After my first real breakup, I was so devastated and lost so much weight my mom threatened to hospitalize me if I didn't start eating right. I fortunately didn't develop an eating disorder. I couldn't fathom the lyric "gain the weight of you and lose it", which is sometimes linked to this lyric for so long because I saw this lyric as actual weight loss.

It's worth it to also pay special attention to the instruments in the live versions of the songs, because there are soo many details you'd be missing out on otherwise. This show blew me away and I walked out and thinking "I never really listened to Taylor, like really listened" i've only ever heard her hit singles and that's really all i knew about her music. And you are right the Red album was such a great place to start to really get to know her lyrics and her growth a an artist.

Loved seeing and listening to your takes on the entire show in one huge video like this!! Also (and I think other people have probably already commented this), I've always interpreted the "returning half her weight" line to just mean she no longer has her partner in her life. We refer to significant others as "my other half" or "my better half" sometimes. The soldier part of the lyric definitely brings to mind that the relationship, or the end of it, was an extremely difficult thing that she had to get through, so I think you're spot on there.

What actually made me understand it more clearly was the lyric that follows: “And did the TWIN FLAME bruise paint you blue” Twin flame refers to two individuals who are “two ‘halves’ of one whole”. 💔 On a positive note, out of all the performances, Taylor looks the happiest while singing Betty. 🥹 You can tell she’s SO proud of folklore and the teenage love triangle she created. 🩶

Taylor comes out of the shells like the imagery from the painting. And Venus is the goddess of love so makes sense for Lover!

"You are in love" is one of the most obvious ones, where some shots are so close and her face and hair are perfect, but another shot her hair is a little sweaty and tousled.

And truly what a blessing to have it as a film. I watched it over the holidays and then a week or two ago and then just now and I feel like I've gotten to know each era a little bit better each time. The anti-hero performance I never spent much time with until this last rewatch and how iconic. And simply require a tour doc as well!!! Ah! How nice would it be to have little bits from each country. Who knows what's been done or not. It's a little wild to me that we don't have as much of the behind the scenes either.

TTPD needed to come out in the middle of the tour, so that Taylor could release those emotions and close that chapter before moving onto TS12 with new love and color. My job focuses a lot on safety and my first thought with her up that high was, where is the safety tie/harness? She wears one on top of the folklore cabin, but never center stage. And I think that was her compromise. The platform is large enough that as long as she stays dead center and doesn't dance too much, she stays safe. Basically, she's commanding an entire stadium and also not even actually moving that much. Wild

I think there are songs that she writes and immediately knows what the live performance would be and then there are songs she writes without that element. Idk if that makes sense to anyone else but I thought I’d throw it out here.

Since Taylor has improved herself even more since rep era, I think the album represents being born again. The snakes will renew their skins when they need to. That's why we are not getting a new rep outfit too! I think rep era Taylor is always the alpha one. SO, she even puts original reputation in the boxes. That's just because she's going to kill all of her eras with rep tv to claim a new era in her life with the rights of all of her albums and the acclaim of Lover, folklore, evermore and Midnights.

So a bit of insider knowledge from the movie theater world, Taylor tried to collaborate with various studios in Hollywood to release her concert film but every studio told her it wouldn’t be profitable until the tour was actually over so they dragged their feet and refused to release it. So then she was like, “No, I want it out now” and she went straight to theater to get them to distribute it and cut out Hollywood distributors entirely, in the middle of the studio strike when theaters were struggling to survive due of lack of content. This woman single handedly saved movie theaters and proved to Hollywood that they’re not all that and a bag of chips, which ended up helping to resolve the strike. She’s so iconic and so wise and I love her forever for it. Literally saved my job.

2024-03-30 05:37:20 +0000 UTCOne of my absolute favorite memories was when my friend and I were walking down the main drive at Sofi to listen to the show from outside the stadium and we arrived just as the Lover set was ending. All you could hear was the transition from Lover to Fearless and the crazy guitar interlude as the sparks rain down. I hadn't seen the whole show through at that point on live streams or whatever so that transition was brand new to me and it was the most stunning thing to hear just rebounding all around the parking lot - I'm really sad the two guys don't get their moment in the film for me to fully appreciate!!!

Keeping the two in the middle of the concert so it feels like the live show did, one debut song to involve all 10 eras and one from her most recent album about her growing up through out all the eras and a line that gave us one of the most “eras tour” identifying things- the friendship bracelets. The four songs afterwards- a speak now and 1989 song the two re-records we got announced on the eras tour and two crowd favorites everyone wanted as surprise songs. I think it was quite intentional! And it was perfect

That is 3 hrs 13 minutes. I can't believe the 13 🤩 In the Champagne Problems speech she told us "more than 3 hours" so that tracks. I had some fathomings when I watched the disney version because I had only seen the original film (rented on apple tv) the week before so it was fresh in my mind. So I was able to notice that "Taylor's Version" is actually soooo different to the cinema film!!!! They included wayyy more overhead/ stadium-wide shots and significantly more fan/crowd shots in the disney version. One thing I felt after watching the cinema/rented film was that there was not enough atmosphere/ crowd shots- it was a lot of close up of Taylor (which I mean, superior and no complaints BUT it did mean I felt less of the stadium atmosphere and excitement). So then when I watched the disney film I actually enjoyed it significantly more cos it felt more like being at the actual show/ watching the rep tour film (RIP) Anyways, thought that might be of interest :) I'm literally only like 10mins in to the video so idk if you fathom any of this later on x
