I’ll be 47 next month, and became a serious Swifty just after Lover was released (but always loved the singles before that)… anyway, one year ago in Jan 2022, I suddenly got this crazy idea while watching Taylor play Cornelia Street in Paris (for the hundredth time prob, lol)… maybe I could actually learn to play guitar? 😃😍🎸 I’ve literally NEVER thought of playing any musical instrument EVERRRR in my entire life, lmaooo… but Taylor makes it look so accessible! So, I bought my first guitar a year ago (and now have quite the fantastic guitar collection, including several Taylor Swift inspired Taylor guitars, that I LOVE SO MUCH! 😂🎸❤️😻), and have literally taught myself how to play guitar by watching Taylor tutorials on YouTube, and watching her ENDLESS performances online. And now, one year later, I can play pretty much any Taylor song (at least on a beginner level, which is good enough for me!)… it makes my days sooo joyful, which is quite the amazing achievement, since I’m actually disabled and home full time from an illness that came on 6 years ago. I actually make sure I play something every single day for my own positive mental health! 😻🎸 I’m sooo grateful to Taylor for inspiring my guitar journey, AND to you and Em for being part of my online “village” and helping my life feel ALIVE! 🙌😘💕 So Bonnie, if you haven’t started yet, I totally encourage you to start learning guitar by following Ms. Swift 😉… and Nena Shelby on YouTube for actual tutorials. She’s done sooo many songs and is a super Swifty, lol… 😜 love you girls!! xo And PS: What kind of guitar is behind you in your video background?? I’m always trying to get a good look, lol… is it a Taylor?? I. Love. Taylor. Guitars. 🥰 (Among others 😉, I have the red acoustic guitar 🎸 that TS used on the RED tour, ahhhh! 😻🫶)

Plus, there is brick walls which is very the style of her NYC penthouse. We can rule out Rhode Island, and Nashville (again I could be very wrong but I think her Nashville penthouse is where she was fixing dinner for Abigail. I have heard she hasn’t changed it since she bought it and it is very eclectic and interesting). And she has sold 2 of her 3 Beverly Hills homes. Her Beverly Hills home she has now is very old and and historic. It’s the Goldwyn house (Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, or MGM) and she is only the second owner. She petitioned and won to put the house on the historic registry. I think since she restored it and put in the time to put it on the registry, she will keep this house. Point is i don’t think this house is where she is playing the piano. I think this is one in her NYC apartments/compound.

I’m sure she had a hand in the decision making of the topics and how they were portrayed, but it says something to me that she did not produce it.

So being a goofy stat brain person I went & figured out the average song length from each album.

One thing I will say is that I started watching reactions when the re-records started happening because I loved watching swifties reactions to new variations in what Taylor was doing in them. Quickly I gravitated towards Bonny and Emily because they were so bubbly and giddy and the screaming it was just all so cute and improved my mood. The one thing I didnt expect was now everyone else doesnt measure up. They have ruined me for all other reactors for Taylor now. Lol Thank God for Patreon!! Bonny and Em, I have a feeling you might want to do a breakdown for Debut and Speak Now. Want to know why? Because as soon as you do we will hear from Taylor. I think that's reason enough. Then she was at the December 2019 Jingle Bell Ball in London, and she was on BBC's Live Lounge and NPR's Tiny Desk. All of these are on Youtube. And I think there are others. It is astonishing to watch Death by a Thousand Cuts; it does not really seem possible to perform that song. And watching her perform London Boy is always awesome!

I know the song Tolerated It, is framed as a relationship but I wonder if it could also reflect her relationship with the media as well. It could kinda be like a Mirror Ball moment. 'wait by the door... use my best colors' could all like in Mirror Ball the line 'all I do is try, try, try'. And even the line in the bridge 'take this dagger in me and remove... gain the weight of you then lose it' etc. could be parallel to her ideas in songs like The Lakes, and The Lucky One, where she escapes from the eye of the media, and the parts of fame that hurt her. And then Tolerate It ends on sitting and watching the public, and not leaving because she is still 'tolerated.' I know it's probably not meant to be that, but it would give it more depth to why it's a track five rather than Happiness, which a lot of fans say feels more track 5ish.

A lot of critics could not get past the fact that we are talking about someone who is insanely wealthy and has won so many awards, and who is clearly strategic about promoting her image. And so some critics wanted to write Miss Americana off as just another example of celebrity image control. But it really does not feel that way. She seems completely genuine. It is just so easy for cynical people to say "That is what she wants you to think". I can't even convince my own wife, in fact. But if you look at all of Taylor's public appearances, she is completely consistent over the years; she is always the same person. No one can act that well! So I believe that with Taylor, what you see is a true reflection of who she is at the time. She is not fake and has never been fake.

That is a weird moment, I have to say, because it is not that relatable actually. I mean, no one but Taylor (and now Billie, I suppose) could expect to get a Grammy nom for every single record. But your description of her not fully breaking free from the need for praise seems right on; after all if she really didn't care she wouldn't need to blast out about it like she did in Rep.. Also, it is important for us to remember that critics did not like Rep very well, and there were prominent people who said she would not be able to sell tickets for the tour. That is why I think the tour was such a validation for her.

Anyway, I noticed that throughout almost all of the Rerecorded content (or any time you mention potential rerecords) you guys mention that stuff sounds a little different. I felt the same so I went on a deep dive of research and I found out she legally HAS to make them sound slightly different from the original because her case to rerecord is built entirely out of paper. It's like one clause of a law that allows her to do it. Because she wrote all of it (bless her) she has special rights to it. Just FYI for anyone who didn't know and TEA for anyone who did because literally ONLY TS could do such a superior thing.
