Apple was the name of the Beatles record label. Taylor also spent some time with McCartney and pushed back a release so not to compete with McCartney’s latest release.

i've been hoping for Speak Now. I don't think she'll release 1989 until the lawsuit is done. For the Speak Now issues, on a discord someone had posted screenshots of the legal issues with it, it looks like she can use the name but can't ADVERTISE for it. This strengthens my thoughts that Speak Now is next since we've heard nothing from her. I think she'll surprise drop it in April or May, maybe May 13th since the fandom thinks something may happen that day.

Honestly I was always a fan when I heard her songs on the radio or saw performances. I think I just didn’t jump on from the beginning bc I didn’t listen to country as a teenager, and in college I was in my niche already…I’m a bit older at 38 so a lot of the music streaming services were just getting started (Napster and limewire were popular when I was in school lol). Plus motherhood and kids sucked me into a hole and I didn’t keep up with pop culture and music like I did before. Honestly when I saw miss Americana and I realized that ALL of the amazing songs I loved were all her and she had so many amazing albums, eras of reinvention, the lyrics connecting in ways only her fans could understand…I was captivated and my mind blown at her artistic genius to have this much longevity. Folklore really had the biggest impact. I always connect with lyrics in music and she is a Queen. I’m so embarrassed honestly that it took me so long to love her this much.

You’re soooo right!!! Omg I would LOVE to know. We talk about this with our friends a lot. Like firstly she hasn’t toured lover folklore or evermore plus all the re recordings will surely be completed by the time she tours next. But she’s taking her time with the releases so who knows when she’ll be done with that. Plus also HOW is she going to make this tour work with 3 albums and vault tracks, PLUS she indicated in peace that she wants babies and she’s 33 this year and that has to happen sometime! I totally agree. It would be so interesting to know what she’s doing with her time. I feel sure she’s done 1989, I mean we got Wildest Dreams in October wasn’t it? But then I also feel like if she has recorded most of them, and the whole point is to own her music, it’s interesting that she’s really taking her time with the releases. With regards to the rep comments, I actually do think that legally she can’t record until November either. The only reason I say this is because she acknowledged she could finally start recording when November 2020 came around, not that she could finally release, otherwise I think we would have got Fearless a lot earlier than April 2021, but who knows!!!!

Honestly I am still such a “new” stan (thank you, folklore and this channel!!) I am just not used to waiting what feels like forever for new music. I LOVE all her collaborations so I’d be happy with anything she decides to share with us. I’m just in awe of her! I feel like speak now maybe is next because it’s more country and she sounded amazzzzing on I bet you think about me. I watched a YouTube interview last night of speak now era and she talked about how she just never stops writing and how many unreleased songs are out there. It was ICONIC bc the interviewer asked if she would ever release those songs…I died. She also talked about the Sparks Fly process and how the fans begged it to be on the album and she went back and reworked it and it was her longest song writing process at the time. I can’t imagine watching her perform w 50 people as a 16 year old and being so blessed to follow her this closely for so long.

This is so amazing to me. I was always a fan, but I never really dived deep into her career and album, songwriting genius, progression. Once folklore and miss Americana came out I was floored and dove down the rabbit hole of content, including this amazing channel. I am obsessed with her growth as an artist and it’s just amazing how she maturing and creating her own industry and the world/fans support her. This is not really on topic, but Taylor is just so free now, and I am so down for it. The reputation era set her free from public opinion (thanks to the fans embrace of her, especially on tour), and the label battle set her free from her record company, and honestly I think Joe set her free from her advisors' well-meaning advice (sorry, Scott Swift, I am looking at you). And then the release of Folklore and its overwhelming success I think made her free of industry conventions. The playing field is completely open to her now, and I am loving it!

While everything both of you say is true, it is a bit of a risk for any artist, even Taylor Swift, to stop her forward momentum by concentrating on old work. So I kind of want her to get done. And also I think the fire of anger at Scooter might die down over time. No one has ever attempted a re-recording project of this magnitude before, I don't think. So I feel like she should strike while the iron (or her anger) is hot.

Actually, I heard a theory called the 135 theory. Like for when she was on Jimmy Fallon and she picked the 3 boxes in the order 1, 3, and 5. All odd numbers by the way. But anyway, 1 for debut, 3 for speak no and 5 for 1989. That could be the order.

I'm really curious to know how she is spending her working time. Given how fast she works, and how little time she seems to be spending on all of the other stuff (planning tours, marketing, social media), she could have accomplished a lot in this time. It is not impossible that she could have finished debut, speak now, and 1989 by now, and is just waiting for the right time to release them. (I feel like reputation would take more psychic energy so my guess is she has not started on that). Or maybe she is just taking it easy, though I'm not sure she ever takes it easy.

What I'm thinking is Speak Now could be announced this month (as it's her 3rd re-recording for the 3rd month of the year), and maybe be released in April? This is because she has released albums at the season / time of year they represent, e.g Red in November (Autumn), Fearless in Spring. Speak Now feels like a late winter / early spring album to me. Anyway, it's fun to think about, and who really knows? Only Taylor. :)

For those who want to know about the “court case” it’s actually a trademark dispute. There is a television company who has a part of their technology that they have branded (copyrighted) called “Speak Now TV” and so you can see the potential confusion. It’s more of a hiccough than a complete barrier at this point… but it may have definitely slowed her re-release plans down a bit.

I googled "Speak Now Trademark" and there's a little bit of info. In summary, "OnePlus" has trademarked the phrase Speak Now so it could create an issue with SN TV...with promotions and marketing. Not sure how much that will slow down the album release. I believe Taylor's team has filed a claim and are waiting on a response from the other company to give the green light of use. So we'll see!

I believe it was released November 2017...and I think the agreement is she can't even begin recording until 5 years after it's original release date. So November something 2022 she will start recording.
