So maybe that fits with the theory that Castles Crumbling is about that night (since Hayley is featuring)? Also, I wouldn't be surprised AT ALL if she changes Better than Revenge to be about Scott/Scooter instead. Because she spent so much time on Folklore talking about and empathizing with "the other woman" and in Long Pond she says that a woman stealing your man is a myth. So I think she has fathomed this and she very well might change the song. And I agree completely that the Liverpool music video could be an illustration of this concept (stealing back her albums as revenge). Plus, doesn't Joe Jonas now change the words of Much Better when he performs it? So that could be an inspiration for Taylor. NOTE: everything I just wrote is total speculation and I could be absolutely wrong. It's happened many times before 😂

To me hinting that speak now is next and 1989 is soon! Also… my daughter and I had caught on to the last kiss ending… “your name forever the name on my lips” years ago BEFORE the break up. We thought it was so romantic seeing that lover sounds a little like last kiss. She did say in an interview that some of her Easter Eggs are quite obvious and straightforward (just that we can never fathom them at the time hahah) I do like the idea of her making a music video for a Vault Track too tho, as she did for Red TV!

Plus if it was a heavier song, wouldn't taylor have just had all of paramore on the track and not just hayley on her own? I'm thinking the castles crumbling will start from off about John (sad empty town vibes) but will switch to be castles representing taylors faith, similar to how someone said foolish one will get a meaning switch

She says some tea and although they’re not talking specifically about Speak Now tracks she’s wearing SN purple and it definitely appears to be in that era! She talks a lot about her career, her life and her inspirations. There may also be a mention about what she eats for breakfast 👀😂 I thought of you two when I was watching it and think it would definitely be worth a Patreon watch! 💜

2023-06-14 07:56:54 +0000 UTCThat's wild, I was literally just thinking the other day about how a cool concept for a future album would be a Side A/Side B type thing with the same songs with completely different productions, and based on Jack & Aaron being so involved with her recent works I was initially picturing them each being the main producers for each version. It seemed like something that could be very on-brand for her as she's been playing two versions of herself in music videos for a long time: You Belong With Me, Out Of The Woods, Ready For It, The Man, Anti-Hero, etc. I love the idea for a Speak Now (Taylor's Version) (Acoustic Version) though.

My parents divorced when I was 22 (around same age as Taylor when hers divorced) and they are luckily still friendly with each other and hang out even especially for holidays, etc. to be there for my brother and I. However, it was an extremely hard time when they were getting divorced. I would love a song about this as I don’t really know of any that capture that feeling.

The 2009 version is more romantic and closer to the actual novel. Only version I've not cared for is Kate Beckinsale's. I normally like her but her Emma was unlikable.

2023-06-14 01:28:55 +0000 UTCI’ll tell you how I know some of the song titles / have heard them or pieces of them: befor YouTube was BIG there was a lot of live recordings and leaked recordings on there and they didn’t copyright claim like they do now, AND if you’re old like me (I’m 33) back in the day people would upload these songs to Limewire (illegal downloading software) and lots of live recordings of Taylor’s unreleased songs were on there !

But basically, in the series finale (SPOILER!!!!!), Daenerys burns the Red Keep (the main castle) and it crumbles down soooooooo that could've been an Easter Egg to Castles Crumbling.

Also, while I completely agree that Paramore and Fall-Out Boy's heyday is past them, both of them did release comeback albums in 2023, and Rolling Stone listed them both in their best albums of 2023 (so far). Don't know if Taylor's interest might have prodded them a little on the comeback trail--keep in mind they must have recorded their features some time back in order for the vinyls to be ready, and Taylor Swift being interested in your work would be a huge deal for anyone in the music industry today. And, by the way, I have never believed Speak Now is a country album! Mean, yes, but the other songs, no. Honestly, we need a new genre called "Taylor Swift". "Foolish One" could be Kanye--I hope it is not, because I can't stand that guy, but he is certainly foolish. I think Taylor has learned that when there is a feature, we want to hear the other artist, so I think both Fall Out Boy and Hayley will have significant roles in the songs. I am still hoping for a few extra Speak Now tracks on streaming only. It really could happen--streaming rewards artists who release lots of tracks and versions of tracks, and for someone who writes songs the way other people brush their teeth, as a form of daily self-care, that is perfect.

I am a major Paramore fan (Taylor and Paramore are my favourite artists) and the video was being shot in Liverpool around April 11th. Paramore's UK and Ireland tour started on the 13th April. We all thought it was really bizarre that Taylor was flying over here to the UK in middle of a 6 day break in tour to film a music video when surely it could've been filmed in New York (or anywhere in the US with grand imagery), so what if it was due to sheer scheduling conflicts because everyone was on tour at the same time and Taylor just thought "fuck it, I'll come to the UK"? Again, I'm completely clowning for any visual of Taylor and Hayley together because this entire Collab situation is going to put me into an early grave!

I think this would fall in line with her stopping off at Floor 5 before going to floor 13 in the bejewelled music video because the song could come out before Speak Now TV drops. I know is MAJOR clowning but now I've thought about it and deeped it this music I have full accepted I may as well join the circus.

When she played Mine in Nashville she spoke about how SN was the first album she really dived into her imagination for, and during the pandemic she said she had gotten back into reading and consuming different media. There is an adaptation that came out in 2020 (with Anya Taylor-Joy, it's good!) and I can see her watching it and remembering she wrote something based off that book OR off Clueless (which is a modernization of EMMA) back then. Coupled with the fact that, as you mentioned in the video, Emma falls in love with someone who is at least 10 years her senior. I think the reason it probably isn't about Emma Stone and Andrew is because Emma is married to someone else and has a kid now — I don't think she'd release a song about that relationship, even if she had one lying around. Especially since Emma and Andrew as a couple still have fans out there asking and wishing for them to get back together despite both of them having moved on by now.
