Those ones in particular are the ones that I’m most attached to more so than any of the other re-records. I’m sure the new ones will be offensive but I will definitely miss the originals. I’m glad I have the original CDs for the rest of time so I can still listen to them without giving any royalties to other frightful people.

At the bus station, she says something about the duration of a year. That was accurate at the time for the combat deployments (Marines did 6 month rotations). Yearlong deployments to the Middle East (Afghanistan, Iraq, support bases in Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia) became a staple not only for the regular military, but nearly every unit in the National Guard also ended up over there at least once. The deployments continued from 2001 to 2021. (National Guard are combination State militia and Federal combat reserves-- meaning, mostly line units; our Reserve units are combat support/maintainence and Federal)
