Like 1989 to me is SUCH a summer album and I think the rerecord would absolutely thrive between May and September. However, Speak Now to me is my winter album. With Back to December, snow references and the fact it was originally released in October and now we're getting that in JULY so I don't know anymore. I'm so done clowning because none of my rationalisation has led me anywhere correct so far

One, there are other locations that have more lake references geographically, like Detroit and Minnesota, but also because I ranked it with songs like False God that I thought were just a little too Joe-coded for her to feel comfortable playing, and yet she did. For both of these reasons, I think she chose to play The Lakes now, in spite of the painfully romantic references to her and Joe and their trips to the Lakes District, in light of current events within the fan base. There is the issue of the public backlash around Matty (cynical clones) and the crazed fans waiting outside the studio and chasing her car home (hunters with cell phones). In the current climate, I think the line "I don't belong, and my beloved neither do you" could apply to her relationship with Matty and how she is likely sick of them both being judged and attacked over a relationship we know nothing about. A lot of people have been saying that, if fans aren't careful, if they keep scaring, chasing, and stalking her, she might just disappear again after tour. The choice of this song could be a similar warning from her to the cynical clones and hunters with cellphones.

The movie went from black and white while Dorothy was in Kansas and only when she entered Oz was the movie in color. I believe, similar to the midnight coffee being a “This Love” lyric visual, the Wizard of Oz inclusion is a 1989 reference: “The rest of the world was black and white, but we were in screaming color” - Out of the Woods. So I think in part, Wizard of Oz is a 1989 reference. Additionally, the nails at the end of the Karma MV on coffee clock have the 1989 nail on 8. Then there is the august hourglass (it is exactly the same as the folklore merch). August of course is the 8th month, but the song august is also the 8th song on the 8th album. Similar to Taylor opening Eras with Miss Americana, 7th song on 7th album, which was an Easter Egg for SNTV release on 7/7, I believe these Easter Eggs are pointing to 8/8. Plus: Wizard of Oz initially came out August 25, 1939. August 25th this year is a Friday. 8/5 is one of the final shows, a Saturday (date adds to 13) and 8/8 is also part of this final leg. And now August 24, 25, and 26 have been announced as Mexico City Tour dates. I think Taylor will be announcing 1989 end of US leg and releasing something at the Mexico City shows. Oh and the final unhinged bit of the theory: 8/25 is also Blake Lively’s birthday. And at Taylor’s 2019 NYE party, which was themed Childhood Heroes: Blake dressed up as Dorothy

I really hope she resets the surprise songs for the international dates, specially because some songs have such a different impact in other countries. For example Long Live (a song I can't picture her not singing on the american leg) is also the first time I think she did a remix of one of her songs with a female artists and it was in Brazil with Paula Fernandes, so I don't imagine she not doing it in Brazil even if it's just her (which I prefer actually). I also think since it's been so long for some countries (I'm a Brazilian boy living in Argentina so it's been a long time coming) that we do deserve some fan favourites that's already been played. I'm fighting for tickets next week and I'll be freaking out if I do get one and what my surprise songs would be.

2023-06-03 07:41:36 +0000 UTCWhen I FIRST watched the music video I was getting hints of all the albums but of course the push for her releasing 1989 and Reputation but the hourglass looks awfully purple like the sand in it and that was something on sale on her website a while ago & just hints at lots of things but the Dorothy thing especially how she waves to the “reputation” side that they are opposite sister albums, like rep is dark and lover is light and they are neighbors because she waves and blows a kiss which gives lover energy but that’s just something i thought of in reference before looking into the video a whole lot so I still have no idea what that MEANS!! Love u gals!

The pre-show timer starts at 2:24 and the clock face is in the same position as it is on the coffee. With the hands holding the coffee with 1989 on one side and reputation on the other. So she was clowning for a release in Feb of next year. She was clowning for TS11 or the "missing album". I don't know about that but the clock clues are very intriguing and certainly mean something.
