I find myself actually kind of enjoying the variety show as I watch the thing. Mostly because I’m seeing some of the people I’ve grown to think of a little bit as friends getting tormented by each other.

There was even a minigame centered on eating incredibly spicy food. And I mean incredibly spicy. Apparently so spicy it’s the supernatural, magical level of spicy.

Seeing Crystal crying tears of blood – not literally – after losing was hilarious. Especially after her mocking me in my chat earlier.

Karma is sweet.

The variety show continues over the course of several hours before finally ending on one rather grand note. With the System actually asking me to say a few words to the Competitors. Which I do with a simple, “Good luck.”

Making quite a few of them chuckle in the process. And since the System doesn’t say anything, I’m guessing it probably expected that sort of response from me.

Then the variety show finally comes to an end and all the Competitors make it back to the Administrator Dungeon with their rewards. Meanwhile I just head back to that quiz show floor theme. Where I end up finding a message appearing in the corner of my interface from Fenrir.

Hmm…

The message pretty much says I should stop here to expand my Domain for a while. Just to catch up to the Progenitor clones as much as I can while in a safe floor.

And he is right. There really isn’t any other floor that’s safer to train in.

No monsters will spawn here unless it’s an event boss. What with it being a special floor theme centered around a quiz show rather than fighting monsters.

So after a brief pause, I summon my portable system store and lie down on the couch before freezing myself and the entire house solid in my lunar ice. Then I close my eyes and focus entirely on expanding my Domain.

Minutes begin to pass. Then hours. And finally entire days and weeks.

Unfortunately, once half a year passes inside of the frozen room with me doing nothing but losing myself in expanding my Domain, the System seems to get irritated and sends me a message. Knocking me out of my training haze.

System Notification

Greetings, Beta Tester Wolf.

It has been noted that you have been inactive for half a year.

Should you remain inactive for one more hour without leaving the floor, an additional Centurion Boss will spawn within the Dungeon.

Please prepare to leave the floor and continue through the dungeon.

I read the message with a frown before sighing. Then I unfreeze everything around me and begin stretching, making quite a few popping sounds as I move for the first time in half a year.

Well, half a year is good for training. I was able to expand my Domain by quite a bit in this time after all.

And while it’s nowhere near the size of a Progenitor’s Domain, even when they were back at my level of power, it’s still quite a bit better than before.

My Domain now is several times larger than it was before after all.

That’ll help me quite a bit when I go up against the next Progenitor clone.

Well, with that thought in mind, I briefly check with Sapphire to see how she’s doing, then I head to the three hundred and seventy first floor of the Beta Dungeon. While briefly glancing at the System Forums to see if anything’s happened.

And, of course, I find quite a bit about Sapphire’s antics outside of the dungeon. Which makes me a chuckle a bit even as I find myself appearing on the next floor.

A floor that turns out to be a massive ocean with quite a few ships covering it. More medieval ships at that.

I jump up off the ship I find myself on before flapping my wings to fly high into the sky. Giving me a view of dozens of ships scattered across an endless ocean. All with different humanoid creatures on them.

Hmm.

This is an unusual floor theme.

I cross my arms and tap my finger against my bicep as I float above them all in my lycan form. The one that looks most like a human. Then I shrug and wave my hand, deciding to test out my newly expanded Domain on this floor theme.

And the moment I wave my hand, I spread my Domain outwards, stretching it for thousands of meters as a massive blue moon appears overhead. Dwarfing the entire planet and covering it with a pale blue moonlight as everything in sight begins to freeze.

Even a lot of the moisture in the air begins to freeze, turning into hail as it falls down. All with the light of the blue moon reflecting off of the ice.

Only for the hail to land on the newly frozen ocean down below.

I continue tapping my finger while watching all of this. Even as the monsters freeze solid on their ships before slowly beginning to disappear as my ice devours them. Adding them to my own strength.

Meanwhile my level begins to rise at a fast pace.

Alright, this’ll do.

Multiple exits appear across the floor as I kill several mini bosses while barely even lifting a finger.

I glance at the livestream chat to see them all freaking out. Both over my display of power and over the fact that I’m finally on the move again after half a year of just sitting there expanding my Domain.

But after a second, I just glance away from the chat and put my hands in my pockets.

It’s good to see all that time wasn’t wasted. Not in the least.

A faint smile spreads across my face. Then I begin to fly through the floor of the dungeon, spreading my Domain to devour everything one after another.

And turning the ocean floor into a frozen wasteland covered in blue moonlight.

Let’s increase my physical strength a bit more now.
