Ranking Taylor Swift's TRACK 5s

We're finally on that RANKING train again, and what better way to start than with track 5s? This is another video that has truly been 💕 a long time coming 💕 and it was a sickening activity for us to do... please forgive us our sins

PLEASE give us your rankings below 🫶

Ranking Taylor Swift's TRACK 5s

Comments

i think cold as you could still be about a real situation! taylor said it's about "the moment you realise someone isn’t at all who you thought they were, and that you’ve been trying to make excuses for someone who doesn’t deserve them. and that some people are just never going to love you"... the latter part to me suggests that it was a yearning/crush/unrequited love situation just like tomg and other songs on the album.

Abigail

A lot of people think that “loml” is more devastating and vulnerable as a Track 5, more so than “So Long, London” and I personally agree with that. That song is probably the most heartbreaking break up song ever written (at least for me). HOWEVER, certain small men do not deserve the honour of being associated with a Taylor Swift Iconic Track 5.

Breezy Bumbles

I love both you girlies but White Horse at the bottom is crazy LOL! One of my faves :,)

Isa

I don’t know if someone else already said this, but on night one of The Eras Tour she said mirrorball was the first song she wrote for Folklore! (If my memory is correct)

Kristy

I really thought this trough and for me it would be 1. So long London 2. my tears ricochet 3. your on your own kid 4. tolerate it 5. how did it end 6. all too well 7. the archer 8. Delicate 9. cold as you 10. all you had to do was stay 11. dear John 12. White Horse

alex

gosh, as a completely unobjective take because I have delicate tattooed on my body LOL, I do have to say I think the vulnerability goes much deeper than just the delicate nature of the relationship. It truly is that transition moment on an album that on the outside has such dark imagery but on the inside is about being afraid someone could not love you because of your outside reputation, and being genuinely shocked they like “you for you”

Ava Jeffs

this felt more of like you deciding which song has qualities of the track 5 and not what are your favorites. also tolerate it is one of the most vulnerable songs and who's to say the song is not about her life. just because she said in 2020 that most of folklore and evermore are fiction doesn't mean it's true. she was expressing her feelings towards joe just disguising it as fiction and that pretty obvious.

Mina Maras

12. Cold as You 11. White Horse 10. Delicate 9. The Archer 8. Dear John 7. All You Had To Do Was Stay 6. All Too Well 5. You're Own Your Kid 4. How Did It End? 3. tolerate it 2. So Long, London 1. my tears ricochet So sorry Bonny love. I love Delicate but so sorry other track fives are superior. So sorry

Destanie Mills

I had the same visceral reaction as Emily when Bonny said So Long London haha

Hannah Rose

Bonny obsessed with your hair and dress here!!! Seeing you rank these was so fun!!

Mavi💖

Okay, its taken me a few days but I finished my ranking. To make this easy on myself, I ranked it 2 ways: my personal favorites in one, and the legitimate best track 5s for the albums in another. Please don't be mad at me for my personal ranking, I really don't know why I don't love So Long London. I love the lyrics, and some of the melodies, but it just isn't a favorite. I appreciate it, and think its great for the album, but it just isn't my song. Best track 5s in concept: 1. My Tears Ricochet 2. You're On Your Own, Kid 3. All Too Well 4. So Long London 5. The Archer 6. How Did it End? 7. Dear John 8. Tolerate It 9. Delicate 10. White Horse 11. All You Had to Do Was Stay 12. Cold As You My personal favorites: 1. You're On Your Own, Kid 2. My Tears Ricochet 3. The Archer 4. How Did It End? 5. Tolerate It 6. All Too Well 7. Cold As You 8. White Horse 9. All You Had to Do Was Stay 10. Dear John 11. Delicate 12. So Long London

Jenny MacRunnel

Tolerate it is extremely vulnerable if we believe it's autobiographical. Especially the details about using her best colours for his portrait and polishing plates and all this domestic shit. Like it's almost embarrassing to admit for someone of her power and stature she would go so far to try to impress this person, and it's kinda for nothing. And can easily imagine Taylor actually doing those things at that time. Also at the time when we thought their relationship is wonderful it was such a crazy thing to admit. So in the vulnerable scale for my it's higher than MTR because we kinda knew already the things explored in MTR even tho it's a super fucked up song too.

Cristina

My ranking: 1. You‘re on your own kid 2. My tears ricochet 3. How did it end? 4. Tolerate it 5. All too well 6. So Long London 7. Delicate 8. The Archer 9. All you had to do was stay 10. Cold as you 11. Dear John 12. White horse

Lena Weinecke

also absolutely yes, How Did It End? is a track 5 😌

Fede 🇮🇹

I'm not a 1989 stan and only really discovered it through the re-recording, so take my opinion with a grain of salt 🙊 but I always think of "Say Don't Go" as the secret track 5 that never was

Fede 🇮🇹

Emily is right! In the long pond sessions Taylor and Jack do say that chronologically tears ricochet is where the album started !

Deborah

My Ranking (Not Being Objective): 1. So Long, London 2. My Tears Ricochet 3. Tolerate It 4. All You Had To Do Was Stay 5. You're On Your Own Kid 6. White Horse 7. Dear John 8. All Too Well (5min) 9. The Archer 10. Delicate 11. Cold As You

Enzo Reis

1. Your on your own kid 2. The archer 3. Delicate 4. Tolerate it 5. My tears ricochet 6. So long Londen 7. All to well 8. How did it end? 9. AYHTDWS 10. Dear John 11. White horse 12. Cold as you I don’t even know what I just typed here. Idk the top 9 is just impossible to rank

Dirk-Jan Gruppen

Your discussion of How Did it End made me think that Taylor herself hasn’t really dug into the breakdown of that relationship with Joe and I think there’s going to be a treasure trove of songs in the future when she finally sits and reflects on all of that and what actually happened.

Courtney

There is a little track 5 Easter egg in the delicate music video so we know she was aware of track 5s back in Rep!

Deborah

Idk how to rank them but so long London is my TOP 1 🥹

Abdullah Alharrasi

1. My Tears Ricochet 2. All Too Well 3. So Long, London 4. You're On Your Own Kid 5. The Archer 6. How Did It End? 7. Delicate 8. All You Had To Do Was Stay 9. Tolerate It 10. Dear John 11. Cold As You 12. White Horse

Amanda Laura

Cecilia Sparke

i love sooooo much the ranking videos omg

Isadora Machado Ferreira

You guys always make me fall back in the with each and every song Taylor as written. I feel like I’m learning about the songs for the first time all over again!!

Emma Butler

Every time one of them said they thought people would be mad at their choice I was worried it would be My Tears Ricochet. I’m glad they both made the correct choice 🤣

underwaterthing

It raining while ranking track 5’s is actually so perfect i cannot!

kenna🪽

I love this video so much! The chats are great! My rankings are different but this was so fun 😃

Nicole

Bonnie! Your hair is absolutely giving in this video

Anna

My Tears Ricochet, So Long London, All To Well are my top 3

Micra

it's a track 5 for me personally

sleepless_dream (Lauren)

as a white horse stan I’m incredibly offended

Keri 🫶🏻

this is me talking about how did it end? i didn’t make that clear hahaha

j🪩

girlies, for some reason, I felt like I needed to rewatch the TTPD reaction and in the beginning Em says one of the key parts of the rollout was “we here by conduct this post mortem” and for her to take that lyric and push it for the main album… it’s an easter egg but also it shows the depth of which she felt that song represents both parts of the album. and i do very much think it needs to be appreciated as a track 5 for that reason

j🪩

Justice for Tolerate It, my number 1

skizzo

I don't know if it's already been said, but Swift acknowledged Track 5s during the rep secret sessions. You can find it on YouTube.

Green Wolf Gaymer

I personally find "I hosted parties and starved my body like I'd be saved by the perfect kiss" to be extremely sad and vulnerable. Feels like a gut punch every time I hear those lyrics. Also, I think that even though fans like us have deciphered My Tears Ricochet as a metaphor for Scott's betrayal, it's told in a way that makes it extremely relatable to anyone who has been betrayed in any kind of relationship.

Meghan Carty

Omg thank you SO much bestie 💜💜

kayla ramoutar

Bestieeee it's the oasis dress from Free People!

Chats & Reacts

So long London is my number 1

Kirsten

Totally agree with this take!!!

Georgia Double

Yes!! Tolerate it! The only thing fictional in that song is the table metaphor that is woven throughout. Shame on all of us for not clocking it the second we realized it was a track five just because it didn't fit our narrative at the time.

Marisa

Totally not your point, but loved this clip! Taylor saying robbers, thieves, and heists being a theme woven through rep. I never noticed how prevelant that is until I heard her say that just now.

Marisa

So excited to see this video and love that My Tears Ricochet was number 1 for both of you. Can't wait to see you rank Track 2s!

TL Chamberlin

same!!! its my favorite song of all time

Ava Demassio

Does anyone else feel like this- how did it end, obviously a track 5 - would have been offended if it was not included - BUT then I don’t really think of each of the other TTPD tracks as there track numbers 🤔🤔🤔 the manuscript obviously perfect closer, but just fathomed > so High school as a track 6 🤯🤯🤯

KC

I was thinking the same thing!!

Amy

As someone whose favorite song is My Tears Ricochet I am elated and relieved it is the top track 5 for both of you--the best song she has ever written imo

Amy

i neeeeed to know where emily's dress is from lol

kayla ramoutar

This is one of the hardest things to do subjectively. I fear my list is very controversial and I’m sure my opinion will change in 5 seconds… Tolerate It My Tears Ricochet All Too Well So Long, London The Archer YOYOK How Did It End? AYHTDWS Cold As You Dear John Delicate White Horse

Lorelei Thorne

In some ways I think I prefer the OG ATW to the 10 min version....the 10 min version feels more personal to her but the OG is so universal I feel like it makes it more cathartic for me

Madeline Grey

The Archer stopped me in my tracks the first time. We had never gotten something so self-aware and honest from her before and maybe haven't since! So underrated

Madeline Grey

i think whats so heartbreaking to me about tolerate it is that it was so vulnerable and so deep inside her, that she had to frame it as if it was fictional until we realized it probably was not. she probably did not even know fully that she related to it until she realized. for me, it makes that song 10x more devastating: the realization that this “fictional” story is actually how she felt.

Joseph Laurite

No I need to separate my list based on this. 1. My favourites 2. Most vulnerable 3. Volnurability/hard hitting/revelation I don’t think vulnerability hits the same if it’s something or and angle she’s already sung about several times and it’s not just about sadness like YOYOK but like Delicate it’s something that is sometimes embarrassing or scary to admit. All three lists end up quite different for me 😅

Hannah

my tears ricochet being y’all’s #1 is sooooo validating bc it IS actually the best one???? i’m actually shocked i thought you guys would rank it lower i’m sooooooooo validated 😂😂 i feel powerful 😂💀

Sierra Sather

1. My tears ricochet 2. So long london 3. The archer 4. YOYOK 5. Tolerate it 6. All too well 7. Dear John 8. How did it end? 9. Delicate 10. Cold as you 11. All you had to do was stay 12. White horse

María José Gutiérrez

Delicate needed to be last on everyone’s list I’m sorry

Samm Delamoneda

As a fearless girlie I’m crying but I understand

Samm Delamoneda

My track 5 ranking: My tears ricochet So long, London How did it end Yoyok All too well The archer Tolerate it Dear John Delicate Cold as you White horse All you had to do was stay

Nele

I've always thought her track 1s introduce you to the world of the album and track 2s are the thesis statement for the album. Like Red, Endgame, Blank Space

Aubrey

ALSO cut to my number 2 "Youre on your own kid, you always have been" AAAAAAAAAAAAAH it kills me.

Elin Saulo

I honestly feel like the Archer is SOOOOOOOO vulnerable. It's more than just "will you love me" it's like "hey, i dont like myself and im a fraud and i feel like youre going to notice that soon and everyone close to me is gonna leave me" like that fear of abandonment cuts into my soul like nothing else. I just cry when i hear the intro. Just this lyric: "All the king's horses, all the king's men Couldn't put me together again 'Cause all of my enemies started out friends Help me hold onto you" Jeeeez, with someone who has abandonment issues and doenst fully trust anyone and have been stabbed way too many times.... i feel that in my core!!! BUUUUUT All Too Well (10 minute version tho) is still the most superior song ever and i love that so much <33333333

Elin Saulo

Honestly, the track five songs are so SO superior and every single one of them makes me cry but when I did the ranking I thought about the most vulnerable to Taylor and then to me. Kinda like Bonnie, which one FUCKED me up the first listen through. 1. The Archer 2. You're On Your Own, Kid 3. All Too Well 4. my tears ricochet 5. tolerate it 6. So Long London 7. Dear John 8. How did it end 9. Delicate 10. All you had to do was stay 11. Cold As You 12. White Horse

Elin Saulo

in a reputation secret session, taylor said: "next we have track 5, I didn’t even do it on purpose. When I finally was like, this is the final tracklist, I was like…oh, I did it again. track 5 is kind of a legendary [...] amongst us.” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N0sMLapsao8

Rodrigo

Thanks Bonny for the discussion on the story telling across albums too. It struck me that 1 to 5 are kind of… this guy doesn’t love me and I’m hurt 8 is of course that btch 6… it’s delicate to tell you I love you 7… can you really love me 9…. You’re just tolerating me 10…. I’m on my own 11… so long 12… how did it end? SUPERIOR!

ton

For me …. all you had to do was Stay is so vulnerable. Begging someone to just stay is so heartfelt and the line “Let me remind you…. This is what you wanted….” Kills me each time. But I can’t possibly rank these songs tbh… super hard

ton

Thank you guys so much, I really enjoyed this vid!

ton

Ranking track 2s is going to be so hard. Track 2s could be considered as superior as track 5s, just without the lore. Like what do you mean track 2s include Champagne Problems, Maroon, Blank Space, Cruel Summer, Sparks Fly, Red, Picture to Burn, etc.

Erin Wyckoff

1. My Tears Ricochet 2. All Too Well 3. Dear John 4. The Archer 5. YOYOK 6. So Long, London 7. Delicate 8. White Horse 9. Tolerate It 10. How Did It End 11. AYHTDWS 12. Cold As You

Abigail Collins

Out of the woods should have been the track 5 that's the my most passionate opinion in the TSCU IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN A TRACK 5

Mona

I've never disagreed more with your rankings, but I understand where y'all are coming from. Still love you both the same, this was very fun and interesting. My ranking is 1. All Too Well 2. my tears ricochet 3. tolerate it 4. So Long London 5. Dear John 6. The Archer 7. You're On Your Own Kid 8. How Did It End 9. White Horse 10. All You Had To Do Was Stay 11. Delicate 12. Cold As You

Ellen Jarrett

shit I didn’t mean to comment already lol. anyways my ranking 1. how did it end 2. my tears ricochet 3. the archer 4. tolerate it 5. dear John 6. you’re on your own kid 7. so long London 8. delicate 9. all too well 10. cold as you 11. white horse 12. AYHTDWS

Lauren

all you have to do is stay is her weakest track 5 and even if some of the songs from debut-speak now were partially fictional I don’t think that takes away from how great they are

Lauren

I personally think that the only song on Red that could have been a track 5 over ATW is The Moment I Knew because I feel like it was SO raw of her to tell us the exact moment that she finally realized that it needed to be over. I also think that it's just such an emotional, beautiful song. It's so good to scream/sing to

Deanna Smith

It’s SUPERIOR. I think seeing it live on the Eras Tour took it to new levels for me with her visually acting out this song and the feelings behind it. Perfection!

Georgia Double

thank you emily for giving me the swear word combo of "shit cunt" that will immediately enter my swearing lexicon!!!

Mitch hansen

finally someone who recognizes tolerate it as the masterpiece it is!!!

Mitch hansen

I don’t know what I would do without your videos. You guys just get Taylor and all the excitement of being a fan more than anyone I know. Another amazing video 💖

Hannah

hmm it's hard but i think it would have to be all you had to do was stay at the very bottom for me, for similar reasons that they shared—a bop and it works for the album, but it doesn't really tell me anything particularly new or reframe the album for me at all. then probably delicate, because I love it and it's vulnerable but I agree with the reasoning in the video about how the verses maybe aren't quite as vulnerable, and some of the anxiety about the relationship comes through in other songs like DWOHT etc as well so it's not *the* song that reframes the album for me. then perhaps cold as you as much as I love it, and after that I have no idea yet!

annie

This activity took me way too long and I have swapped them countless times but I’m so glad to see some similar opinions in the comments 🙈 1. tolerate it 2. So Long, London 3. my tears ricochet 4. How Did It End? 5. Dear John 6. All Too Well 7. You’re on Your Own, Kid 8. The Archer 9. Cold As You 10. White Horse 11. Delicate 12. All You Had To Do Was Stay

Georgia Double

Interesting take! I definitely love this idea. What for you is in the bottom ranking then?

Dara Sofia

Loved this video! I can’t wait for more rankings! How can ranking Taylor songs be so agonizing, but, yet so fun?! My Ranking: 1. All Too Well 2. My Tears Ricochet 3. Cold As You 4. You’re On Your Own, Kid 5. So Long, London 6. Tolerate It 7. The Archer 8. Delicate 9. How Did It End 10. Dear John 11. All You Had To Do Was Stay 12. White Horse

Courtney Ables

My ranking! 1. My tears ricochet 2. So long London 3. How did it end 4. You’re on your own kid 5. All to well 6. Delicate 7. Tolerate it 8. All you had to do was stay 9. The archer 10. White horse 11. Dear John 12. Cold as you

Michelle

wow just started but i already so deeply disagree with the White Horse ranking—hear me out!! yes, part of it is that I just love it as someone who became a fan during Fearless and love that album with my whole heart. BUT I actually think White Horse, while maybe not the most vulnerable track Taylor has ever written, serves as the crux of Fearless in a way that makes it the perfect track five. Fearless is the album of fairytale love!! of Love Story etc! and white horse is the track that adds complexity to the naive, childlike, fairytale view of love that is in other songs on the album by taking the fairytale trope of prince charming coming in with a white horse and then subverting it. it's perfect IMO, and while it wouldn't be in my top 3 or prob even top 5 bc track 5s are so superior, it deserves SO much more than last place and i will die on that hill!!

annie

When you get halfway through this video and understand why they put it behind the paywall 😅😅 Aka I’m with Bonnie

Monique New

Something that may make y'all fathom White Horse a little bit more: I actually think that You're On Your Own, Kid retroactively amplifies the pain and vulnerability of White Horse in the same way that Would've Could've Should've does for Dear John. In YOYOK, Taylor traces the journey she took from leaving her small town and setting off to make her dreams come true in Nashville, and all the pain and tumultuous chaos that came afterward. Up until the final chorus of YOYOK, the song is about Taylor pinning all of her hopes and dreams on the image of small town fairytale true love, only to eventually come to realize that these boys don't really love her, and that her true calling is in songwriting and performing. In conjunction with this narrative, White Horse essentially becomes Fearless's own "The Moment I Knew." White Horse is Taylor in the exact moment where she realizes that the "one who could make her stay" never actually cared. He "loves her not." So finally, she begins to chase her dream of "getting out," she "calls a taxi to take her there" to the big city, and both this boy and the town of her past are "in the rearview mirror disappearing now." It's true that a song like Fifteen traces a similar sort of narrative (and is actually even more impactful years on, as it serves as both a recollection and a prophecy of its own), and songs like Forever & Always and You're Not Sorry pack more of a painful punch, but I think that White Horse is absolutely a vulnerable and reflective track 5. Especially when you also consider "track 5" not quite being a conscious thing at this time, and how White Horse on its own still builds perfectly off of and finally concludes the fairytale wistfulness explored in the opening songs of the album.

angel

I think tolerate it’ vulnerability comes in the end when you believe she is going to leave him but then she can’t or won’t. “I sit and watch you”. Despite know this relationship is a dagger, a weight pushing her down, a prison; she still waits for his approval. She admits to us and herself she is not ready to let go. She can’t yet let herself be celebrated. Knowing she kept watching, waiting, for 3 more years is so painful. she held on with her “white knuckle dying grip” to a love that made her feel invisible. She could not remove the knife. The same feelings are in hoax, bejeweled, fresh out the slammer, and you’re losing me…etc. I think not having context before hand made it hard to see her vulnerability, but I think it’s crystal clear now that the book Rebeca was just a vehicle like windy to explore her feelings. I don’t think it’s the number 1 track 5, but I think it’s more heartbreaking now after TTPD. Also she says in the Zane lowe interview that it’s “A song about trying to love someone ambivalent”; ambivalent means uncertain. “Every breath feels like rarest air, When you're not sure if he wants to be there”?!!? “Do something, babe, say something "Lose something, babe, risk something”?

Krispy

Tolerate it is still my number 1. I think the part you are not taking into account for tolerate it, is that it is not just about the end of a relationship. When you are financially reliant on you partner, ending a relationship is also ending your financial stability. It is the feeling of being stuck, in a situation you are realizing is not healthy, but not knowing how you will make it on your own.

Hanne Wilhelm

1. The Archer 2. You’re on your own, kid 3. my tears ricochet 4. So Long, London 5. All Too Well 6. How Did It End? 7. tolerate it 8. Delicate 9. Dear John 10. All You Had To Do Was Stay 11. White Horse 12. Cold As You

lilymae

I ✨love✨ this video, it definitely did make me think of some of the songs differently but I ultimately land at 1.) ATW 2.) So Long London 3.) My Tears Ricochet The deciding factor for some of these for me was “what was the most devastating/standout line” and still to this day I cannot shake “I’d like to be my old self again but I’m still trying to find it” and I’m the same damn age as Taylor. And as soon as I heard SLL’s “and I'm pissed off you let me give you all that youth for free” I knew in my bones it’d be the same. Would love in future rankings to hear about your favorite lines/initial reactions to the songs (for those we haven’t seen haha)

KC

I feel weirdly mixed on the double album thing. Like, when people rank albums and separate ttpd and the anthology I'm like ??? Absolutely not what. That's one album But also, I do think The Anthology has its own track order. How did it end? Is a track 5. The manuscript is a closer. The black dog is an opener Idk it's all vibes based I guess!!

Hayden Brice

1 tolerate it 2 All Too Well 3 my tears ricochet 4 Dear John 5 You're On Your Own, Kid 6 So Long, London 7 How did it end 8 Cold As You 9 The Archer 10 Delicate 11 White Horse 12 All You Had To Do Was Stay MY RANKINGS !!!

harriet!!!!!!!

YES! Emotional core + narrative force + vulnerability for me.

Lauren

I don’t think of a track 5 as a sad song. I think of a track 5 as the narrative force / emotional core of the album. It’s why I stand 10 toes down on YOYOK.

Lauren

my ranking of track 5’s! 1. You’re On Your Own, Kid 2. The Archer 3. my tears ricochet 4. All Too Well 5. So Long, London 6. tolerate it 7. Dear John 8. How Did It End? 9. All You Had To Do Was Stay 10. Delicate 11. White Horse 12. Cold as You

Imagine

1. Tolerate it 2. My tears ricochet 3. All too well 4. You’re on your own kid 5. Delicate 6. All you had to do was stay 7. How did it end 8. So long London 9. Dear John 10. White horse 11. The archer 12. Cold as you

Shardae Mcphearson

My ranking based on how impacted i felt when i listened to it for the first time and how i still feel when I listen to it- 1. My tears ricochet 2. So long london 3. YOYOK 4. Delicate 5. How did it end? 6. All too well 7. Archer 8. Dear john 9.tolerate it 10. White horse 11.All you had to do was stay

Roshni Kazmi

My ranking (solely based on listening to the song and how much I connected/felt emotion from it): 1. Delicate 2. So Long, London 3. All Too Well 4. My Tears Ricochet 5. The Archer 6. Dear John 7. YOYOK 8. How Did it End? 9. Cold as You 10. Tolerate It 11. White Horse 12. AYHTDWS

Margaret Potter

the dear john placing hurt

sarah🩵

And considering 'so high school' as a track 6 !!!! surely that's their number 1 given how much they love it haha

Jenny

SAME!

Jenny

Idk if anyone agrees but one factor in this ranking for me would be how she sounds singing it too, which does take the originals into account moreso than the re-recordings, for example All Too Well original recording just sounds so painful to me regardless of lyrics/subject matter, I think you can really feel the raw, vulnerable emotion in it

Jenny

After some serious re working because I did have a track 5 list previously lol but dammn she was not up to date enough 😂💀 this is mine... will happily explain my choices if anyone is offended lol 1. My Tears Ricochet 2. Tolerate it 3. So Long London 4. All too Well 5. How did it end. 6. The Archer 7. Yoyok 8. Delicate 9. White Horse 10. Dear John 11. AYHTDWS 12. Cold as you

Emily Hopkins

10. Delicate 9. All you had to do was stay 8. White horse 7. Cold as you 6.dear john 5.tolerate it 4. The archer 3. All to well- if it was 10min it would be #1! 2. My tears ricochet 1. Yoyok!

🫧a•whit🫧

Tolerate It then everything else

Renee S. Smith

Bonnie saying “interesting thank you for sharing” about ATW really sums it up 🤣

Amanda Christon

i can't overlook the power of her singing in Dear John; "I'm shining like fireworks over your sad, empty town"' really hits hard.

Okay this is so interesting my list is SO DIFFERENT to yours. I wrote mine before watching the video & I will say I think I interpret track 5s differently. I don’t as much think of vulnerability as I do excruciating levels of emotional depth & heartbreaking sadness. All songwriting in general is vulnerable IMO. 1. YOYOK 2. All Too Well 3. my tears ricochet 4. So Long, London 5. tolerate it 6. Dear John 7. The Archer 8. White Horse 9. Cold As You 10. All You Had To Do Was Stay 11. Delicate I do not understand Delicate as a track 5. It’s quite upbeat and not sad at all to me. I could forget Delicate is a track 5 whereas songs like Dear John and All Too Well I’m like DUH THAT’S TRACK 5. YOYOK is the track 5 of OUR LIVES as fans of Taylor Swift and I think decades from now it will be her legacy and a song everyone goes back to when they think of Taylor. I tried to not just pick my favorite tracks on this list - my favorite 3 if I’m being entirely biased are YOYOK, tolerate it & White Horse. The White Horse slander in this video did in fact break my heart… Also, I don’t imagine How Did It End? as a track 5 AT ALL. Track 5 on TTPD IS So Long, London.

Julia Fisher

I also agree on the ranking of dear John. The song itself is more angry and ranting. Not to diminish the song, but dear John is mostly about why he is an asshole. Would’ve could’ve should’ve is the song that really gave the story its vulnerability and showed us the effect that that relationship had on her.

Claudy

she says in the folklore long pond studio sessions movie that as soon as she wrote my tears ricochet she knew it was going to be track 5. i don’t think anything is ever forced with taylor and songwriting. i think she writes what she feels and the track 5 finds her rather than her finding it.

Haley

It’s interesting, because a couple of songs on TTPD showed that tolerate it probably was very relevant and how she felt at that time. The way she moved to London and he didn’t really appreciate it. I also always thought that happiness would be a good track 5, even more so being the track 5 that came after my tears ricochet. They’re quite similar, but my tears ricochet is the angry version and happiness is more reflective.

Claudy

I think during 1989 era Taylor started to acknowledge the track 5 lore - I have always tied All you had to do with stay as the first time it really was the thesis statement of the album and it made a lot of sense to how that aligns with the core of 1989

Kristin Nicole

My ranking for track 5s is: 1. Tolerate It 2. Dear John 3. All Too Well 4. My Tears Ricochet 5. So Long, London 6. You’re On Your Own, Kid 7. How Did It End 8. The Archer 9. White Horse 10. Cold As You 11. Delicate 12. All You Had To Do Was Stay.

No

My tears ricochet was written in 2019 so it was the first song written on folklore!

Lauren

Emily 😂 tell your no4 song to Midnights reaction Emily because I highly anticipate she will slap you as well.

Leander

Brooke Waxman

I love you and everyone is allow to their opinion, but Dear John so low is the most insane think I saw on the internet for a looong time.

Karolina Hołub

For me, How Did It End? has to be number 1. The bridge always kills me. Her live performance on the eras tour forever haunts me. While it’s about Joe, I think it’s also a reflection on all her relationships, kinda like Coney Island.

Abe

my tears ricochet tolerate it So Long, London All Too Well The Archer Your On Your Own, Kid How Did It End? Dear John Cold As You White Horse Delicate All You Had To Do Was Stay

Sydney

this is my ranking 🫶🏼 1. my tears ricochet 2. the archer 3. so long london 4. tolerate it 5. all too well 6. your on your own kid 7. dear john 8. delicate 9. how did it end? 10. ayhtdws 11. white horse 12. cold as you

daisie

agh this was before i watched and knew we were including how did it end lol, i’d slot it right after yoyok! 🥹

Liz

Do you think, since she’s been purposeful about the track 5’s, that Taylor sits down and tries to write a vulnerable song to put in that spot? Or does she write a bunch of songs for an album and then go through them to find one that is vulnerable enough to put as track 5?

Rachel P.

based purely on their role as a track 5, (NOT on my feelings of their superiority as songs because having any of these at the bottom hurts) 1. my tears ricochet 2. all too well 3. dear john 4. tolerate it 5. so long, london 6. you’re on your own kid 7. the archer 8. delicate 9. cold as you 10. all you had to do was stay 11. white horse

Liz

The YELP THAT I YELPED AT THE SIGHT OF THIS UPLOAD 😍

Liz

Loved to see this list and the reasonings! Honestly great list and your reasonings both make sense for sure! It is hard for me to separate the vulnerability from personal preference of songs, my favorites are: tolerate it and So Long, London and I can’t tell what my third even is honestly.

Athea Ryft

I think say don't go could've been track five on 1989

Brooke Waxman

THIS IS MY SUPERBOWL

Sanya Sharma

When Bonnie slapped Emily for YOYOK, I died. 😂

Nobody's gonna love you like me.

you’re on your own kid being at 4 for emily ACTUALLY killed me what do you MEAN 😭😅 “interesting thank you for sharing” 😅

madison

emily forgot to mention the SUPERIOR long pond version of my tears ricochet!!! it's so perfect

Rodrigo

That makes sense! I feel like some people care more about sound and music and some people need to hear a certain lyric or lyrics. It depends on my mood and the day haha

Erica Trull

Immediately hurt my feelings with white horse but thank you for this <3

Sam

Justice for Dear John!

Rodrigo

one aspect that i think you overlooked a little bit and that for me is very important are the sad LYRICS, for me there are not very sad, vulnerable, track 5-worthy lyrics on YOYOK. for me lyrics like "long were the nights when my days once revolved around you", "so casually cruel in the name of being honest" are the definition of a track 5! the verses on YOYOK are just okay lyrics for me... sorry! i dont like So Long London very much, but I agree with the higher positions for it because it's so beautifully written, even tho it's not my favorite. i don't like the "relatabily" argument very much... i didn't have my masters robbed or been betrayed by a friend to understand the feeling, to feel the emotions, to love the lyrics in my tears ricochet and to have it as one of my favorite TS songs. so i'm not sure if relatability is a strong argument, even though she tells the story in a metaphorical way so we can all relate to it in a certain way.

Rodrigo

agree with breathe!

Anna Mehrbilder

but also without the lore, just naked as itself - fantastic track 5 and my number 3 :-)

Anna Mehrbilder

I am really impressed by the crazy differences we all show in our ranking - so much fun! my ranking (for me: track 5 = gut wrenching sad song, not necessarily vulnerable, so which song drives me tears consistently?) 1: all too well 2: my tears ricochet 3: dear john 4: so long london 5: tolerate it 6: how did it end 7: you re on your own kid 8: white horse 9: cold as you 10: delicate 11: the archer 12: all you had to do was stay (I love it, but just not a track 5 <3 )

Anna Mehrbilder

I was never good at telling jokes - is so much my favourite line (also especially melodically and rhythmically!!), that I hardly listen to atw "short" ( ;-) ) anymore, even though I basically think, the song is "as a song" better than the 10 minute version.

Anna Mehrbilder

Eeeeeekkkk thank you for giving this to us!!!!!!

McKenna Wissing

my personal track five hot take is that this love should've been the track five for 1989. i think it's the only song on the standard album where she doesn't have that layer of 'trying to play it cool' probably bc it was written so early in the process, which makes it feel more vulnerable than the other songs even though it isn't a sad song in the traditional sense

Mariana Christena Lee

That’s eerie that it started raining when you were talking about so long London 👀 Weary bones caught the chill.

Gina Gould

I caught that!! Lol! I hope that’s a real thing that happens. 🫶🏻

Linda McManus

I fear delicate would be at the bottom for me 🫣

Holly

I totally second that motion! The Track Two ranking would be amazing! “cardigan” and “Maroon” and “Cruel Summer” alone are reason enough for it to have to be explored!!!🫶🏻😎

Linda McManus

The Prophecy is such a superior song! TTPD truly has some of the best songs she's ever written. I also feel like that about loml...such a gut punch of a song, especially being someone who has had a Matty Healy type character bulldoze through their life.

Maggie Grainger

loveddd your rankings, you really made me think about some of these songs and their function as a track 5 in a new light! also, this might be a silly idea but have you ever considered doing an album covers discussion? I feel like that could be really interesting to see where the stolen versus Taylors version sit amongst things, like do the TV's reflect the album better than the stolen versions album cover? or just does the TV add something new in retrospect upon revisiting

Elle D

If you asked Taylor to rank these, I 100% think she’d put Dear John in the top 2 This video was fab but my heart roared when you said Dear John portrays a a ‘simplier feeling’ Becuase it’s not just a sad breakup song. It’s about giving yourself permission to be angry, and reflecting on power dynamics. It’s about how we can lose ourselves in relationships (one of the biggest themes in her work). And it’s also about being old enough to realise how young you were. It’s the emotional centre of Speak Now and ties together songs like Never Grow Up, Mine, Enchanted, Foolish One, The Story of Us. Without a song like Dear John, you don’t get a Nothing New. It’s her reflecting on the perils of being young and how easily your heart is exploited. You wouldn’t have All Too Well without Dear John. Dear John is one of the most important songs in her catalog And there’s a reason why Taylor couldn’t play it for years. I fear Speak Now is always getting the short end of the stick But loved the video !

IG

12. All you had to do was stay 11. Delicate 10. White horse 9. Cold as you 8. Dear John 7. All too well 6. How did it end 5. You’re on your own kid 4. So long London 3. Tolerate it 2. My tears ricochet 1. The archer

Alexandra Bennett

Thinking about Fearless, I actually think Breathe would have been a great track 5. It may have more pain in it than any other song on Fearless. Also I think she lied about it to cover up the truth; I don't think it was a broken friendship song. She also kind of lied about tolerate it, though really I don't understand why that makes Bonny rate it lower. I think tolerate it is awesome, but I do agree that happiness is even better. happiness is a once-in-a lifetime level of songwriting.

MarkH

"interesting, thank you for sharing" killed me 💀😂

Giel

What a challenge!!!🥵🤯😭🤪 I woke up to this video today and, of course, took the challenge myself. The top 3 were torture! I was in the depths of The Tortured Swiftie Department lol! My ranking below, from bottom Track 5 to top…👇🏻 12. “White Horse” 11. “Cold As You” 10. “All You Had To Do Was Stay” 9. “Delicate” 8. “Dear John” 7. “How Did It End” 6. “All Too Well” (the OG) 5. “tolerate it” 4. “my tears ricochet” 3. “The Archer” 2. “So Long London” 1. “You’re On Your Own, Kid”

Linda McManus

how did it end is such a fucked up song i love it so much thank you for including it 🫶🏼🙏🏼

sarah isabel

I feel like the reason my ranking is so different is because for me, Track 5 is about what song is the emotional centre piece of the album, not just what’s the most vulnerable.

IG

emily i stand behind you ranking all too well at 5<3

cass

Btw of y'all have never read Rebecca - stop everything, go and buy it. Rebecca = evermore The imagery weaved throughout evermore (particularly tolerate it and ivy) are soooooo Rebecca coded.

Jason

1. So long London - it just makes me cry every time and is lyrically so incredibly poetic and beautiful and creates vivid imagery in my mind. 2. How did it end - also makes me cry and it is so vulnerable to admit that you do not know why something so significant in your life has happened even as such a self-aware person as she is, also so poetic and the piano is so sad. 3. All too well - admitting how significant this relationship was for her and that she still cared so much after it ended is deeply vulnerable and sad. 4. My tears ricochet - the funeral metaphor, the intensity of the lyrics and the dramatic build up of the production gets me every time. 5. You’re on your own kid - the message is applicable to everyone's life and realizing that you are on your own is so sad and at the same time empowering. 6. The archer - a deep insight into her mind, showing how well she knows her own flaws and strenghts. 7. Tolerate it - even if she did not admit it to the public, realizing that her love is merely tolerated in her long term relationship is so painful and to face that fact must be incredibly hard. 8. Dear John - admitting in a way that she was young and naive entering the relationship but having the wisdom even at that young age to know hat it was the much older man that did the wrong thing and not being ashamed of her naivity is very brave. 9. Delicate - nothing to add to Em and Bon here 10. White horse - sad, especially when thinking of the video 11. All you had to do was stay - in the context of being a track 5 it is just meh 12. Cold as you - it is a sad song but the fact that she probably did not live through this herself comes through and makes it less intense

Katharina Weber

yessss i am so so intrigued to see what the next track 5 will be about in terms of her relationship with travis!!!

Katie LaFave

My ranking: 1. So Long, London 🤍 2. tolerate it 🤎 3. my tears ricochet 🩶 4. How did it end? 🤍 5. All Too Well ❤️ 6. You’re on your own kid 💙 7. The Archer 🩷 8. Delicate 🖤 9. Cold as you 💚 10. Dear John 💜 11. White Horse 💛 12. All you had to do was stay 🩵

Jenny

… Bonny nervously pulling at her hair this whole video lol 😆

Gina Gould

Here’s my list: 1. My tears ricochet 2. Dear John 3. You’re on your own kid 4. So long London 5. All too well 6. White horse 7. Cold as you 8. Tolerate it 9. The archer 10. Delicate 11. I hate it here 12. All you had to do was stay

Gina Gould

The line in How Did It End that always fucks me up is "Come one, come all, it's happening again." Like she's dreading what it's going to be like--the things people will say about her and to her--when it's revealed that for the first time in such a long time her relationship ended. And that's she's going to have to experience her intense, complicated pain becoming this public spectacle.

Sean

Almost cancelled you when you both listed Dear John wayyyy too low. 🥴 Just kidding lol. Thank you for finally doing this video! It’s always fun to see other people’s opinions!

Gina Gould

1. My tears ricochet 2. The archer 3. you’re on your own kid 4. How did it end 5. All too well 6. So long London 7. Dear John 8. Tolerate it 9. Cold as you 10. White horse 11. All you had to do was stay 12. Delicate

Jami Marie

1. my tears ricochet 2. so long london 3. tolerate it 4. all too well 5. the archer 6. you're on your own kid 7. how did it end 8. delicate 9. cold as you 10. white horse 11. dear john - i actually think last kiss would've been a perfect track 5, but in taylor's defense she obviously wasn't think about track 5s three albums in! 12. all you had to do was stay now i know that if i had ranked these just by how much i like the songs, people would not be happy....

Katie LaFave

Absolutely. She is literally begging and howling in that song 🌕 🐺

Hayley

see i think the fact that taylor wasn't even thinking about track 5s with her first few albums just proves how good cold as you and white horse are as track 5s because they are sad!

Katie LaFave

Ladies thank you for your sacrifice 🙏🙏 I can’t imagine doing this and surviving

Florence Lambert

see for me all you had to do was stay would be last! i don't have another option cuz i think clean is too good as an album closer! if she had originally put say don't go on the album, i think that could've been the track 5!! however, if this was a ranking just based on how much i like the songs, all you had to do was stay would be in the top 5!!!

Katie LaFave

i think breathe would've been a better track 5... artists usually don't put alternate versions of songs on the main album so forever and always piano version just wouldn't have made sense as a track 5

Katie LaFave

white horse was taylor's first grammy win ever!!! it's soooo underrated

Katie LaFave

It is simply just TOO hard to rank track 5 songs i am genuinely surprised you guys managed to do that without going through a mental breakdown. Even right now as I am about to do it, I cannot bring myself to choose top 1 😰 anyway love you guys 🖤 and maybe for the next video, a track 2 ranking?? that would be quite interesting to watch

Rosie

for me dear john should've been higher! the lyrics are for me way deeper, sadder, more complex than the verses of YOYOK... imo YOYOK is towards the bottom...

Rodrigo

Emily can I just say I LOVE your style and it suits you perfectly. Where is your shirt from?? You always nail it

Florence Lambert

Thank you so much for So Long London ! I did not know that people thought it was not a great track 5 , as someone who personally relates to it, I'm quite surprised ! As you said, it is letting go of something you wanted so badly to work out and didn't, you gave everything to this and still it could not work and even if you still wishes it were a possibility, you have to let go of it yourself and grieve it forever, accept that you had to let this go to save yourself because this person did not wanted it to work enough to seek help, therapy... (the link with Renegade) I just can't explain it better than she does but : - "I stopped trying to make him laugh, Stopped trying to drill the safe Thinking, how much sad did you think I had in me ?" !!!! - "when you're not sure if he wants to be there" as in : here with me, in this relationship but also here = alive no STOP - "I'm just mad as hell cause I loved this place" : the anger you have against yourself for loving someone who could not love you back and still wanting to be there with him ? no STOP ! To me it is top 1 because it's about losing a part of you, a life you wanted and invested so much of your time and energy in as much as MTR is, So Long London is losing it because of a long term relationship and MTR because of a rich man selling years of your work and soul behind your back but both are amazing and I feel that So Long London hit me more !

Delphine Gras

Yes, I don't remember if Taylor said it was actually the first one she wrote, but in folklore Long Pond she and Jack say that the story/album really started - chronologically - with my tears ricochet.

Jaime McKee

the eras tour choreography for my tears ricochet defines what level of pain and destruction this song holds for taylor. she starts on her knees, the funeral procession moves in this painfully slow march, and then as the bridge starts, EVERYONE collapses on the ground. utter devastation emotionally for everyone involved. it is the number one track 5 now, and might always be

Mex

my list is: 1. my tears ricochet 2. Dear John 3. tolerate it 4. so long London 5. all too well 6. cold as you 7. how did it end 8. you're on your own kid 9. the archer 10. white horse 11. all you had to do was stay 12. delicate

Clementine

Swiftie History Lesson: The first time Taylor mentioned track 5 was during the 1989 era, and she said she thought All You Had To Do Was Stay didn't quite fit. She said this at one of the secret sessions, if my memory serves me!

Cali

It's a long time coming...

Troy

It’s so interesting to see how people all rank things so differently! I’ve never thought about considering how personal the song is to her rather than just the lyrics. I’ve always looked at the track 5s as just the most vulnerable gut wrenching lyrics rather than how closely it relates to her life. Going to look through that lens now and see how the songs change for me!

Alexandra Bennett

I too obviously want to know and love the track 5s but i've became a track 6 fan over the years 👌 illegal !! It's so hard to rank her music now it depends so much on nostalgia, when did you became a fan fan, where you at in your life ect ect my list changes all the time haha I always wonder if the track 5 has to be a sad gut wrenching song or the core message of an album ? I could see Ayhtdws been the latter but it could have been wildest dream too for ex or this love. Agree about Tolerate it in hindsight tells a lot, she could have thought about previous rs and her current one as well. I always think of the Crown little Diana waiting for Charles idk why 😂

CamilleC

However, these are so hard and illegal to rank. Here’s mine (I think) 1. My tears ricochet 2. All too well 3. The Archer 4. How did it end? 5. So long london 6. YOYOK 7. Dear John 8. Tolerate It 9. Delicate 10. Cold As You 11. White Horse 12. AYHTDWS

Bria Bowen

I just wanted you both to know that I joined your Patreon to grow in my knowledge, love, and appreciation of Taylor. I have discovered so many songs of hers I didn’t know existed, or that I would like. She has her own playlist on my phone now. All my best to you 💕

Michele Graziani

YOYOK will be my number 1 track 5 until further notice. I say this from the place that once you’ve learned that the biggest relationship you will have is with yourself and you have to learn that with trials than nothing tops loving yourself and acknowledging that you are enough come what may. You are enough and you can pick yourself up and keep going.

Catherine (YOYOK stan)

Totally agree about the Prophecy! I believe it’s one of the most vulnerable songs she’s ever written.

Bria Bowen

My Tears Ricochet is in its rightful place of #1 on your lists. From the lyrics, to the production, to the sigh she lets out after performing it… perfection.

Ebru

When y’all said Dear John so low I audibly gasped 😰🤣

Bria Bowen

My unpopular opinion is ATW original version just hits so much harder than the 10MV! SO much more emotion and the drums and guitar just go so hard!!!!! The 10MV just doesn’t hit as hard.. but I mean, I get it “fuck the patriarchy” is fun to yell, but nothing compares to the thrashing of the drums on the original. It really evokes the anger you feel when someone gaslights you the way he did into thinking it wasn’t that serious. Omg 🤌🏻😝

Erica Trull

i am tired of the white horse slander!!!!!!

Aubrey McMichael

I’m glad the rankings r based on how they are as Track 5s and not based on our favorite songs list

Dominic Cuomo

MTR is the first song she does the funeral thing with, but definitely not the only one! “We hereby conduct this post mortem”

Almq

love the ranking vids!! also, i don’t understand people who say so long london isn’t a good track 5- it’s superior!

heather

You know this makes me wonder what the Track 5 will be on TS12 knowing she’s in a very happy healthy relationship with Travis. Maybe along the lines of how open she was to Travis telling him how miserable her mental health was the first half of 2023

Dominic Cuomo

I have the exact same thing with 'The Archer'. I'm gonna listen to it now, because I'm missing out on a lot, I feel like. 1. How did it end? 2. My tears ricochet 3. All too well 4. YOYOK 5. Dear John 6. So Long, London 7. Delicate 8. Tolerate it 9. Cold as you 10. The Archer 11. AYHTDWS 12. White horse

Joe.with.a.Jay

Bonny and I had the same Top 5! 🫶🏼 I decided to do my ranking before watching the video this time and it was more fun haha. I just can’t believe how low y’all ranked Dear John but it’s okay. I’m okay. 😌 1. My Tears Ricochet 2. You’re On Your Own Kid 3. All Too Well 4. So Long, London 5. The Archer 6. Dear John 7. Tolerate It 8. How Did It End 9. All You Had To Do Was Stay 10. White Horse 11. Cold As You 12. Delicate Honestly, I wish The Prophecy was the track 5 instead of How Did It End because I would argue it’s her most vulnerable song ever. It would be my #1 for sure. I also feel I must defend my ranking of Delicate 😂 I LOVE DELICATE. But I really don’t think it’s that vulnerable. It actually isn’t at all in the verses or the bridge for me. I would say Dancing With Our Hands Tied would make more sense as a Track 5 🖤 Loved this video guys! So glad you finally did it! Most challenging ranking so far lol

Hayley

I guess I always just assumed we all understood that her presenting “Tolerate It” as fictional was a total smokescreen, and not a subtle one. I have always assumed that she was intentionally telling on herself because she wanted fans to read into the fact that she placed it as Track 5. The entire theme of Evermore as an album is about endings of all kinds, and I feel like by putting Tolerate It as track 5, she was laying groundwork for the fans to be able to accept that maybe things in her relationship had not been feeling as good as she had maybe previously felt, and that maybe the relationship was coming to it’s end.

Leijette Riopel

Thank you for thisss!! X

Caroline Turner

My first and second flip flop on an hourly basis, honestly lmao. Also please Bonny don't hunt me down over my placement of Delicate 😅 1. my tears ricochet 2. So Long, London 3. YOYOK 4. How Did It End? 5. The Archer 6. tolerate it 7. All Too Well 8. Dear John 9. Delicate 10. AYHTDWS 11. White Horse 12. Cold As You

Natalie

My ranking currently (it changes daily lol) is: 1. YOYOK 2. my tears ricochet 3. So Long, London 4. All Too Well 5. How Did It End? 6. tolerate it 7. The Archer 8. Delicate 9. All You Had To Do Was Stay 10. Dear John 11. Cold As You 12. White Horse

Cody

‼️❗️CORRECTION‼️❗️ Girlies nooo, she first acknowledged track 5 during rep era. It was during secret sessions, or something like that. There is a voice clip of hers where she says this, it’s straight from her not like a he said she said. Here’s the link, she talks about a bunch of other things as well, it’s 12 minutes, so y’all can watch it on your own. (Or if you want, you can film an impromptu patreon exclusive video, teasing the rep era lol) https://youtu.be/N0sMLapsao8?si=6cR6rD4rcF6twkCZ

Almq

DO NOT tease us with an updated EVERMORE breakdown!! 20:08!! 🤎✨ I’ve just rewatched your original album breakdown videos on the album and while I adore them, I cannot wait for the updated breakdowns!!! Thank you lovelies x

Honey

I feel that So Long London captured a feeling that we don’t hear very often on Taylor’s discography, which is anxiety. Almost as if touching that feeling and finally admitting to us that the relationship with Joe was problematic and not a sword of “happy ending” kind of situation, ripped her apart. Is like that feeling when you’re are obligated to faca that a dream is over, that an idea that you had for so long only exists in your mind. So messed up and real.

Felipe Pezarini

What Bonny said about yoyok and the surprise songs is actually similar to something I fathomed about long live I just think that bitch needed to mash it up especially on the last night and when she sang it with yoyok !!! 🤍 however it still hurts that Europe didn’t get long live x

claudia jones

This was my suggestion!! Thank you 🙏❤️

Tayllie

Oh yes, please also rank the track two's, cause they are criminal. Cruel summer, blank space, maroon, cardigan, red, champagne problems. It's too much that those are all the second track, there is something about that spot in the albums. Ps. Weird question, but I would LOVE if you react to eurovision. Would make my whole year.

Joe.with.a.Jay

God Idk why but I'm such a sucker for rankings. I'm happy to see any and all rankings you care to do, go ahead and rank the obscurest shit possible, I'll watch it. lol

Lefty

If I’m being completely honest this is my top 5 1. Atw 2. how did it end 3. Cold as you 4. Yoyok 5. My tears ricochet And my least is delicate (sorry Bonny😅)

maya zutra

what is the evermore breakdown that Bonnie said they get to in the future???? will they break down evermore again????? OMGGGG

Dinh Hoan

OMG I was literally thinking last night “I would love to see the girls ranking of track 5’s” and I woke up to this!! Can’t wait to watch!!

Cody

My top 5: YOYOK the archer How did it end my tears ricochet So Long london

Louisa Hunskjær

Always love the ranking videos…would love to see you guys rank album covers (both OG and TV)!! ❤️

Charlotte Morris

I 100% think of How did it end? as a track 5! Thank you for including it 🙏

Ella

Yes I was going to say she did this at secret sessions either with Rep or 1989. She said something about fans pointing out it was her most emotional song and she “did it again”

Lish Marie

HUGE Happy Birthday Joshy 🎉 we love you!!

Chats & Reacts

Ok.. I think I can pull together my top 5 (it changes daily): 5. EDIT: So Long, London instead of Dear John 4. tolerate it 3. YOYOK 2. How did it end? 1. my tears ricochet

Laila Duffy

I'm excited for Tracks 6s ranking as they serve as "pick me ups" and "please bring me back to life" after Track 5s and it's eaqually as important role in the album as Track 5s have to be the most devastating.

Laila Duffy

i'm always upset when the video is over 😭 love you guys so much, can't wait for the next one

Gianluca

I know this isn’t in your wheelhouse necessarily, but you might want to think about reacting to the new Lady Gaga album, Mayhem. I’m not a Lady Gaga fan, love her iconic hits, but I’m not the biggest fan. But, I’m going to Coachella and Gaga is headlining N1 so I wanted to listen to her new album so I’d know some of the songs. This album I’m predicting will win AOTY. It’s so good. just for the sake of listening to something that is a very likely contender, it is worth listening to this album. The other reason, of course, is the TS song. Gaga swears Taylor didn’t ghost write it but…..guys. I’ve never heard another song that is such a 1989 Vault track more than this song. A remix of them both needs to be made. Anyway, just a suggestion. the album is just amazing.

Starbuck1234!

How do we possibly?????

Starbuck1234!

Yep! Valid!

Jade

Yikes how to decide… I guess always with a preface that it changes daily: ATW (I think the lore has to earn it credit to remain in its slot. I will happily say other TS songs are the greatest of all time but ATW has to win this list specifically) my tears ricochet So long, London Tolerate it YOYOK Dear John (the teacher in me just empathises so much with the words of scorned youth. I think she’s not only being vulnerable and brave but it is reflecting a time where that vulnerability was taken advantage of) The archer How did it end? White horse AYHTDWS Delicate (I love the song, but as a track 5, it doesn’t have the same oomph as the others) Cold as you

Taylah Louise

My top 5 is 1. All too well 2. My tears ricochet 3. You're on you're own kid 4. How did it end 5. So long London

Kim

Loved the video🥰 My ranking is based on my personal favorites and the emotions I get while I listen to these songs🥹 1. So long London (I almost cry every time when I fully let that song sink in😭) 2. All too well (almost made it to number 1, I fought with myself to place it😂) 3. How did it end (it HAS to be in here🫶🏻💔😢) 4. YOYOK 5. My tears ricochet (maybe need to consider this to be higher after your perfect speech why it is you nr. 1🥹🫶🏻) 6. White horse (I'm gonna find someone someday who might actually treat me well just hits different for me...) 7. Delicate 8. Tolerate it 9. Dear John 10. All you had to do was stay 11. The Archer (sorry for that, but I think I still need to fathom this song🎶) 12. Cold as you (I am curious if this would get another spot for me if we have the Taylor's version🤔) So exited for the other rankings😍

Amelie

I was looking for this comment! 😍🤣 Thank you thank you!

Annika

Calling Matty a shit cunt is the most Australian thing ever and I love it 😂😂😂

Taylah Louise

The Emily Method: my tears ricochet So Long, London ATW YOYOK The Archer …How Did it End? tolerate it Dear John Cold As You White Horse AYHTDWS Delicate (I am a Rep Stan - this hurts me)

Annika

I did two lists as they change drastically depending on ‘in the theme of track 5s’ (The Emily Method) or ‘track 5s but influenced by my faves’ (The Bonny Method): The Bonny Method: YOYOK my tears ricochet ATW So Long, London …How Did it End? The Archer tolerate it Delicate White Horse Dear John (I don’t like the melody I am SO sorry) AYHTDWS Cold As You

Annika

I feel like I’ve been waiting a million years for this video. I ate up every second

Taylah Louise

Emily I feel like I completely agree with you. This was brutal you guys but thanks for doing it! And of course How Did It End? is a track 5!

LeahMcKellar

Love ❤️ we needed this ranking and so difficult to do 🫶 my top 3 track 5s are 1. Tolerate it. 2. So long London 3. My tears ricochet

Monica Andersen

Happy Birthday Joshy! 🥳

Annika

Happy birthday Josh!! 🫶🏻

Lynny Smith

Omg I’ve never thought about it in this way but you’re so right!!!!!

Lynny Smith

Ahhh I’m offended but also not offended at all cause ranking is always so hard! I just did my ranking and it actually turned out to be the same as Emily’s - deeply concerning that these songs all exist what do you mean????

Lynny Smith

Oh I love that you did this video! I loved the little slap from Bonny over You’re On Your Own Kid lol I completely agree with MTR being the number 1. I disagree on All You Had To Do Was Stay lol it’s a tragic bop, and the verses are what grabbed me. People like me are gone forever…my ranking is : My Tears Ricochet All Too Well You’re On Your Own Kid All You Had To Do Was Stay Delicate So Long London Tolerate It Dear John Cold As You How Did It End The Archer ( sorry, lol) White Horse This ranking is subject to change lol MTR was the first song she wrote for folklore 🫶

Tess7

Did she say an evermore breakdown?!?!?!?! Plsss track by track I need it 🥲

Bronson White-hikalea

no I just think it's so fucked up the way taylor in YOYOK is basically talking ABOUT herself TO herself just to convince herself to leave that relationship and that she will survive it just as she's survived every other hard decision and bad experience she's had in the past (another thing I adore abt this song is the way you can extrapolate it to any other situation in your life, not just this decision she was trying to make)

Andrea

Bonnie's hair is always so beautiful! ☺️

Isa

I feel like she knows very clearly how her relationship ended with Joe (she literally told us the whole story on so long London and you’re losing me), I think when she’s saying ‘I can’t pretend like I understand how did it end’ she’s more saying ‘how the fuck did yet another relationship end! What am I doing wrong’ I don’t know this song to me is very similar to the prophecy and almost feels like a cry for help

Josie Bicknelle

Happy birthday 🎂 Josh!

Tess7

Bonny physically adjusting her body away from Em after the yoyok bombshell 😂

Abby

I think how did it end would be my literal number one, because the way it hit me on first listen and just had it on repeat while crying to it To me that song is a really meta reflection of Taylor’s whole life and career, of the cycle of her having relationships that always end very publicly and then her being expected to write songs about them, because us as fans want to know how it ended It makes my heart crack every time I hear her voice crack at the end when she says ‘how did it end, I can’t pretend like I understand’ because I don’t even think to me it’s just singularly about Joe, it’s about every relationship she’s ever been in being a failure And just as a fan that’s grown up rooting for her to find love it just really breaks my heart and I think it’s a perfect track five because in a way it can encapsulate all of her other heartbreak songs, all of her other track five’s

Josie Bicknelle

1. This is such a fun video. Deeply appreciated the girly chat on this 💝 2. EMILY!! 😍❤️😍 The way you have been leaning into your summer color palette lately is actual perfection 💗🩵💗 What a babe!!

Hillary Smith

I wish I could download this to watch on my flight!!!! What do you mean I have to wait 3h 😅

Hannah

I would put AYHTDWS last honestly, I mean 1989 has clean...like...the rest I can't even begin to rank haha Edit: I have been called out, oops

Emmie Kruger

Bonnie got to slap Em!!!! What a treat for Bonnie instead of her arms being punished 😂

Jessie 🩷🌸

Girlies Dear John deserved higher than Delicate!!! 😂

Rebecca

Well thank you for this exceptional birthday treat!

HollieJolly

Emily, I'm sorry but the silver jewellery is SO SUPERIOR on you! Gorgeous 🥰

Jamie Krsul

I remember her acknowledging the track 5 thing during the Reputation secret sessions. I wasn’t there and I have no source for this, so it’s possible that I could be misremembering. But I recall hearing a voice recording at the time, of her speaking about how she was made aware by fans of a reoccurring pattern with the 5th track of each album, just before she played Delicate to the group. Curious if there’s anyone here that can confirm that?

Cole Jones

I feel similar about track 9s 👀🤗

Kiki
