please IMMEDIATELY tell us your thoughts on the track names!!!!! 🩵

REACTION: THE 1989 VAULT IS OPEN!!!!!

Comments

NYC does have some nice beaches. 1989 photos could be taken on a NY beach like Coney Island.

Breezy Bumbles

just came back to this and bonny said is it over now? is kinda giving out of the woods hahah she KNEW

Jonathan Riches

what are your guys opinions on her releasing the different vinyl variants? And the tangerine edition??? I ofc got all 😬😬🥵

Ramon❀°。

This might be a stretch but the vibe I get from the cover is as if we're in the pov of the city, and she's looking over her shoulder at us smiling as she runs away? I feel like 1989 is equal parts New York & running away and finding love and freedom. It's kind of a dichotomy of the most in-your-face-overexposed and I-am-happy-loving-life-escapism. It's like the style/welcome to new york vs I know places/out of the woods/wildest dreams... wrapped up in new romantics/clean/wonderland.

elizabethjewels_20

I feel like the vault tracks somehow confirm my take that 1989 is her "epic love" album. It's the epitome of the screaming colours romantic adventure, wild without the toxicity, while the world judges and slutshames her and pressurises it all. A legendary era, and time in her life. Idek I'm just so excited!!

elizabethjulia

For both Midnights and 1989 TV: I love the aesthetic and the looks with the albums, but they don't line up with the sounds those images evoke for me. Doesn't change my love or excitement about 1989 TV at all though.

asquared13

I wonder if the say don't go is an intentional play on words. our brains want to hear "stay" but the lyric will be "say" instead and there will be some tie in to miscommunication, which is a theme on the OG 1989 tracks

Kat Cooley

I also think she might have wanted to keep the 1989 TV clean and therefore, not include features, but we might have some features that will come up in the upcoming months (ex : like Karma feat Ice Spice)

Katrina Albert

Hi Emily and Bonnie! You guys are the bests! I support the theory that perhaps ''Slut!'' might not have been a word that Google wanted to promote worldwide, and therefore Taylor might have had to find another way to present the puzzle for that vault track.

Katrina Albert

In the eras tour, she transitions from the city to the ocean beach (after secret songs and before lavender haze) 🌊 I think she’s showing us that this album has a whole other side to it… this love speaks to the water/ocean/high tide. AND also let’s not forget the iconic rolling stone photo shoot of her at the beach 😍

Sacred_sunflower

I think I heard her say somewhere that the seagulls were just on the shirt she chose back then and they had no special meaning!

Marit

That Easter egg where she had the red and green nail showing when she's doig that video with the Speak Now album... it has to be a Christmas Easter egg.

Laurie A. V.

Hahah his wife texted me when he talked to Travis. But who knows! I wouldn’t believe if someone told me that either I get it!

Morgan Murdock

THANK YOU. I just posted about this. I do not ever belive the clowing theories but this makes sense to me. There is a reason it's on the wall twice.

Laurie A. V.

I think he's kidding around.

Laurie A. V.

Please talk to me about a 1989 double album. WHY IS 1989 ON THE MAN WALL TWICE??? I really think she's going to put out an entire collaboration album. What do you think???

Laurie A. V.

I just had the thought that 1989 was the official album where she left country. She wanted the world to know she is a city girl now.

Alex Engstrom

I think Suburban Legends is actually about the Suburban SUV. I feel like a lot of celebrities use drivers that drive Suburbans so it could be about traveling to meet someone or maybe something that happened in the back of a Suburban SUV

Sarah Horn

I saw Taylor applied for a trademark a couple days ago for “Swiftmas” again - it said for merchandise like notebooks etc 😃

Tess7

I think maybe there was a collab with Matty Healy that got scrapped. With Style, I just think she was giving him writing credit for the lyric she put in the song that he said, same as she did with Joe

Helen Dunham

My thought on "Slut!". The "s suggests it is sarcastic in some way. What if it was actually first Easter egged in Miss Americana when she said "There is no such thing as a slut!" And "Slut!" is just that monologue in song form.

Green Wolf Gaymer

my first thought about suburban legends was about how like the white picket fence and the american dream are actually legends, especially for famous people and somebody as big as taylor. like a house in the suburbs and the 2.5 kids and the dog isn’t really something she feels like she can have

Maddie Green

People have been looking at the back covers pictures and saying, "omg she's smiling and eating ice cream, she's finally clean from ED reliving the 1989 era". To be honest, I was thinking about this when the og cover dropped on 8/9 (yk the seagulls representing her inner demons finally free, and her smiling for the first time on an album cover). However, making each and everyt hing around her rn about this dark moment of her life back then, is just too much. I'm very happy she's in a really better position now but we can't bring up this topic for every picture of her we see. As a person who's gone through an ED and knows what a person with it is thinking, I wouldn't be happy if when I'm not in such a bad place anymore, people keep reminding me about it. "I'm so surprised, you usually don't eat that much" - this type of replies are just completely crumbling when you're fighting with this certain struggle. I hope people realize soon enough that talking about a problem of yours is still difficult even after you've solved the problem. I suggest we enjoy the album and the era without making it about Taylor's mental health because you never know what a person's inner issues are. Insecurity is worse than it sounds and giving the spotlight to her now is a way better option than rushing through her past. Be nice and don't talk about other people's feelings so freely. You never know who you could hurt.

fortaylormore

33 million PLUS the MANY (including me) who didnt get to do any cos it never worked for me! Why do people continue to doubt her smh

Jessie

no because the grammar of say don’t go has also been bothering me to my core. no comma??? no colon???? no quotes???? like girl what

kate

i think max martin could be producing 1 or more of the vault tracks cuz he teased that when we first got the 1989 tv announcement

Katie LaFave

i think she's dropping hints about releasing a Christmas album. If something happens on November 10th i think it would be an announcement of the Christmas album or the release of the final Midnights version with all the songs. because i'm really hoping for that Midnights version lol. it's about to be a year old, if she doesn't do it within the next couple of months, i don't think we're going to get one :( i'm hoping that's why Midnights is still her picture, and releasing this final version is the glitch! Edit-another thought, maybe the snake has something to do with the Slut song, not rep? i'm hoping she doesn't surprise drop rep around now, 1989 needs more of a moment. and i think she wants 1989 to have more of a moment so i don't think she'll do it. We'll see!!

Bree

if she has a 2nd 1989 album, maybe that one will have the New York theme

Bree

Okay wait has anyone heard of this Infinity theory about the Karma wall in "The Man" music video?? About how the album release order is not a clock but an Infinity sign all leading to karma. But she is wearing an Infinity bracelet in one of the Red TV photos and she was wearing the same bracelet in the 1989 glitch video. Because I just started the show that has LWYMMD TV as the title track and there's AN INFINITY NECKLACE IN THE OPENER. SOMEONE PLEASE EXPLAIN THIS TO ME 😭

Kayla

for me, 1989 is BOTH a beach and city album, but the album itself was more about the beach and the era as we saw it happened after she moved to New York, so we associate it with the city. this makes sense with this love being the first song she wrote for the album. songs like welcome to NY, style, and New Romantics display the city theme, while I know places and wildest dreams talk about leaving the city to find escape, and this love and clean provide vivid water imagery, this love in watching the tides of the ocean carry someone to and away from you, and clean in embracing the storm in order to heal from trauma and let the rain wash it away. In the TV era, Taylor is leaning into the escape, the beach, to show that she is finally clean from that time in her life and is ready to reclaim how we see that era!

Ava Jeffs

Maybe Slut! will be like Vigilante Shit in that she doesnt say the word slut more than once....especially if she is going to release it on radio and/or film a music video. Otherwise if she says the word over and over it will need a clean version and the entire song will need to be changed because of that one word. So, either she will say Slut in it but it wont be released as a single, or she wont really say the word Slut too much and the time she does say it, it might need to be changed for public radio? Just a thought. I feel like due to the name it wont be a single? Can you imagine 7 year olds running around singing a new song by TS called Slut at school lmao

renee

Say don’t go is giving HYGTG and now that we don’t talk is giving IWYW to me !!!

Ava Jeffs

It’s interesting that SLUT! has been added to that image from anti hero as it isn’t in the MV

Kirrily Lewis

I love the beach imagery and feel like it fits the vibe. I have been thinking about the Say Don’t Go track as her hoping they will say “don’t go” or I like the idea it has a double meaning. She doesn’t always have perfect grammar in track names so I’m not reading into it too much.

Kirrily Lewis

My daughter was born on the 10th Dec, she is also a Sagittarius and I gave her Taylor as a middle name 💜🩵🩷

Kirrily Lewis

10 November is also Grammy nominations day I think. Not sure if it means anything

Kirrily Lewis

I missed it too. A lot going on right now 😜

Kirrily Lewis

Ooo thanks for the suggestion. I feel like I’ve heard of her

Kirrily Lewis

For some reason “Say Don’t Go” reminds of that picture that circulated right when TS and HS broke up, where she is leaving their vacation on a boat, all alone. The title made me think of that for some reason, like she was on the boat wishing that he had said “don’t go”

Sol Gorlero

I just rewatched the video and SLUT! isn’t in it, so that image going around is altered

V Babida

I think your visual about them running about in a Black Suburban is awesome. I keep thinking about that……

Starsonscars

this theory about double album is just stupid, she won't do this bc she wants 1989 to outdebut the og and why she would drop two when she could have two #1 albums.. idk why this fandom came with this every single time

james

Actually Suburban Legends to me makes me think of I Know Places. The way it’s the last track while WTNY it the first track seems intentional. Sooo interesting!

Cara M

Suburban Legends is giving Holiday House

Cara M

say dont go is giving the bridge of afterglow and come in with the rain as far as the concept goes. like she was ready to leave the relationship but she really wanted her partner to ask her to stay with him. also suburban legends is giving new romantics and I CANNOT WAIT. also is it over now is giving me style energy: like we never go out of style, we keep breaking up and getting back together, so is this time the real end for us? is it really OVER now? kinda couples with out of the woods energy as well. CANNOT WAIT TO FATHOM THESE NEW SONGS.

Juliana Martinez

She’s recently trademarked Swiftmas 🙈

Danielle Evans

so far 1989 (taylor's version) is giving me the energy of reclaiming things from that era that were used against Taylor... first the squad and now Taylor is being papped with her real, true friends. Then the word 'slut' being used against her, and then the beach photoshoot which reminds me of her July 4th parties and the pics she would post on social media, but was trashed for at the time for being too flashy or too posed or too whatever they wanted to pin on her at the time. Maybe that's why she's chosen this direction for the album shoot? Also this new album looks and feels so much lighter, fresher and freer compared to the OG shoot. Don't get me wrong, I loved the original 1989 cover, but it feels very careful and restricted in comparison

Esther Newman

Stupid theory: what if she didn’t do the NYC theme again because she couldn’t find a private place to take photos at and not be seen. With the beach it’s more quiet and also could be a private beach she goes to in the Hamptons

Cowboy Like Evaaannn!!

Like where do I hide in literally New York??? The beach????? I’d LOOOVE to hear your comments on it. Am I delulu??

Gabriela

GIRLS!! 😭😭 My friend said what if the beach was THE place during 1989 (I know places). Maybe that’s why there was some beach imagery but she couldn’t make it obvious. The pictures she’s imitating in the back covers are also darkish~ I don’t know but I can’t stop thinking about it!!!!!!

Gabriela

this was so fun to watch: i would love to see you do more quizzes like these e.g.: https://www.sporcle.com/games/MiniMac723/taylorswifttitles https://www.sporcle.com/games/MiniMac723/taylor6 as a video idea <3

Julia Sarah

Please react to Chappell Roan. She also works with producer Dan Nigro and did some backing vocals on Guts. You'd LOVE the songs "My Kink is Karma" and "Casual".

Gia Axiotis

I’m sooooo pumped for SLUT!, i can’t handle myself.

Art3miS

Wow, great connection!

Aloha Record Sargent

Oooh, what an interesting idea!

Aloha Record Sargent

So true -- if she's out of the woods now, then she should be at the beach!

Aloha Record Sargent

THAT WOULD BE ICONIC

Daisy Ramirez

Hoping (also for Bonny’s sake) that suburban legends could be a friendship song like almost “the girl squad” energy of 1989 and how she and her friends are suburban legends on the street and own the town (similar energy to royals by lorde or some other song that I can’t think of rn?)

Liz

exactly

briar

wow, too many comments to float through. Is anyone else connecting the beach scenes to California, the coastal highway, and midnight rides with Harry Styles (or the beach video she put out for it)? Or, maybe the picks are from Hawaiian vacations with Haim? She also has beachfront at her home in Rhode Island; and NYC is surrounded by beaches in all directions. And as a kid, her parents took her to New Jersey summer (beach) vacations not far from where Jack got married. If she's ready for a beach party, no need to wait for the 4th of July.

Robert Thompson

The aesthetic is giving me Coney Island energy (not the song, the place). I think the bright neon lights from the 1989 set on tour evoke boardwalk energy, and most people forget that New York is in fact an island and has access to some really beautiful beaches. So perhaps that ties together the two themes... she's still IN new york, but slightly outside the city contemplating the loss of the relationship w/ harry, how the media has painted her, etc.

Maya L. Davis

Yes! Out of the Woods music video too!

Kera Wilhelmsen

A double album of features for 1989 makes no sense. The re records are to own her past work, not have it split in two with more people jumping in and singing lyrics she wrote.

Alvaro Jose

Thought this too!

Kera Wilhelmsen

i might not make it lmao

Amy Deanna

i would not survive

Amy Deanna

Yes, with "Slut!" I think Google was kinda like..."mmm maybe announce this one separate...could ya?" And she was like "sure! I'll have it come out of the actual vault first" so they wouldn't have people Googling that word?

Kera Wilhelmsen

Same!

Kera Wilhelmsen

Omg that would be ICONIC

Kera Wilhelmsen

Agreed!

Kera Wilhelmsen

Came here to say the same thing about THIS LOVE. It immediately evokes beach/water....and is even more sus since she already released it...she may want that imagery in the forefront of people's minds...? 🤔

Kera Wilhelmsen

Yesssssss

Kera Wilhelmsen

I think the beach for me is giving Hamptons. And I think thats the summer spot for a lot of people that live in New York. So I'm still getting the same vibe but more summery, kinda like Emily was saying

Christienne Rydlewski

WAIT, how did I miss the bonus track??? What?!?!? also, I'm claiming Suburban Legends (just the title sounds superior)

ELIJAH HATCH

Idk how much I'm clowning but 2 of the google vault clues led to Niall Horan and Sara Bareilles content for me...

Riley Swain

4 days ago TaylorNation posted a photo of a background that we already saw when the video is glitching and Taylor does a wink. In the caption she is talking about ~the glitch~ . In the song glitch she said 2190 days (= 6 years). On the cover of 1989(TV) you talked about the S at the end that look like a snake and the ION that seems like 10 November. Reputation came out 6 years ago on November 10. REP (TV) on November 10 2023? 😳😳🖤

Sarah Joannette

True about the city type visuals from 1989 tour, but also remember she was wearing sunglasses for the opening - very beachy. I feel like I associate 1989 with both New York City like the downtown city and the beach/summer in general

Jenna Aguirre

“This Love” and “Clean” have such beach visuals

Jenna Aguirre

I’m also super surprised by the no features, but I respect it. I wonder if the bonus track on the tangerine vinyl will be bad blood feat. Kendrick Lamar ?

Jenna Aguirre

I completely agree that “say don’t go”, “now we don’t talk”, and “it is over?” are all the same vibe

Jenna Aguirre

NYC has beaches, guys. A bunch of them. Going to the shore is definitely part of variety of life in New York.

TScout

I so connect 1989 to summer because when she released Shake It Off, I was at a beach house in North Carolina. It’s like… seared into my mind with that aesthetic.

Elis Llinares

💯

TScout

I think the reason it may not totally make sense yet is because we *literally* don’t have all the information yet, lol. Oh, and when I think “beach” for these new images, I actually get LA vibes! 🤷‍♀️☀️👙🏖️ 😎🍦😉🫶🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵

Jentallygirl

I’m with Brae back on the collab album, remember 1989 on the wall twice in The Man music video, lots of celebs have dropped hints, and that would be a perfect place for the Bad Blood feature. Thinking that’s what is going to come on Nov 10th

Amanda H

OMFGGGGGG. Stop right now 😭

Daisy Ramirez

ANNNNND New Romantics is the last song on the regular album, "I could build a castle out of all the bricks they threw at me" and "the rumors are terrible and cruel" and "SLUT!" is directly after this where we can only presume she will be talking about those bricks and rumors. 😭😭

Daisy Ramirez

Everytime I watch y’all react to things I get literal goosebumps

Paige Halas

I think the reasoning behind the switching it to more of a beachy themed album is she calling to those listening that are from smaller rural or suburban, and beachy towns to know that they too can have these experiences and also not be afraid of moving to a big city like New York. Especially the original cover of 1989 is she’s wearing a sweater of a place that is a part of her but she’s in a big city and now coming full circle and getting that perspective of how she was raised always being with her. Also suburban legends makes me think that it’s about those who move from small town suburbs to a place like nyc which is very difficult in many cases.

delanes_s

Thank you so much for these extra videos!! So fun to watch your reactions!! Also would love another friends fathoming video soon 🥰

Katryna Schuster

Omg, I was thinking since "SLUT!" is the FIRST vault track and Is It Over Now? is the LAST one, what if Is It Over Now? is like a "is slut shaming me over now" vibes ??? OMFG

Daisy Ramirez

“Slut” wasn’t in anti hero?

Daniel Jolley

I love that we, as a fandom, will not let Karma go lol ! Like we are all convinced it’s gonna happen. But I’m soooo ready for these vault tracks! But omg I’m soooo ready Say don’t Go, like idk what’s drawing me to that song but I’m just obsessed already.

Darren Robison

Also, I definitely think she’s giving clues in her street style right now - prior to the dinner with Sophie Turner, she was either alternating black and blue outfits or actually wearing black & blue together. At first, I thought it was an allusion to some type of 1989/rep double drop - but the more people are mentioning the two sides of NEW YORK being represented in these new album visuals, I feel like maybe 1989TV has another album (maybe an acoustic version, as a fuck you to Ryan adams) that she will surprise drop in 10/27, kind of like how she did the 3am drop for midnights. Ahhhhhhh I just know whatever she has planned is gonna completely wreck us.

V Babida

I feel like SLUT! will be similar to Vigilante Shit in that she’ll only say the title of the song ONCE.

V Babida

There might not be an explanation. We might just get reputation…

Erica Trull

To me summer in new york city includes several trips to the shore. It is the young summer vibe.

Rachael P

Forgive me if this has already been said… To me Say Don’t Go has a Don’t You vibe, where it could be taken both ways. Maybe it will mean Say “Don’t Go” AND Say, Don’t Go. You guys are the best as always 💜

Meg A.

I like the theory that she'll announce Rep on November 10th because she has a show in Argentina that day and then it can come out in February

Samantha Million

I’m laughing to myself - Emily I hope you don’t live too far away now and don’t often have to scurry back to Bonnie’s in a panic due to all these unexpected antics of Taylor’s. 🙃

Karen Valentino

I’m laughing. As soon as Bonny said “Sagittarius season” i go …Emily is gonna bring up the holiday album 😂

Shannon Gilhooly

for me, when i see these beach pictures, its still very New York vibes. It looks like the Hamptons or maybe Rhode Island/New England beach. Like a summer escape to the shore after a night out in the city. She’s in preppy colors and clothes too which is New York beachy, not California beachy

Jill

I feel like “Now We Don’t Talk” could be a Bad Blood sister

rissaannster

Yeah maybe, hmmm? I think since original 1989, this is her first album with no features, which is kind of a full circle moment

Emma

yeah totally! I think it's possible she's like comparing her actual experience of living in new york to the legends of new york she grew up with in a smaller town. But I don't know, could be some completely different concept as well, guess we'll just have to wait and see !

Emma

Totally! ✨

Julieta

My guess about all these songs that she hasn’t released or are not on physical albums yet (like you’re losing me) will be added at the very end. My theory is the end of this journey will include a box set of albums, of her entire catalog. And my theory is the Box will be called The Story of Us. This box Set will have album versions of all those extra songs she doesn’t have on albums yet. That’s what I think will happen.

Starbuck1234!

Say Don't Go it's the AYHTDWS sister!!!!! and Now That We Don't Talk could be a sister of HYGTG or I Wish You Would? Maybe?

Enzo Reis

Suburban Legends to me can mean several things, but I think the general idea is to reference something or someone as a popular urban legend. And urban legends, urban legends are a genre of modern folklore consisting of stories told as true – and plausible enough to be believed – about some rare and exceptional events that supposedly happened to a real person or in a real place. And urban legends are produced by individual authors or emerge spontaneously, they typically spread “virally” across communities and tend to change over time with repetition and embellishment, like memes. Based on that "the suburban legends" could meant the idols of the music or movie industry who walked on the magnificent and lively streets of New York. It also could be a sister of New Romantics and placing us (the fans) and Taylor herself as the next urban legends and how our relationship with her is something that will be known in history and will represent something unique to that time and place, as if we were suburban legends. And finally, a love relationship that was so significant that it left marks on the scenery of that city. As if even after the end of the relationship the memories of the two of you were a moral and emotional representation of an event that changed you and the things around you (the embellishment of that romance). And I think it will sound like New Romantics, Blank Space, Wonderland or WTNY.

Enzo Reis

Ooohh! yeah! or maybe it's like a story of us moment?! like the song is exploring how she felt and what she thought when she was in the phase of the break up where it'ls like we don't talk now but I still see you around and how she felt in those moments regarding this particular relationship. Idk, idk, exciting times ahead to fathom all of this

Emma

I saw someone say that they spelled out "your biggest hint is an S" but don't know if this is confirmed and I don't have a record of every single letter myself but if it's true like is she referring to S in version resembling a snake on the website and what is it a hint for? that rep is coming soon or there gonna be some glitch with rep during 1989 or is it like a hint to the vault being rep coded a little bit?? IDK!!!

Emma

I love how Emily simply had to stay over because of this madness! 😍😂

Annika

October 27th cannot come fast enough😭🩵

Maggie May

Suburban legends is giving the last great American dynasty. Maybe it’s about like when she moved to Rhode Island and everyone in the neighborhood was annoyed with a pop star moving in

Anna

What if “Is It Over Now?” was left last because … is it over now? Is the ALBUM over now? What if it really will be a double album?? I know this is a stretch and doubt it’ll happen but a girl can dream

Cat

yeah I was looking for a comment like this, cause I was like that's not how I remember it and checked and yeah not there. Unless it was in the beginning and removed or in the trailer with clips from all the music videos but I don't think so right??

Emma

Yeah this could totally be it!

Emma

I don't know if the strikes will be over until October, but Taylor working with Google on the vault gave me the hopes she'll do like a YouTube livestream to talk about the album, or maybe to release a single soon!

mariana

That’s what I’m feeling.

F1Swiftie

I thought it was strange that she ended with the track "Is It Over Now?" and not with Suburban Legends, as this track sounds more like a 1989 title and appears to follow the line of New Romantics, Welcome to New York, Shake It Off and Blank Space. But I think this track (Is It Over Now) will have a double meaning, meaning it could either mean that moment of questioning the pre-end of a relationship and whether things should really come to an end. Literally, the question is, is now the time to leave? Will this be the last time I let this love come back to life? But also how she must have felt during the extreme publicity of 1989. I remember well that at the end of 2015 and beginning of 2016 (before the apocalyptic summer) she gave an interview to a famous magazine where the interviewer questioned her about her next step (TS6) and she replied that after all the exposure with this era, as much as she was grateful and it was an electrifying moment, she would probably take a few steps back and disappear for a while. Because she started to realize that people (only the haters) were already "tired" of seeing her everywhere. So to me this song might sound like a prelude to Reputation, as if Taylor was also questioning her career beyond romance; Could it be my end after I reached the peak with 1989? Was this my last chance to do something great? Could this be the 1989's last breath after all the shine of the era? Is the 1989 era is slowly fading after all this massive exposure? Something along those lines. And thinking about the sound of this track, I think it could be something similar to This Love and Clean.

Enzo Reis

1989 is a NY album, but the city has two vibes: the beachy, soft side and the dancey, night vibe! This takes me back to the man wall, there's two 1989! One is white and the one we have seen up until now, and the other one is black/dark so maybe it'll be a collaboration album with the same songs or new ones!

mariana

Just a thought from a Swiftie who lives in NYC: I think the intersection of NYC and Beach is CONEY ISLAND

Chris Kelly

Exactly my thoughts too!! And I think that’s why she’s HEAVY on the beach aesthetics with Her version, bc it’s more intimate (no features). We know throughout the album that she often drove outside of town to escape the the crowds. And a NYC night version would be with other people, pushing forward the nightlife and socialite/squad vibes during 1989 era if that makes sense.

Miantsa

Perhaps her Holiday re-record will come out in Sag Season AND….. it will be full of collabs!!! 🤭❤️💚❤️

Starsonscars

Suburban Legends… this is making me think of driving around in the back of a black suburban. Will it be going out to party vibes, or maybe running from paparazzi vibes? So much to fathom!

Sara Brannon

Thoughts on the aesthetic change: While 1989 is indeed a New York album because of it being her move to New York, I don’t personally feel that it has an industrial feeling in its sound. I use the word “industrial” specifically to refer to like the architecture of New York; tall, angular, sometimes harsh. We have a lot of pictures of Taylor from that era with the skyline, etc., but she is floating above it all almost IN the crystal blue skies. The reason why I personally think this “beachy” aesthetic shift makes a lot of sense is because Taylor sees the “new soundtrack” as being a lot more FREEING and LIBERATING, like the birds and the beach and a carefree summer day. This also aligns with the re-records as well; perhaps she NOW views it in a more vast sense; she may have moved to New York, but it’s not all about New York, and I feel like these new photos are how she really felt INSIDE (like the birds on the inside of the crewneck and now they are flying). This is my personal thesis :)

Daniel Youngelman

slut! is either going to make me cry or be my fall anthem, there is no in between 🪩💃🏼💅🏼🤪

sav

What if it's a double album: daytime and nighttime

Jess D

Emily’s long hair era is OFFENSIVE looks so amazing !!!

Olivia

Maybe Slut! Is going to be a single because it was separated from the other songs

Michelle Reis

i feel like we're getting a double album.. i think that's why she's been wearing light blue and black.. the other 1989 is nyc at night and i bet it's an album full of collaborations

Julieta

Exactly! You get it! ❤️

Mercedes

Love yours, too! 😂🩷

Mercedes

I have the theory, that we got "slut!" as an extra little vault, because of some kind of agreement with google? Like they couldn't have people google her name and have her curse? Because of sensorship or something .. Just a thought

Maya

'Say Don't Go' is like the opposite of 'AYHTDWS'.

Cecilia Sparke

IM SOOOO EXCITED ! bonny your hair is OFFENSIVE

sofie sandrini

Just rewatched your 1989 breakdown and got so emotional. You guys talked about 1989 TV and just how Emily was freaking out just MENTIONING IT and now we are here😭😭😭😭

Sarah Sandell

The song «say dont go» gives me all you had to do was stay energy

Kjersti

She is totally edging us...there will be more vault tracks revealed with features I would bet my house on it.

Emma Brooker

I don’t think it bothers me much that she’s changing the aesthetics of the album simply because this is her vision and what 1989 means to her and I’m actually fine with it. The most important thing is that it’s a good re-record Which I’m sure it is

Samawi A

Totally agree I get very NY state vibes from the imagery...and I'm an Aussie lol

Emma Brooker

Okay so I live in NYC and I am banging my head a bit at you guys talking about beaches being contradictory to the NY vibes. She literally has Coney Island as a song for a reason. Plus the last great American Dynasty. It is SUCH a NY thing to go escape to the beach. Honestly I don’t think she is going back at all on it being a NYC album. I think she’s just helping the rest of the world understand that NYC contains multitudes.

Laura M

guys "SLUT!" was never written on the mirror for the anti-hero video 😂 it's an edit hahaha

farah abed

What if her and Laura Dern will play daughter and motherrrrr excuse me

Gosia Buzzanca

I‘m convinced „SLUT!“ will be a single that is why it was the only one she gave us in the vault video! I’m fine with no features BUT WHAT AM I GONNA DO WITHOUT BAD BLOOD FEAT KENDRICK 😭😭 that is my JAM and a STAN.

raheel

First of all I am watching this getting ready to get my hair done- twinsss bonnie!!! 😂 love the new hair 🍂

raheel

Guys i have a theory that 'is it over now?' will be be about the downfall of her career in 2016 especiallyyy cause it's the closing track of the album like WHATTT😭😭😭 it would make soo much sense and it would have such similar vibes to Castles Crumbling and Nothing New which were ALSO VAULT TRACKS😭😭😭😭😭😩😩😩 I AM SO UNWELL HELPPPPP

farah abed

I think ,Slut!’ will be kind of a mixed vibe of The Man and Blank Space

paulina

Honestly 1989 never gave me strong city vibes to begin with in fact most of the songs are about "getting out of the city" lol

Rhonwen Wight

ALSO max martin has returned??!! this is also iconic

Grace

So funny cause I’ve always thought of the beach when I hear songs like this love, you are in love and wildest dreams. Sonically I think it gives big beach vibes but there’s also some serious city bop songs!

Krystal Swamy

GIRLS we all need you to talk about the 112 days theory!!!!!!

Nora

going to put out more music. what if she is also working on a new album or rep.?

Dswiftie

we all know taylor never stops working. she told us she was go

Dswiftie

Is it over now ? being the new album closer is soooo concerning to me, can't wait to hear them all

Léa

The way we got "Slut!" out of the vault FIRST and by itself is giving me expectations that we'll hear it FIRST and by itself before the other vault songs - as a single prior to the album.

Laila Duffy

RE the beach theme. Just wanted to point out that Ryan Adams put out a full 1989 cover album in 2015, and the cover was a BEACH AND SEAGULLS. How did he KNOW?!? She must have guided him in that direction, so this has obviously been her vision for a long time.

Jed Knox

You guys should definitely watch tiktoks about the 112 days theory for the re-recordings!!! I think it seems super logical and realistic but still mind-blowing

yara abi karam

Love this!

Sara

I fathomed, i mean in midnights she started to dive down in her insecruties, her own shortcomings, who she is. What if we get a album called sagittarius and it is all about that. Kind of antihero but the whole album based on that deep dive in yourself. I believe many of us will go through som sort of ”midlife crises”, i don’t like to call it that because it is more about grounding and growing in who you are and all the things you’ve been through and how that form the person you are. Maybe thats what is coming👀

Sara

The beach on the cover reminds me both of the beach in the Out of the Woods music video and also the energy from Clean (like the water washing away the pain)!

Silke Huybrechts

I think the one song was in the traditional method is because I don’t think Google really wanted “slut” to come up in the search bar for a bunch or random people who aren’t aware of what’s going on 😅

Mikey

yes of course hence the Hamptons mention, but when we refer to new york we do mean NYC. We should specify going forward 🥰

Chats & Reacts

Would you guys ever think about maybe make a video reacting, fathoming, and chatting about all the theories and easter eggs people made on tiktok etc? There’s this one account who make a lot of theories. Especially about the 112 theory. I think it will be fun to discuss here. At least I want to have a discussion about it but I have no swiftie friends. Only you two. So… thoughts?

ArtsyPutsy .

I love watching you two try to fathom these things! I can’t help but feel there are more surprises coming. 1989 is obviously her favorite album, or one of them anyway. The Sagittarius thing has had me wondering since the VMAs- is that her next album title, or a song coming from 1989 re-recording era? So much to fathom 😄

Tess7

Maybe she is teasing “Slut!” as a single by revealing it separately from the other vault tracks!? Still trying to fathom why is was in the vault all by itself!! Also… For “say don’t go” maybe Taylor is saying to the other person “I want you to tell me that you don’t want me to go” sort of like, fight for me, ya know?? Say you don’t want me to leave… say don’t go.

Abigail Roney

I find it so interesting she keeps linking 1989 to rep. Like maybe she is trying to tell us these albums are sisters. Like rep was all about her 1989 era reputation crumbling and she wants us to know she feels there is a strong connection between the albums somehow. Like maybe it isnt an easter egg for her dropping rep just more of her linking the albums.

Beth Steel

Someone on discord said maybe reputation will not have vault tracks, ”there eill be no explanation. There will just be repuation”! maybe it will not be such a big thing so she might just release it so she can move om from it with all the feelings and things attached to that album.

Sara

I wonder if slut will be her embracing this moniker or her calling the media out on it. Like will it be giving all american bitch and a&w vibes? Will it also be like about people calling her specifically a slut or more about the culture of people calling young women in general sluts for dating and having fun? I think maybe the exclamation mark is confusing me a bit.

Beth Steel

Thoughts on the shining letters?!!!

Rosie Schofield

Still clowning over the 6th track being floor eighteen haha target cd exclusive like hits different maybe? Also cannot get over the key being the eras tour stage ARE YOU KIDDING ME

Lauren Matthews

Definitely hear “Say Don’t Go” as “Tell me not to go.” I heard legends in Suburban Legends as the way we say people are legends or do legendary things, not like suburban stories. But less confident in that than Say Don’t Go. Don’t love the mouth open photo, but ahead of the back cover it does give “we all scream for ice cream.” Which I have no idea how it would relate, lol,

Nicole Gordon

I replied to someone’s comment about this above, but I really think “is it over now?” is about her career and success during the 1989 era, and the emotions of coming out of that into the two years of nothing that we got before rep. 1989 era had the highest highs and the lowest lows, and there definitely had to be times where she felt that she would never be able to release another album again

Trevor

I mean New York does have beaches too lol. Looks like the pictures were taken in Long Island.

King Birdy

The album and back covers are very interesting. I am getting from them that mayble at that time the city was a very important part of 1989, but with almost ten years when she now thinks back to that time and her move to new york, the places that hold more meaning and value are her 'secret spots' like the beach. It could also reference maybe where her and harry spent alot of time together as we know that werent that often out and about in the city but rather secret spots like 'i know places'. Maybe these are the places? I also think that there is a possiblity she didnt use city imagery because as you said, lover and reputation became more new york city to her and 1989 became more about the new york fringes like the beaches and boardwalks.

Beth Steel

this is exactly what I came on here to say! I think ‘is it over now’ is going to have a ‘Nothing New’ and ‘Castles Crumbling’ vibe about her career, and will explore the emotions behind the two year period between 1989 and rep where she essentially went off the grid. During og 1989 era she would have felt like this was the peak of her career, and “is it over now?” is her asking herself if she will ever reach this level of fame again

Trevor

It makes sense why she went with the beach theme for 1989 tv cuz in the original 1989 era, she wanted to show that she’s no longer a country girly. She has fully transitioned from a country artist to a pop artist. And the best way to visually demonstrate this switch was to have photoshoot in NYC for everyone to see that she’s a city girl now. So people can be well aware that she’s a full-on pop artist. BUT NOW with 1989 tv, she no longer needs to have a city girl photoshoot to emphasize that she’s now a pop star (since basically the whole world knows that she makes pop music). It seems like with this new beach aesthetic for 1989 tv, she’s representing freedom.

Danny

“urban legend, also called urban myth, contemporary legend, or modern legend, in [?!] *folklore*, a story about an unusual or humorous event that many people believe to be true but that is not true.” Looking forward to finding out all the details of these vault tracks 🤗

Jenna Bolmgren

Also the teal top and possibly frozen yogurt??

Emily Denyer

Slut! being a slur reminds me of High Infidelity lyrics? AAAAH!

Emily Denyer

The first connections that came to mind with all of the beach images are the style music video and the eras dive! So much to fathom!

Katie

Ok no offense Bon & Em but I personally think she needs to pretend like the Holiday Collection doesn't exist 🤭🤣 HOWEVER I think that it's possible that someday she will come out with a brand new Christmas or wintry/holiday themed album! I would love to hear more original songs about Christmas/holidays/winter from her someday. Even if some of them were like tis the damn season in terms of vibe (like not that Christmassy, but winter.)

Sophie

Recently because she moved in with her boyfriend!

dmarie

when did emily move out?

sarah steen

Mulling over the beach theme, I just keep thinking that the original cover of 1989 didn’t give city at all. If I think of the new covers as having links to or cues from the old, lifting the blue sky and gulls from the original makes perfect sense. The disconnect for me started with the original album cover, which has zero references to any single in the album, or even the album title.

Karen Valentino

Taylor Swift Styled did a story series explaining how the beach fits perfectly in 1989 era, especially tying to the Rolling Stone cover shoot that those pics with her in the white tank are from (https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/the-reinvention-of-taylor-swift-116925/). That article was where she introduced the era and herself as a pop artist so it's really significant imagery. Also, as others mentioned, NYC is very beachy! I live in Brooklyn and I can take the train to the hustle and bustle of Manhattan in 15 mins and pristine beaches within an hour. I think it makes sense that now that she's older and has lived in NYC longer that she would evolve the imagery that way. The stereotypical journey of a transplant NYer is to be drawn to the bright-lights-big-city urban jungle, but that tends to lose its appeal pretty fast for most people, and they venture outward to quieter neighborhoods and places in the boroughs that are more peaceful. I think there's some powerful symbolism there that might parallel how her perspective on what she went through back then has changed (kinda like believing love should be burning red but realizing it's golden) -- coming to NYC and associating it with the things she describes in WTNY, but now associating it with this peaceful, pastely beach vibe shows a lot of growth and maturity to me <3

Meghan Carty

I sooo desperately want you’re losing me on streaming!

Amanda Watts

My first thoughts are it’s telling a guy to fight for her and for their relationship. “Say don’t go” telling him to tell her to stay and not leave, like “Tell me not to leave!” Course we won’t know until we know!

F1Swiftie

Yes! This seagull beachy vibe is very New York to me

Amanda Watts

Depending on the actual lyrics, “Now we don’t talk” makes me more strongly think that Harry’s “From the dining table” is about Taylor. https://genius.com/Harry-styles-from-the-dining-table-lyrics

F1Swiftie

I think it is important to remember that she wrote a lot of 1989 before she ever moved to NY in 2014 She spent a lot of 2013 at her new Rhode Island home in between Red tour dates Jack in an interview said the first time he shared music he was making with Taylor was in Rhode Island in 2013 He said they talked about both loving John Hughes 1980s movies. Taylor has said John Hughes movies were a big part of her inspiration for 1989. So the beginnings of 1989 came from the beach.

Scott

Now that we dont talk is either refering to harry styles or maybe a friendship that soured - I can only think of Katy Perry but I doubt she would have another bad blood type song on the album. More likely just a song reflecting on her and harry's breakup. Maybe like now that we dont talk I can actually move on or now that we dont talk i miss you and want you back? Now that we dont talk anymore i can actually see clearly that this relationship was actually quite unhealthy. Getting the vibes the song might be a bit angry - but I am actually desperately hoping it is a single girl song - like a postive now that we dont talk i can be a single queen.

Beth Steel

has anyone figured out the shiny letters from the puzzles yet? There were random letters that shined in different puzzles and I think thats another code!

Megan W

Say dont go is definitely going to depend on how she says it. Is it 'and now i say dont go or you say this and i say dont go - like a bit of a come back be here moment. Or i want you to say dont go or all you had to say was dont go like i wish you would and AYHTDWS situation. Or 'and he says dont go' like a style moment. Is she angry, sad, sexy - i just dont know.

Beth Steel

this :joy:

avery

Yes! Exactly! Taylor is basically doing what the rest of us native NYers do, leave the chaotic City for a calm spot (beach, park, etc) lolol. We leave the chaos for the tourists 😅😭

Jessica

say don’t go is soooo ayhtdws coded i’m terrified

Aubrey McMichael

'we live in fear' is too right 😅

Emma

just checked and the slut on the mirror is an edit 🥲

Aubrey McMichael

Thank you for saying this! I’m a native NYer too, and it kills me that so many people view the City the way Hollywood depicts it (basically Manhattan and city streets), meanwhile the reality is SOOO much more than that! I can’t believe people don’t realize we have tons of beaches, marinas, etc 😭🫠

Jessica

So excited for our new album closer - is it over now? When i heard it I immediately thought of question? Just since she is asking a question in both - and possibly to harry styles in both. Initially my mind immediately went to the harry breakup - like the whole 1989 was about their relationship and it is fitting to have the closer be the end of their relationship. Also fits in so well with their story, as their was never any security or certainty in their relationship, so it fits that the end of their relationship would also be so uncertain and have her uncertain if it is even over. BUT then I started thinking if this song could possibly be about her career. Like after this hitting all these highs in her career she could be wondering 'is it over now?' - this is a theme she had explored in almost every album up until 1989 so it could fit - but i dont now if such a vulnerable personal song would fit on 1989. Maybe a more nostalgic is it over now reflecting on her time in new york would fit better. Like welcome to new york was her arriving and is it over now is her rollercoaster ride in new york coming to an end.

Beth Steel

I think the beach theme is just an extrapolation of the seagull motif on the album cover; not necessarily related to the content of the songs.

BrooklynSwifty

unfortunately that pic of the word slut on the mirror in the anti hero video is only an edit lol

gracie

As a native NYer, born and raised, it honestly shocks me how many people don’t realize that we actually have a LOT of beaches, marinas, ferry’s, boats, etc. here. And yes, we have seagulls who like to fly around regular city streets too (mostly in the summer.) For $2.75 per ride, you can literally just take the bus/train to any beach around NY. It’s extremely accessible. And yes, Coney Island is one of those places. So I totally get the NY vibe when I look at these beachy photos. And, as a native NYer, I totally understand that vibe of needing to take a break from the crowded chaos of the City and venture out to a calm beach.

Jessica

You can get You're Losing Me on Youtube because i have the lyric video on realplayer

Jen Manchulenko

This is where she pulls the shania Twain pop and country duo albums! But maybe instead she’ll do pop and rock?? Idk with the edgy vibes she’s giving us with the streetwear

Joanna Ariola

So with regard to the no features, it actually makes a lot of sense since she had no features on the original (outside of bad blood but that was a remix). I think she might do the same with the vault songs. Maybe have the orginal on the album and then release a music video with a remix feature????

Beth Steel

Suburban Legends is probably the most intriguing one imo. Suburban is like the opposite of new york. She could possibly be refering to the partys she went to or had in a specific new york suburb but suburban sounds like a small town. Maybe this song is like her telling all her new york friends about small town life since she is from a small town - or maybe she is the suburban legend. Suburban also apparently means dull and ordinary. Legend is giving folklore so maybe this is like a story of a small town girl - but I dont know since 1989 was so autobiographical and all about that specific time in new york. I am leaning towards maybe a song about how new york lived up to all the suburban legends she heard about before she moved there.

Beth Steel

Could "Say don't go" also be her wanting her partner to say, "Don't Go" to her, but then he doesn't say it, and so she does indeed go? Makes me think of the Question...? lyric: "did you wish you put up more of a fight?"

Aloha Record Sargent

The photos actually look like they could have been taken down on the beach near her rhode island mansion... I wonder!

Jess D

The beach vibes make sense to me because we did see her alot with her July 4th parties in the Hamptons in the 1989 era.

Katie

I am convinced that a deluxe version will be released with all the glorious features.

Emzies

i am SO happy there are no features. there hasn’t been a single feature on a taylor song that i think was better than it would’ve been with just her

Aubrey McMichael

I don't think she will do the holiday album because she didn't write those songs because i have heard other artists singing Santa Baby, and Chrismas must be something more.

Jen Manchulenko

Ahh yes!!! This is what I've felt all along! Because it's beachy but not west coast beaches at all (also...love your name 😂🥰)

Mercedes

Loved everything about this, but especially when Emily took a moment to fathom the potential Easter eggs for the holiday collection being re-recorded. My Christmas wish for you is to get your two Stan albums and then toast the end of the year w your brand new holiday collection. 🎄🎅🎁

River

I genuinely believe there will be features but they’ll be revealed closer to the release because it makes no sense that all her re-releases have vault tracks with features and this one doesn’t

Marissa Herrera

As someone who was born and raised in NYC, the vibes of these new covers give me this sense that she left the city and took the train down to Coney Island to let loose and be free from the chaos of the city.

Mercedes

sharp as *knives* I mean!

Aloha Record Sargent

extremely concerned for say don’t go

Aubrey McMichael

suburban legends gives me the last great american dynasty vibes... it has me thinking about how the people in her neighborhood werent happy when she moved into holiday house. maybe the song is about that?? not sure how it would work but that was my first thought LOL. ALSO reminded me of mary's song, maybe its sort of like timeless where theres multiple storys or "suburban legends" about people who lived in the area?

camryn

I was initially a little disappointed that there would only be 5 vault songs after expecting 1989 to have the most. Upon reflection I've come to realize that it actually makes sense. 1989 was her most cohesive album sonically, visually and thematically - so it makes sense it is the album with the least vault tracks, as for a song to be included it has to meet very specific criteria, more so than any other album (also makes sense why red has the most vault songs - most diverse album so it would be easier to add more diverse types of vault songs). I truly believe Taylor puts ALOT of thought into vault songs and doesnt just add any song written at that time but only includes a song if it truly lends itself to the album. While she may have written a lot of songs during that time, they might not all have fit with the 1989 vibe. Its a little sad to think there are so many songs that we will never hear because they just dont have a home 💔 I just thought I would share my fathoming as it has brought me some internal peace and reignited my excitement for 1989 Taylors Version! Xxx

Beth Steel

Now that would be a dream!!!

Abby Thaine

Suburban Legends makes me think about New Romantics, Lavender Haze, and even "your picket fence is sharp as thorns." Maybe it will be about how the classic/traditional idea of the happy housewife with kids and a perfect home in the suburbs is all just a myth? Or that she doesn't subscribe to that notion? (This is obviously a complete guess)

Aloha Record Sargent

The suburbs are typical single family home neighborhoods outside of a city. Think white picket fence life… as soon as I heard that, that’s the imagery I got! Like settling down with someone in suburbia, having kids, that standard life. I was thinking it’s either a midnight rain vibe OR an I love you so much I wanna be suburban legends with you 😂

Amanda Watts

I feel like Taylor, nor Google, wanted to announce "SLUT!" on a worldwide search engine lol

Patrick Bogans

Suburban legends could maybe reference her and harry being subarban legends. Maybe that’s the “I know places” and the place is somewhere in suburbs.

Nish

She posted the back of the cd’s hours ago too and it’s there!!! That song is gonna be iconic!

Amanda Watts

i think it makes sense that there are no features. 1989 originally did not have any features. but i do agree with brae that we may get a second version of 1989 with all those features (bad blood with kendrick, something with harry, something with nicki, something with sabrina, etc) or at least a "more 1989" chapter with feature versions of those songs. i just have a hard time believing that there wont be more to experience with the 1989 TV era. like there just has to be more.

Katherine

This!

Tara Cabache

“This Love” was dropped because it’s the beach!! The whole song sounds like waves to me. It’s one of my favorite songs on the album. I’ve personally always felt this as a beach album. Think about the “Out of the Woods” music video. She begins and ends at the beach. She lost him but found herself. She’s now out of the woods. To me, this album artwork concept is the perfect embodiment of happiness. This is her “happy” album. The beach is her happy place and she’s “out of the woods” of the folklore era now. I’m SO excited for this album. I’m super intrigued by Slut as a song title. When I saw everyone debating, I was like NO WAY. It’s obviously lust. Jaw dropped lol. I can understand why this was a vault track and I need to hear it like, now!

Brandi King

Say don’t go immediately reminded me of Wildest dreams. Coz she says “Say you’ll remember me…” so it could be a similar concept

Nish

So being from NYC, it’s is a beachy town, it’s a coastal city - Manhattan is an island surrounded by water. There are boats and marinas everywhere. You can take a bus, ferry or subway to many beaches. She is just leaning heavy into the actual sand beach itself, but like Emily said- if you pan out the city is in the background! Also I think 5 vault songs just didn’t seem like enough - I am convinced she will randomly drop extra vault songs

Natalie T

TS Holiday Collection (TV) truthers rise 🙋‍♀️😂

Estelle

Imagery - Its maybe reflecting her beach 4thy july parties at holiday house!!

ttpd-24

It is so obvious because the S in TAYLOR' S is completely different than the S in VERSION, that S has a bit of a head, like a snake.

Antonella Furchi

Never in a million years did I think we would get a Taylor song called slut! I cannot wait!!

Kayy

It also makes sense because REP the stolen version came out on November 10, 2017

Antonella Furchi

Slut is on the album, i looked on her wikipedia page and the song Slut was among them

Jen Manchulenko

Someone found out that the S in the word Version in the 1989 cover that Taylor presented at the tour looks like a snake. And then the IO in version looks like a 10 and the N in version means 10N so that means that she is going to annnounce REP on November 10 at her concert in Buenos Aires , Argentina

Antonella Furchi

'Slut' wasn't actually written on the mirror in the anti-hero music video, its just an edit I'm pretty sure :))

Josh

ive always thought of 1989 as THE nyc album because it opens with welcome to new york. to me that song sets the entire album in new york. the thing is, new york as a state is very beachy especially long island (which is where im from). i can understand why shes going with a beach theme because like you said, shes probably spent a lot of time in the hamptons. im really hoping reputation has more of a city vibe in the photos we get :))

camryn

I think she is going to announce Reputation on the 10th of November.

Lindarose Farias

the theme for 1989 TV (to me I think) is clearly nostalgia. not beach. it is very beach coded but all these pics give me a sense of childhood wonder, like she misses the days when she was younger and could dance and eat ice cream on the beach.

danny k

the anti hero slut picture is a fan edit!!

Cassandra

There was a part of 1989 era that includes the Rhode Island, LA, beachy thing but I do think of NYC with the album

Ally ❤️

SLUT was not written on the mirror in the Anti Hero video, someone photo shopped that.

Katrina

I’m really interested to hear Say Don’t Leave bc that’s the most Taylor Swift song title ever. It reminds me of Stay Stay Stay, The Other Side of the Door, How You Get the Girl, Mine, etc. She has always romanticized hitting that breaking point with a person but then them saying they aren’t leaving.

Hannah Stiff

Ya know, New Yorkers (especially rich ones) go to the beach all the time in the summer. Look at all those little beach towns and islands everywhere. So maybe she was thinking more of the beach when she wrote it.

Jenny MacRunnel

🤞🏻🤞🏻

Ally ❤️

Thank you guys so much for all the content- it’s so exciting to live through this with you!

Ally ❤️

What if Suburban Legends was her first stab at the Rebekah Harkness parallels?

Jess D

It’s perfect!

Ally ❤️

Yay loved seeing your reactions! will just say that the beach vibe is not a huge departure from New York in my mind - the city has great beaches (by us east coast standards lol) and when I’ve been there in summer I’ve often gone to the beach :) but yeah that might not be her intention

Sam

i think she will release more songs w features or she’s just hiding the features in the song titles for now. those are just digital images so can always be added in. i feel like there’s still so much time before the release, there has to be more tricks up her sleeve. ESP since she knows how hard we were all clowning for offensive features

sabrina

WE ARE BEING FED WITH CONTENT FROM YOU GUYS & I LOVE IT

Katie LaFave

I actually think “is it over now?” is more “clean” pt 2, kind of reaching that 10 month period that she mentions in the song. “is it over now? are you finally gone? am i finally clean from you, from everything that’s happened?”, also because it’s the new album closer, so i think it’s more connected to clean than this love

Ivan

I think she’s doing a companion album with all collabs!!! 1989: The Remixes

Ally ❤️

Omg that’s so cute.

Aaron D in SF

There’s a theory out there that because there’s two written in 1989’s on the man wall that this is an album that’s going to have two different albums, so for this one being just her, and then the next one being with friends, so like all of the features, including Kendrick Lamar, and so on and so forth. I’m so excited for “slut!” Also, I do agree with you guys that it is confusing that she chose a beach theme for a very New York setting album but I feel like the beach is her happy place compared to New York and she is finally clean of all of the toxicity of what she went through during that time so she rebranded it to be more beach and relaxed!

Reese

omg i haven't even watched... but the way i chucked my phone when i saw my email inbox to get my laptop haha yayyyy!!!

• Sammy 🐍🖤 •

True! People would've used it. I mean they'll have the song version but her audibly saying it. Good point

Joe Weaver

I’m so excited! Can’t wait to hear all the new songs!!

Shaleigh Karnik

I need a eras tour stage key necklace IMMEDIATELY

Hana Hoffman

LOVE the hair bonny!!

Halie

Immediately decided to claim Now That We Don't Talk and Suburban Legends. So intrigued by all of the Vault Tracks! In the context of Now That We Don't Talk, I think it could end similar to IBYTAB instead of "He wrote a song about me", it ends with "I'm gonna write an album and it's called 1989!" Idk

Ben Kearney

Suburban Legends is so Lorde coded I can’t

Spencer Glover

bonny your hair looks GREAT and also i’m so excited and happy you guys caught this moment 🩵🩵🩵

Ava Joyce

TULSI FOREVER 🩵😅

Chats & Reacts

Guys guys guys! The first two tracks together make a full sentence?? “Is it over now that we don’t talk?” WHAT IS THIS SORCERY ?? 😭🩵🩵

Isaac St-Jean

no we just have sleepovers!! 🤩🛌

Chats & Reacts

IM SO EXCITED!!!

Corinne Urban

Did you move back in with Bonny???

Aaron D in SF

Omg, I love you so much for this 😭😭😭😂😂

Aisha 🖤

She was right, these may just be the most offensive vault tracks she's given us, and we haven't even heard them yet! I can't decide if "Slut!" is gunna be upbeat, or if it'll be the b-side internal sad venting version of Blank Space

Tara Cabache

Also she definitely didn’t put slut in the answer because we’d have that sound bite of her saying it to use forever out of context 🤣

Keri 🫶🏻

PS Tulsi, pronounced as (tool-see)
