Why exactly is he messaging me?

System Message
Notice. The Centurion Boss of the Centurion Floor has sent a message to the Beta Tester.
The message is as follows:
“Hello good sir! I have deigned to lower myself to speak to you through a message in this wonderful little System! So how about you spend the time to reply?
Assuming that’s possible. Which I don’t know.
Then again, you can just answer out loud, alright?
Of course, my time is precious. So I’ll get right to the point!
Or, rather, I will after I tell you the great history of the beautiful balloons!
And of the great and wonderful Balloon do Lalo!
No one could ever fully understand the greatness of the Balloon do Lalo! Ever!
But I will still try to bring you to the great understanding about the balloons!
Balloons are beautiful creatures! So smooth! So rubbery!
They’re amazing beings that bring joy to all! Even as they try to eat you!
Did you know that balloons take their time to digest whatever they eat? Just gradually digesting them while making them feel comfortable in their stomach using some special chemicals that relax those who are touched by the chemicals!
All while slowly dissolving them.
It’s a paradise, right?
Oh, and there’s also the fluffy balls! They’re also great things! Ones you would never see if it weren’t for my great majesty!
They’re so fluffy, don’t you think?
Fluffiness is the greatest thing in the universe!
Oh, right. I forgot about the point of this message.
I have no interest in killing you, so please do be careful when you fight me! I’m the great Loki after all!
I’m magnanimous like that.
Besides. You’ve given me enough entertainment already.
So I’ve taken a liking to you!
Did you know balloons have a long life span?
Probably not. They’re that great after all.
And you deserve just as long a lifespan!
So, to that point! When you enter my Temple, please devour everything you see before you pick up the scepter! I’ll be weaker the less illusion elemental energy is around!

Also, thank you for helping me humiliate that Grim bastard!
And thank you for all your future help humiliating and destroying him and his image!

I stare blankly at the message, feeling more than a little uncertain about what I just read.

Is there something wrong with Loki’s head…?

Also, what’s with his obsession with balloons? And why is he referring to balloons as if they’re living beings?

I shiver at the description he gave of balloons’ stomachs as my thoughts go back to the balloon do lalo that I fought before.

Well, putting aside all the… weirdness… it looks like he’s helping me?

On another note though…

I tilt my head at that last comment of his.

Loki has a grudge against Grim? That’s unexpected.

Then again, considering the illusions he made before targeting Grim… maybe it’s not that big of a surprise?

I wonder why he has a grudge though?

Not that it’s a problem. What with it actually benefiting me and all.

I wouldn’t be surprised if that was part of why he decided to enter the dungeon and help me out here. Even if I still have to fight to the death with his clone.

Judging by his comments in the message though, he may not actually try that hard against me.

So that’s nice.

I stare at the message for a few more seconds while briefly wondering what’s wrong with Loki. Considering how convoluted his message is. But then I just shrug it off and proceed to summon my system store. At which point I go inside and lie down on a couch.

Time to rest and let my energy recover.

As for Loki’s comment about taking a liking to me? I’m not entirely sure I believe that.

Not considering how much he’s been messing with me ever since I entered his Centurion Floor theme.

Unless he just enjoys messing with those he likes?

Then again, he probably enjoys messing with anyone and everyone. Regardless of whether he likes them or not.

Considering how he’s been messing with Grim as well this entire time. And what I’ve heard from Fenrir, he just pranks anyone. Even other Progenitors.

I lie back while staring up at the ceiling.

Something tells me Loki is going to be messing with me even more when I enter that Temple. And I’m not looking forward to seeing that.

At all.

I let out a sigh at that thought.

A few seconds later though, another System Message appears in my vision, startling me.

System Message
Notice. The Centurion Boss of the Centurion Floor has sent a message to the Beta Tester.

“Hello again! I forgot to mention something in my last message!
There’s one thing you must absolutely without a doubt remember!
Do you know what it is?
I bet you don’t!
It’s!!!!
Just remember, okay?
It is very important!
Right, so the thing you must remember…!!!!
Oh, right. Something else I forgot is that I will be your ally forever if you kill Grim, kay?
But back to the point of this message!
The thing you must absolutely without a doubt always and never forget remember!
Balloons are important.
Do not forget this.
It is very, very important!
Like, life and death important.
Okay?
Okay.”
