Camera system

One guy even refused to believe that it was a game, not because of the animations (which is the usual suspect), but because of the camera. He said that game cameras don't move like that, or something. And I agree, they usually don't. They're usually boring, stiff and uninteresting. Whenever someone thinks Dragontwin gameplay is a pre-rendered cinematic, I consider that the highest form of compliment. So clearly, cameras are important in that respect.
For the camera system, I want to include several camera modes that let the player see their dragon in all its glory from different perspectives as if it was a movie. This is similar to for example the cinematic camera in RDR2 that you can activate on horseback, or the action camera in many racing and flight sim games. The player can also adjust the regular flying camera to different distances from the dragon and toggle if it should spin with the dragon or remain unlocked, and even toggle it back and forth depending on the mood (immersive/intense or more smooth sailing).
Another related feature that would be very cool to include is a photo mode where you can pause the game and enter a free camera mode to capture an epic snapshot of the dragon and rider in flight or battle. With the planned extensive dragon customization, you'll be like a new parent capturing every moment of their baby's life and posting it all over Instagram.
