Within the Progenitor’s Special Dimension

Fenrir feels slightly bewildered as he watches the current livestream from the System showing this ‘variety show’ of theirs. And he’s not the only confused Progenitor watching as several others currently in the dimension show just as much confusion.

“A construct is really doing this?” Fenrir hears Loki mutter next to him.

“A construct with a Reality Treasure as its core, and a mind originally raised and created by Grim,” Jormungandr answers as the serpent in humanoid form appears near them through a large portal that closes after he passes through.

“Well, yeah, I know that,” Loki says while leaning back and leaning his head against his hands with his fingers intertwined. Albeit in the body of a female version of the most common appearance he shows. “But still! It’s a construct! And it’s working towards making entertainment for people to watch? Even without anyone guiding it anymore?”

No one says anything in response to that. They just silently watch as the System forces the Competitors into different minigames one after another for people’s entertainment.

After the first minigame, the variety show shifts between several different types of minigames. Including but not limited to sports like dodgeball but with magic allowed, fights to the death in battle royales and duels, and even some quiz show minigames.

And every minigame has a reward for the winner. Making all of the participants motivated to keep going.

But while this is going on, many of the progenitors in the room leave since The Winter Wolf isn’t running the dungeon right now. Making watching pointless for them since the variety show has nothing to do with The Winter Wolf. And they have no interest in watching The Winter Wolf watching mortals play games.

Some even ask the remaining progenitors to tell them whenever Wolf returns to the Beta Dungeon. And others just have subordinates keep an eye on the livestream.

Even Fenrir only keeps a mere secondary consciousness watching the livestream in the special dimension. Largely just to keep an eye on Wolf and the other progenitors in the dimension.

Meanwhile his main body works outside of the dimension expanding his own Domain and keeping an eye on Phoenix.

Because he’s more worried at this point about the Progenitor of Fire trying something against their determined rules than he is about Wolf dying in the dungeon before reaching a Centurion Boss.

And he’s not the only one as nearly every progenitor at this point is convinced The Winter Wolf would never die to a regular monster or boss anymore. All those serve to do now is act as fodder for his level while he expands his Domain.

Fenrir actually thinks it might be better for him to wait before getting to the next Centurion Floor. Just so that he can spend as long as possible expanding his Domain to prepare.

There’s no telling whether the next progenitor in the Beta Dungeon will directly try to kill him or if they’ll try for a fair fight.

So expanding his Domain as much as possible before facing that threat would be the best idea.

At this point Fenrir expects The Winter Wolf to pause at some point and focus just on expanding his Domain. Since there’s no reason for him to continue marching through the dungeon endlessly without stopping anymore.

There isn’t anything that can even hurt him in the lower levels anymore. Especially not once he deals with the bosses.

Actually… the floor he’s on right now could work.

Fenrir goes ahead and sends a message to his pup about that. Suggesting Wolf stay on the quiz show floor to expand his Domain for a few months at least.

Since it’s a floor without any other monsters or threats that could bother him during this time. All he would have to do is seal himself away in ice before working solely on expanding his Domain.

Fenrir shifts his attention to his secondary consciousness to see the variety show still going on. With The Winter Wolf’s attention solely on the variety show and expanding his own Domain.

Good. He isn’t forgetting to expand his Domain while watching.

A small part of him worried that he was just wasting this time, but now that worry is gone.

With that worry cleared, Fenrir soon shifts his focus towards the next two matters at hand. The first being finding a suitable sponsorship for Wolf when he reaches the Centurion Boss floor, and the other dealing with the matter of Wolf’s family.

And the progenitors who may go after them later on.

He can’t see any of them going after his family right now, not when a lot of progenitors are likely assuming Wolf will die to one of the progenitor clones in the Beta Dungeon. So they don’t think blackmail and threats are even necessary to deal with him.

But when Wolf starts to beat their clones, some of the progenitors may begin crossing lines they shouldn’t cross. Regardless of their pride.

So Fenrir begins to make several bodyguards before sending them over to Grim’s universe and hiding them around all of Wolf’s family. Protecting anyone Wolf may care about from the shadows without letting even the ones he’s protecting know about it.

Then, after splitting off a small secondary consciousness to watch them, he focuses his main consciousness on deciding on a new sponsorship for Wolf that will help with the next progenitor. Starting with his attempt to guess which progenitor of the ones he knows will enter the Beta Dungeon with a clone will be his next opponent.

Because what the sponsorship should be will vary strongly depending on the opponent.

And just trying to figure it out gives him a headache.

Eventually though he settles on deciding to just gather sponsorships that can be used against all the progenitors he suspects will enter the dungeon through their clones. Then he can select between those to give him.

With that thought in mind, Fenrir quickly gets to work.

Comments

Thank you for the chapter. One thing that occured to me while reading this chapter is all the other progenitors are millions of years old so it would seem to be impossible for Wolf to ever catch up to them (the real ones) as they've had millions of years to expand their domain. Or could he use the Reality Chronicle to create insane amounts of his variant element then gobble it up to do a kind of super expanding his domain?
