Wolf
My month long break goes by rather quickly. Probably because I spend most of it expanding my Domain. And by the time I realize it’s over, I’m already being kicked out of the rest floor into the four hundred and first floor of the Beta Dungeon.
Which takes the form of a wasteland of quicksand.
As in, an entire sea of nothing but sand that makes anything that touches it begin sinking downwards.
And to add to that, I see various ships just sailing across the quicksand. Pretty much making it a literal ocean of sand instead of water.
I put my hands in my pockets while flying high into the air. Then I sit back and watch the ships sail by. With some of them stopping to fire bolts and harpoons at me through crossbows and ballista.
But said bolts and harpoons don’t even reach the elevation I’m flying at. Mostly because the air around me is so naturally cold that they end up freezing solid and falling back to shatter against the sand below.
Hmm.
It’s nice to not see any illusions anymore.
Actually, I kind of doubt that I’ll be facing illusions ever again. Considering the items I got against illusions.
And the fact that the only thing that can break through those defenses are Progenitors. And the only Progenitor with illusions is Loki.
Sure there are others that can cause hallucinations and the like, but not real reality altering illusions like Loki.
I think Jormungandr for example can cause hallucinations with some of his various types of poison.
So I’ll never have to deal with those annoying illusions again.
Well, unless I run into Loki after leaving the dungeon.
I’m kind of hoping that won’t happen though. Even if I know it probably will.
Anyway, I go ahead and spread my Domain outwards to cover the area around me. Only to see a massive monster surface from the sand a distance away. At which point it gobbles up a large sand ship.
Huh.
The creature looks kind of like a hybrid of a seal and a whale just swimming through the sand. Albeit with tusks and spikes all across its back.
Not that it matters.
When my Domain reaches the massive monster, the thing freezes over just like everything else. Whether it’s the sand, other monsters, or even the ships.
Everything freezes solid. Then the living creatures begin to disintegrate as my Domain devours them whole. Adding them to my own physical strength in the process.
I yawn while beginning to move through the floor. Letting my Domain devour everything.
Because using my physical strength in a place like this that’s too large and full of monsters under the sand sounds like a pain. So I can go back to expanding my Domain again in the next floor theme.
I just hope the next floor theme is good for expanding it.
With that thought in mind, I clear the floor and move on to the next floor. And then the next. And the next.
And at some point while clearing floors, I get news from outside the dungeon about the War of the Progenitors taking a rather twisted turn. With both Titania and Grim switching up their main targets for the war.
Grim is now directly attacking the fae living in Titania’s Domain, while Titania is directly targeting Grim’s void creatures.
Which is normally against the Progenitors’ usual unspoken laws. To not involve mortals in their affairs.
But since both of them have long since been involving mortals, and they’re both doing it to each other. Not to mention that the war has grown so much that both sides have dozens of Progenitors fighting for them, Fenrir has largely given up on interfering.
So long as they don’t go too far, that is.
None of this affects me though. Especially since Fenrir is protecting my family. Meaning they shouldn’t be in danger.
I also don’t have good memories with either the fae or the void creatures. What with the fae practically kidnapping Katie and the rest of my family, while the void creatures have no conscience and just follow Grim’s every command.
Time continues to pass as I clear one floor after another. All the way until I arrive at the boss floor of this theme. Where I kill the boss – one taking the form of a massive mouth that appears in the sand – with just a simple use of my Domain to freeze and devour it.
And after killing the boss and revealing the exit, I move on to the next floor theme. Which takes the form of endless castles, each connected to each other.
So I take my time on this floor theme to kill the monsters with my physical strength alone. All while expanding my Domain bit by bit.
And just like that, I continue moving through one floor after another as time passes. Expanding my Domain some more and increasing my physical strength. Both through leveling up and through devouring monsters with my Domain.
One floor after another.
One floor theme after another.
All the way until I finally reach the four hundred and fiftieth floor. Where I find my next round of sponsorships waiting for me.
Not that I’ll need any of said sponsorships to deal with the boss of this floor.
That said, they will be useful when dealing with the Centurion Boss Progenitor clone of the five hundredth floor.
So without any pause, I find myself appearing in the hall once more with a notification appearing in my vision for the next sponsorships.
Only to blink at the sight of the Sponsors.

Congratulations!
You will now be transported to the System’s Grand Hall to be awarded your items and skills!
Huh?
I… don’t recognize any of those. At all.
And Fenrir didn’t get to it this time? Was he too slow?
Or did some other Progenitors just rush and beat him to it?
Then again, he could just be busy. Or he decided he’s sponsored me enough.
Anyways, time to see what I got.
Comments
My guess is enemy progenitors sending him nasty stuff. Nyx for the three letters. Phoenix for one of the seven letters. Then maybe Fortuna for the last seven letters (not that she's an enemy)
