That I could even take his place as a guru someday if I worked hard enough, even without any affinity with the gods.” Salva lets out a short, biting laugh. More of a scoff than a real chuckle. He lowers his gaze, his eyes flashing with frustration. “But look at him now. He won’t even give me a chance, that damn old fossil.”
