Wolf
A notification suddenly appears in my vision after entering the floor.
Beta Administrator Dungeon Notification
Congratulations on arriving at the four hundred and ninety-first floor!
This marks the beginning of the Centurion Floor Theme at the halfway point of the Beta Dungeon.
This is a message from the Centurion Boss of the Centurion Floor.
“Make sure your death is quick so that I don’t have to waste more time on this. There’s nothing more that needs to be said to a filthy mutt.”
Unlike the previous Centurion Floor Theme, every floor of the fifth Centurion Floor Theme has requirements that must be met to clear the floor.
For the four hundred and ninety-first floor of the theme, you must clear the following three requirements:
The first requirement is to defeat all five bosses of the floor.
The second requirement is to find the exit to the floor hidden somewhere within the ocean of lava.
The third and final requirement is to find the key hidden away somewhere within the floor.
The key will only be made usable once the five bosses are defeated. After which point it may unlock the exit.
However, throughout the duration of this floor, you will be constantly burnt by the fire energy filling the floor.
Should you fail any of these, you shall be burned for the rest of time.
Assuming you survive the process.
As if on cue, I feel the fire energy in the air suddenly vibrating before directly targeting me. Trying to burn me in the process.
And it’s not just the fire energy but the monsters down below as they all begin shooting fireballs and other types of ranged fire attacks at me at the same time.
Hmm…
Well this floor seems like it’ll be a major nuisance to deal with.
I pause for a moment before spreading my Domain all around me to freeze absolutely everything. And fortunately, thanks to my weakness to fire being gone, I successfully freeze everything. Making steam rise up into the air as the lava quickly hardens to stone and obsidian before freezing solid into a wasteland of ice surrounded by lava.
Of course, the monsters and even the ambient fire energy works hard to melt all that ice. But it’s not stronger than my Domain.
So I still freeze it all without much trouble.
The only issue is that I feel like I need to expand my Domain more if I’m going to be able to survive against Phoenix. And I can’t expand my Domain if I’m using it to freeze everything.
I frown before taking a deep breath and pulling back my Domain after already freezing everything around me. But when I’m about to replace my Domain with regular elemental energy – which is something I haven’t really bothered using for a while now – I realize the ocean around me is still frozen. Even if it’s very gradually starting to melt.
Hmm…
The corners of my lips quirk upwards as an idea comes to mind.
So after transforming into my hunter form, I rush down and slam my fist into the ice. Sending a tremor through it while holding the ice together with my energy without shattering it.
Thereby making the monsters frozen solid shatter without the ice itself around them shattering.
Then after doing that, I slam my fist down into the ice further away while focusing on expanding my Domain. And I do it again. And again. And again.
Eventually all the monsters in the part of the ice I froze die. So I spread my Domain out again to freeze another large portion of the ocean. Following which I begin punching the ice again while expanding my Domain some more.
And just like that, I continue the pattern over and over again.
Spread Domain, freeze everything, punch everything while expanding my Domain. Spread Domain, freeze everything again, punch everything while expanding my Domain again.
Over and over again.
And ever so gradually, bit by bit, I clear out the floor while continuing to expand my Domain. With the fire elemental energy not really bothering me thanks to my Domain freezing everything around me in the periods of time I spread it out.
But things change gradually over time when I begin to run into stronger and stronger monsters.
I grit my teeth as I identify some of the monsters here.
-| Flame Dragon – Level 25000 |-
Holy shit. These stronger ones are event bosses.
Every last one is an event boss.
Phoenix is able to do this?!
That’s just unfair…
Also, it’s level is several hundred above my own.
Although level doesn’t really matter much at this point. So that isn’t much of an issue.
But the fact that there are hundreds of these things all jumping out of the lava is an issue.
These are the first monsters I’ve ever seen where my Domain doesn’t instantly freeze them.
Sure my Domain kills them in the end, but it doesn’t instantly freeze them anymore. And what’s worse is that the monsters are still growing in strength as I continue going through the floor.
It’s to the point that by the time I finally find a boss in the floor – one of the ones the notification must have been speaking of – the boss’ own level is already at level twenty-six thousand.
The thing’s level is so high and it has so much fire energy that it’s even able to fend off my stretched Domain.
But only my stretched Domain. When I condense it a bit more, shrinking it down in the process, I manage to freeze the thing solid like the other monsters. Following which I smash the thing to pieces with my fists.
And after killing it, a message appears in my vision telling me that I’ve killed one of the five bosses for the floor.
Then I go ahead and move on, killing more monsters and expanding my Domain some more.
At least these stronger monsters are feeding my physical strength even more…

Wow. Just wow.
