2022-02-20 04:38:27 +0000 UTCI've always been fascinated with the period of time between 1989 and Reputation. How many songs were written and never saw the light of day? We know from the pandemic, and Folklore/Evermore (not to mention her previous output!), that she seems to always be writing. The media scrutiny was so intense at that time, and then the hitting bottom and recovering that ended up producing Reputation, something must have come before that! Did she write about all she was going through, and then start to feel that it was just too much to add any more fuel to the fire, with all the scrutiny she was under? I would love to know more about where her head was at with the end of the Calvin relationship, and whatever happened with Tom. It really feels like we do not have the whole story there (though Getaway Car is an absolute favorite!). On that line of thinking, I wonder if she would ever consider writing a book to really give her side of things (more the business half perhaps)...otherwise, so fun to get a chance to support such great content from you both!!!

I’ve actually been having a real moment with lover and 1989 recently and those two actually aren’t as high on my list but everything she does is just perfection and it’s like I forget that sometimes listening to my personal favorites? Like my holy trinity is Speak Now, Folklore, Reputation, I just simply cannot even begin to process those masterpieces absolute no skip iconic albums but like literally almost every SINGLE song on 1989 was a single? How are blank spaces, style, out of the woods, bad blood, wildest dreams, and New Romantics all on the same album? And then every other song was just as good? And then I haven’t listened to lover in a while and I feel like i forgot how good it was too like how does everything she makes just be perfection? But I am DYING for Speak Now TV with her grown up vocals I think a lot of people are going to like that album much more when TV comes out and we will get vault tracks??? I’m going to die. And I cannot even FATHOM what reputation TV will sound like??? Like with fearless and red the production was kicked up a notch and the mixes were clearer but they were also much older and the production and sound engineering has come so far I feel like what would they even change? Will she just re record it exactly as is because it’s already perfect? And the fact that there are songs on reputation we haven’t heard is TOO MUCH to think about but WOW I really hope there’s a Scott and/or Scooter diss track because that would’ve been the era to do it and she would’ve known at that point that she was leaving and Scott wasn’t giving her her albums - I could talk about this all day haha

(I mean foklore is low, maybe last, on my TS album ranking but I love the album now)

I see the re-recorded tracks as two different tracks and sometimes I just need the original one. And I'm really worried about Speak Now and debut because those will probably sound SO different and are one of my favourite albums.

In saying that, she is a songwriting machine which makes me think that there is always songs from around each era floating around that can’t make the cut. 2022-02-12 09:59:19 +0000 UTCOkay so my theory is that she doesn't have any Lover vault tracks. I think it was the first time she was allowed to make whatever album she wanted. Like I firmly believe that Message in a Bottle wasn't on the OG Red not because she didn't think it fit, but because Scott was still so afraid of her "alienating her country fans" (so annoying that he never believed in her even though she was constantly proving herself) but with Lover I think there were so many tracks on it because she wanted to get everything in and really make it her creation. Idk just my thoughts lol. Also she said during the 1989 Grammy producer interview thing that she wrote three songs with Max Martin for Red two of which made it on the album and she said "and that's as much as I was allowed to work with Max on that album".

2022-02-12 08:31:51 +0000 UTCI feel like when I don't listen to an album of hers for a while, I can forget how good it is. Then I listen to it again and I realize "OMG! This is a amazing!". I think Lover is an easy one to underestimate because the production is so frothy and we are trained to see that as meaning it is not serious, and even a bit embarrassing (ME, You Need to Calm Down). But those songs are great, even if not the all-time greats like Cornelia Street, The Archer, Lover, Daylight. and of course Cruel Summer.

Lover was the first album that I got the chance to experience as a swifty (even bought lover fest tickets), so I understand Bonny! I've never heard Debut and Speak Now (only the singles) and I've decided to only do it after the rerecordings (I know it's offensive, but I did it with Fearless and it made sense to me...kkk). I also have an attachment to Rep because it was the first album I listened to, back to back. It's hard to pick favorites. 😱

Outside of the singles it was all new to me. I've seen both the 1989 and Reputation tour videos though and watched your breakdowns so I'm more familiar but Speak Now and Debut are unknown entities. I've got albums though that I know every tiny detail of so I can really understand the struggle.

Each album shows me a different version of myself (Taylor’s a mirrorball you could say 😉). Speak now is a self-written masterpiece (and it has Enchanted, which makes my heart soar like I’m in a movie), 1989 can get me dancing on my worst day (plus wildest dreams just puts me in a euphoric state of mind), Fearless put her on the map and brings out my county era as a North Carolinian, Red has the best song she’s ever written and Fall is my favorite season, Lover is iconic (daylight during a sunset walk = heaven) and SO under-appreciated (as a cancer it brings out the hopeless romantic in me with Cornelia Street), Reputation is for when we need a girl boss moment and the tour was unmatched, Debut has eternal nostalgia because I remember singing cold as you in the car with my sister during her first heartbreak, and folklore/evermore are just on an entirely different level in terms of lyrical complexity (also I could die happy listening to the illicit affairs and ivy bridges on repeat).
