10,000 a month for… uh let’s just say “dubious value.”

Yet that isn’t what my patrons have done.  You folk almost exclusively back well written projects and authors like Tufty, Westane, Joe Forest, Brickdoorway, and Splendid Ostrich - these names appear frequently and I would say at least half of patrons back at least one.  In every case a pledger seems to get good value.  I feel like I am in great company!  These are some of the best projects/authors on the site and some of my own favourites!  

Transfigure is also backed by several other great artists/creators that are already very successful on patreon, and across the web.  I am talking very high quality work (they can comment if they want, but I will just let folks speculate wildly)...  That is just so very...humbling... but also an exciting and encouraging sign because it means smart people see the potential - and they can’t visualize all the awesome stuff I have planned!  So that bodes well for the future.  For once I get to the “good stuff” and Transfigure really gets polished up - hopefully there is a large pool of talented artists that would be willing to work on what I think will be one of the best written ...anythings… on patreon, smut or no.  If some of these other so called “projects” can get many thousands per month with poor stories and no content, no soul,  and a few flashy graphics...well let’s see how the opposite approach works :D

Another very cool thing: a very large % of the Tango patrons support only me - that is really flattering.  Especially since a sizable number appears to have registered to patreon just to back me and Transfigure specifically...wow.  That definitely means I am doing something unique/special and I am touched you all can see it too.  I won’t let you down!  

I feel like am at the threshold of making this hobby into a legitimate part time occupation.  Transfigure has clearly had an unusually warm reception and touched a lot of readers so in that respect I am already over-awed with the impact.  It takes so much time and effort to make this kind of stuff but it is totally worth it.  It is thanks to you patrons that Transfigure exists and will be finished...at all.  Thank you for letting me be your smutty da Vinci.
