During the Super Bowl there was a commercial and it ended with . . . Ready for it? on a black background and when I saw it I immediately thought of the Rep Tour. It is no longer on Netflix so it feels like a natural place for it to end up and would be a fun thing to do without overshadowing the new Eras movie. She has honestly captivated me with her writing abilities. I know there are plenty of great artists out there and I dont discredit their work. BUT there is just something so special and meaniningful (especially as a fan for YEARS) about her writing all her own stuff. It (to me) means so much more and I connect so much more with her work then a lot of other artitsts. I have been listening to evermore SO MUCH lately. Its just a complete materpiece. And that album just truly shows you what she is capable of. The lyricism of her words, the flow, the thought that goes into each note, just makes me appreciate her even more. Its offensive haha

Especially as she's performing them, re-recording them, and mashing them up... as I grow and change, songs change meaning for me so I don't see why they wouldn't change for Taylor, too. "Call It What You Want" could make her think about her relationship with Travis now... all the haters saying it's a "PR" relationship or whatever they want to say... call it what you want, she's HAPPY and nothing else matters. Like to me walking with your head down makes me feel like “oh I don’t want to be seen” or “oh I’m embarrassed” So although I love the song that always annoyed me like no get you a man that no matter who’s looking who’s talking he will walk towards you with his head high because he is proud of you and being with you. Of course it was good when it was good and heartbreaking when it was bad. But because she was always so protective of him she would say “call it what you want my baby is …” I can see why she would put them together if that was the case and the rumors were true. Personally this love and ciwyw are two of my favorite songs and they sound so beautiful together. I agree with Bonny I was waiting for her to say I want to wear his number on my chain not because he owns me but because he knows me 😍 I mean she’s already worn his number on her clothes and jewelry so sis isn’t far off 🤪😜🫶🏼

This love also has blue water imagery in it. One day he is heralded as the "best boyfriend" for going to Australia and the next day, how dare he not stay for the whole time in Australia and support her. This love is good, this love is bad among us online. He literally can't win. Her take... My baby is fly like a jet stream -I'm the one he's walking to. Neither one of them is listening to all the online clamor - so call it what you want to.

I love bonny and emily and think understanding how taylor originally wrote the songs is only natural and fun, but we're losing out on a set that taylor herself has said she wants to be "as creative as possible" when we're only focused on how they're "person x's song". also I've been obsessed with this woman for well over a decade

2024-03-05 09:45:20 +0000 UTCLiterally agree so much that Taylor is the only artist that could be doing these mash ups at her shows with her songs as she is the writer and has musical elements in a lot of them before production has ever been addressed, but I would say that Lana can mash up her own songs very well, as she hints a lot of the same references and even combines songs such as Taco Truck x VB but literally I can’t think of another artist like these two women and it’s because they are so true in their art, but I don’t think Lana could preform a mash up the way Taylor does she just had that glow on stage and knows exactly what to do for every crowd and show and these songs are superior I just can’t with her choices. I love you gals :) also I think maybe the piano mashup was like “this love came back to me” is for the fans and everyone like the dads, brads, and chads can “call it what they want” about Travis, her fame, fake fans eyeballing Joe etc. because people are really vicious in the media against her obviously… okay what a weird rant I went on, really enjoyed this one.

So that was a night where she did 3 songs and was also racing about an impending torrential downpour which is also I think why she rushed through it. It was Cinci Night 2 which I know we didn’t talk about because y’all didn’t get Ivy yet but now that you have maybe it’ll make your re fathoming better. I only remember because I was Tay gating that night and remember how crazy it was and also how immediately after show end the sky opened and we got really scary thunder storms like immediately. We know she loves a rain show but I’m definitely glad she was some by the show by then cuz it wouldn’t have been safe.

I feel like she really told a story with these mashups but that kind of got lost with the focus staying on why she didn't sing the lyrics that make it a "joe song"

That entire montage was one of the highlight of the documentary for me, and it must've been attached in our head that we've made the connection without even realizing the cause

So she’s experiencing love again and is finding herself finally having those thoughts and feelings explored in CIWYW again after maybe a lot of time at the end of her previous relationship not feeling that way at all (you’re losing me)

But, each mashed up song she is using WORDS. that is why August was in there. She had to have planned it, to make the words go together with those 3 songs. It doesn’t work without August. It’s the word association that she is doing. She didn’t just throw TOSOTD on at the end for chaos, it combines the words from GC and August. It doesn’t work without TOSOTD. Here are some examples of what she is doing: “Switched to THE OTHER SIDE” And “rust on your DOOR, i never NEEDED anything more” And “All I NEED is on THE OTHER SIDE of the DOOR”. That song is a staple on the setlist, but truth be told, she only sings the last chorus, and there is SO MUCH TEA she spills in that song. She's on break there, and whenever she has had a re-record (or new album) come out, it's while the tour is on break. She could announce it in August in London at the last show similar to "1989" and Los Angeles. Both those cities are pretty important to her so maybe?? I think that also gives "TTPD" ample time to have it's own thing. Maybe she originally was going to do "Rep" announcement in Februrary but switched "TTPD" and "Rep".
