Ashley
“So we all agree to participate in the team game for the Planetary Official System Event?” the Successor of Order’s voice echoes throughout the Council Chambers of the Planetary Council. But I just find myself yawning as I leave all of my business matters to the people in the booth alongside me.
“Very well,” my System Guide says with a nod of his head, which is reciprocated by the various other individuals in my booth. Including Dhalia Velonna Blight, The Queen of Purgatory and one of the three Successors of Death, Xan, the Tower Master of the Tower of Chaos whose name I’ll never remember, along with a few other leaders of important groups. Like the King of the Dragons, Volcan, and the Lord of the Netherworld, Voriano.
Pretty much all three of the Successors of Death.
Who all work closely with my forces on Val in the hopes of getting me to like them. What with that ridiculous thing Hel decided on for choosing the True Successor of Death.
Not that I’m really complaining since it gives me some very useful helpers.
At this point I don’t even care that I’m showing my disinterest. It’s not like it really matters anymore.
And I’m stronger than anyone who can actually use their power here anyway.
That said, I’m mostly just wanting to go back to Val so that I can go do my trial to reach Class C. Since I was pretty much dragged here soon after getting back. After allowing the other people to enter Val, that is.
So I haven’t had a chance to do the trial.
Which is just another Official System Event, but still.
Anyway, the people in the council continue discussing matters one after another. But I don’t really care about the other matters.
The only one I had any interest in was the next Planetary Official System Event. Which they’re planning on doing in teams to give the other people of Val a chance to actually compete and get some fame.
Instead of just throwing me in there and letting me slaughter the enemies.
That said, I’ll still be doing that. It’s just that the others’ scores matter as well.
Not just mine.
They came to this agreement after giving away a couple Spires to me as compensation. Which was something the System Guide and the others with me said would be beneficial.
To have more Spires.
Although them doing that was mostly just being nice since they technically didn’t actually require my approval.
They just wanted it thanks to my power and influence.
I glance down at my lap where Leo is sitting, with the little tiger cub just snoozing away without a care in the world. Making me smile at the sight of him before running my hand down his incredibly soft fur.
His fur is softer than silk. Softer than anything I’ve ever touched before.
And with how cute and adorable he is, I really want to pick him up and squeeze him in a hug.
But I won’t.
Not until after the meeting, at least.
On another note, I pull out the little pill I got as one of my many rewards from the System Tower. A pill that I’ve been debating on how to use for a little while now.
Skill Purchase Token
Description: A token that the user can use to permanently unlock one skill they have locked at no cost.
Affects: Permanently unlocks one locked skill for free.
The decision about what to use the token on has been bothering me ever since I saw the thing. But I think it really would just be best to go with Chaos’ idea of using it on that one skill.
It is probably the most expensive skill I will ever find, and it’s better to get the skill early on.
{Chaos – Locked – Allows the user to spend Chaos Energy in order to create a random skill and add it to their Chaos Skill Tree.} – [Spend 100000 Skill Points to unlock this skill.]
I tap my chin in thought before finally just going ahead and using the token on the skill.
{User has indicated they wish to use a Skill Purchase Token on the Successor Skill: Chaos. Are you certain of this decision? You may not reverse it.}
I nod my head.
Yep.
{User has used a Skill Purchase Token on the Successor Skill: Chaos. The skill is now unlocked.}
Nice.
I was considering waiting until I got to what would no doubt be a very expensive skill in one of my Unique Skill Trees, like Destruction Immunity, but that probably won’t be for a very long time. And it’s better to just get Chaos now. Since I can use it to make a bunch of skills in the time it would take to find Destruction Immunity in my Queen of Destruction Skill Tree.
With that thought in mind, I go ahead and activate the skill. Deciding to test it out a bit.
So without any hesitation, I activate the skill. Only to find myself rapidly drained of over ninety-percent of my chaos energy in seconds. Proving that I barely have enough to actually activate the skill.
Several people in the Council Chamber look over at me thanks to the chaos energy floating around me. But after realizing that I’m not attacking anyone, they continue with their little debates.
I ignore them all as I frown at the new skill appearing in a new Skill Tree labeled Chaos Skill Tree. Which doesn’t take very long thanks to the System Guide very kindly organizing my Skill Trees based on priority of how important they are to me and how useful they’d be. Using my own priorities to determine that.
{Fresh Cleaner – All dirt, dust, and grime that gets within a 0.5 meter radius of the user is instantly cleaned.}
Hmm.
Yeah, that skill is kinda garbage. For me, at least.
I’m sure there are people who would like a skill like this. But I’m not one of them. Seeing as everything in my home and most of the places I go are clean. Unless I’m in some Domain, I guess.
Then again, Chaos did say that there would probably be more bad skills given using Chaos than good ones. It’s just that the good ones can be really good.
So it really is just like rolling gacha at a casino or a videogame or something.
The main issue is the energy cost. Which is larger than I expected.
It should be alright, though, since I have plenty of energy regeneration focused skills. So it won’t take too long to recover it.
Plus it only takes my chaos energy. Not my mana or ice energy.
Besides.
It’s not like I use my chaos energy for much, anyway.
Ironically enough, my chaos energy reserves are the reserves I touch the least. Simply because I don’t make very many items or anything using the infuse skill, nor do I use that berserk skill very often either.
And a lot of my Successor Skills that take chaos energy are more bent towards difficult battles. Which I don’t find often.
Like Chaotic Source that redirects true damage.
As for chaos energy using skills from other Skill Trees? I don’t have many of them.
So I mostly just use chaos energy with chaos magic and Assimilate.
And even then, I don’t tend to use chaos magic much to keep energy conserved for Assimilate usage.
I yawn again while sitting around waiting for the meeting to finally end. Which it does, with them stating that the Planetary Official System Event will take place in one week.
So I immediately leave the chamber and go to bed to rest a little bit. Just to recover my chaos energy.
Then I begin to make my way towards the top of my Spire.
Because it’s finally time to reach Class C.

Quick question do we know exactly how fast Ashley can regenerate enough energy to use the skill
