Seriously? Who the hell disguises a gnat as a massive giant?
I blink at that thought before frowning.
Right. Loki.
Ugh.
This is getting more and more annoying by the moment.
With that thought, I open the mini boss’s chest to find another of the same type of item. One that restores energy. But this one is in the form of a tiny gnat that I’m supposed to eat to use the item.
I want to punch Loki in the face.
After staring at it for a second, I put it into my storage ring before turning around and heading into the exit to the next floor. Only to find myself on a massive platform floating in the middle of the sky. With numerous other platforms scattered all around me.
Oh, and a bunch of bugs flying through the air which I can clearly tell aren’t actually bugs.
When I clear the illusions, they’re monsters of all different species with strange bug wings stuck to their backs despite most of them not being bugs.
I let out a sigh before beginning to clear out these monsters as well. Just like the others.
Meanwhile the chat goes wild laughing at my irritation.
[This is hilarious.]
[Loki is really enjoying trolling Wolf, isn’t he?]
[Just how long is this going to go on?]
[Probably the entire floor theme. I’m just curious how Loki will design the Centurion Boss floor.]
Yeah, laugh it up.
And they’re not wrong either as the trolling continues all the way through to the Special Floor at the fifth floor of the theme. The 395th floor of the Beta Dungeon. Where I find the floor filled derpy looking versions of the other Progenitors.
Which makes me wonder if Loki is asking for a beating right now from them.
Because…
I look the closest few derpy Progenitors up and down. One of which being a massive icy wolf with a derpy looking face is clearly made to look both cute and stupid. Then there’s a massive fiery bird that I’m assuming is a copy of Phoenix. Except with strange human hands at the ends of the bird’s wings, along with a derpy looking face on the bird’s head.
After that there’s a derpy version of the Reaper, a derpy Jormungandr, and pretty much a derpy version of every Progenitor. And this time they aren’t even covered in illusions. They’re actually what the monsters look like.
[The other Progenitors won’t like this…]
[Holy shit…]
[Loki knows no fear…]
[At risk of being killed, this is hilarious…]
Then, as if on cue, as I’m beginning to freeze and devour these monsters, I find certain messages beginning to appear in the chat.
[Massive shards of ice just appeared in the Viewing room and are chasing Loki.]
[Spears of orange flame are doing the same thing, but the Progenitor of Illusions is just avoiding them all while sticking his tongue out.]
[This is hilarious.]
[I want to record this but I’m afraid to end up dead within a day.]
[Waves of poison are joining in…]
One after another, the different Progenitors start sending attacks at Loki. But Loki avoids every last one from what I hear.
Honestly, it’s to the point that after I deal with the monsters near me I go ahead and enter the Arcadian Live viewing room just to watch the show. And it is indeed very hilarious.
I nod my head with some satisfaction as I watch Loki being chased by dozens of different attacks of various different elements from different Progenitors. All without the Progenitors themselves actually showing themselves.
It’s just too bad that Loki seems to be enjoying this despite being attacked as he easily dodges the attacks while throwing illusions all over the place.
But it’s fine. While I was hoping to see him get some punishment for everything he’s been putting me through, being able to see him torturing other people at least puts me at ease a bit. Especially since said other people are all Progenitors. Some of whom have caused or are trying to cause me trouble themselves.
So it’s fine.
I just sit back and watch him mess with the Progenitors, wishing I had popcorn all the while.
Loki really does seem to be enjoying himself. Even as he repeatedly changes what he looks like and appears in random locations in the middle of the viewing room.
He’s even showboating to the audience by doing things like waving at them, blowing kisses, and sticking his tongue out at the attacks following him. All clearly without a care in the world.
Eventually the other Progenitors seem to lose interest as they finally stop attacking him. Which is my cue to go back into the Beta Dungeon again since the show is over.
And when I do, I begin killing the large derpy Progenitors in the floor. None of which are anywhere near as powerful as the real things.
Which is pretty obvious when considering the fact that none of them have their Domains.
They’re just monsters that look like the Progenitors. Except with derpy forms.
So without any hesitation, I go ahead and slaughter the derpy Progenitors one after another. Devouring them with my Domain as I do so to grow my own physical strength.
This feels kind of wrong in a way. Slaughtering things that look like Progenitors like this.
I hope it doesn’t make some of the Progenitors that liked me change their mind.
Although I kind of doubt it will. At most they’ll be upset with Loki for making these derpy versions, not me.
At least, from what I’ve gathered about them from Fenrir, that is.
None of them are spiteful enough to blame the wrong party for something. Even the ones that already dislike me.
So I probably won’t have to worry about that.
I let out a yawn as I continue slaughtering them one after another. Not slowing down even the slightest bit as I do so.
And despite that, their numbers don’t really seem to shrink. At all.
This might take a while…
