Within Aria’s Ship

Not long after Asher’s beloved servant and mother leaves, Asher takes his place on the large cat seat within the giant room.

Of course, his beloved servant and mother is usually the one who sits on the seat, but that’s just because she herself also serves as his seat.

It’s only right, after all, for the beloved servant and mother to be a part of his grand throne.

And Asher feels pride as he sits up tall with his tail pointed up at the sight of his beloved servant and mother going around outside of the strange object slaughtering the mice outside. Because anything his beloved servant kills must be mice that deserve it.

His beloved servant knows what’s up.

Asher lets out a quiet meow at that thought before glancing over at the idiot that’s been following them around. The one who is currently hopping from one foot to another looking like he wants to join Asher’s beloved servant in her extermination.

An honorable task, but not one the strange idiot is worthy of.

Because that’s what his beloved servant and mother said when she told him to stay put. He must be much lower in the hierarchy than anyone else Asher has met.

But he’s not doing a good job. The young servants who used to stay with his beloved servant and mother did a far better job serving him when they would bring him milk and fish regularly whenever he desired it. The servants that give off the same vibe as his beloved servant and mother.

This idiot, on the other hand, only occasionally pokes at Asher and tries to pet Asher when he’s bored.

Asher lets out a huff before lying down flat on the chair, only keeping one eye on his beloved servant’s pest extermination. Silently hoping that she’ll finish soon so that she can return and pet him some more.

Because her pets and scritches are the best.

After a while, Asher feels the hairs on the back of his neck stand up, making him lift his head to look at the idiot. At which point he finds said idiot turning his attention towards Asher.

Asher’s ears fold backwards against his head as he narrows his eyes at the idiot who dares try to touch him.

When the idiot’s hand gets too close to Asher, Asher bats it away with his paw.

The idiot’s eyes narrow before his mouth quirks upwards. Then the idiot tries again, with Asher once again batting it away.

And just like that, an intense battle begins to defend Asher’s honor. One between Asher and the idiot tailing his beloved servant and mother.

Over and over again, Asher bats away the idiot’s encroaching hands and attempts to scritch. But eventually the idiot manages to pet Asher, making the hairs on the back of Asher’s neck stand up.

“Gotcha, little guy!” the idiot exclaims with a grin, declaring his victory over Asher.

Asher hisses at him.

After that, Asher and the idiot proceed to fight with Asher avoiding and hitting the idiot’s encroaching hands. But thanks to the idiot’s far greater strength – his only potential plus as a servant in Asher’s mind if he wasn’t such an idiot – Asher loses almost all of the battles. Leaving Asher hissing and meowing in anger.

This isn’t the first time this has happened since the idiot appeared, and it’s making Asher wish for the idiot to leave as soon as possible. Not only to stop bothering his beloved servant and mother, but also to stop bothering Asher.

The two continue fighting their own battle separate from the battle going on outside of the object for a while before the other objects visible outside through his beloved servant’s miasma and death energy finally depart. But Asher barely notices it in the middle of dealing with the idiot.

Even after his beloved servant and mother finally returns and finds herself staring in bewilderment and some minor amusement at the sight of Asher and the idiot’s battle, Asher doesn’t notice.

Until his beloved servant comments out loud, “You two seem like you’re having fun.”

Asher jumps out of the seat straight into his beloved servant’s waiting arms before whining as she calmly pets him and rescues him from the idiot.

Meanwhile the idiot in question just grins at his beloved servant and says, “Your companion is a riot to mess with. I wish mine was as fun, but he’s already grown used to it.”

His beloved servant just rolls her eyes with some amusement in them as Asher sends an angry glance towards the idiot and hisses at him.

Wishing more than ever that the idiot would leave and never return.
