Of course, I win every single round of the quiz shows. For every floor. With the last floor of the floor theme actually being some sort of game show including the boss amongst the competitors in the show.

I freeze him too.

Actually, I kill the boss before the game show even starts. Which doesn’t even surprise the other frozen Competitors amongst the contestants at this point.

I feel like most of them are just feeling resigned when they find themselves here for the game show. Because it means they’re stuck doing a variety System show appearance since there’s no way they can beat me while frozen solid.

One of the Competitors actually tried to thaw himself out of my ice.

That didn’t work.

It was amusing to watch though.

And after clearing the final floor of the floor theme, I make sure to wait a bit before the System notification I’m looking for appears.

System Notification

Greetings one and all!

The very first Variety Show Hosted by the System will now commence in one hour!

All the Competitors who lost during the five rounds of the Beta Dungeon’s 366-370th floors will be participants in the Variety Show.

During this show, the System will broadcast different sides of each of these Competitors.

Sides never shown in the Administrator Dungeon before.

The Variety Show will begin with a short introduction and a livestreamed meeting of the various Competitors. It will then be followed up by several minigames played by the Competitors.

Some of these minigames will be to the death, but don’t worry, for the System will revive any Competitor killed during the minigames.

Whereas other minigames will be non-combat ones.

All users of the System regardless of location may tune in to watch.

Other Competitors may watch live in the Variety Show dimension.

I nod my head with a satisfied look on my face after reading the notification.

Nice.

This will be a good change of pace from my usual routine of slaughtering monsters while expanding my Domain.

I glance at the exit to the floor before just walking over to a corner of this room and summoning my portable system store. Which is pretty much just my home since the store part is useless.

Then I lie around on the couch just reading a book as I wait for this Variety Show thing to start.

And when it eventually does after the hour-long wait, I find a System prompt appearing in the center of my vision asking me if I want to attend in person to watch. And I immediately select yes, making me reappear in what looks like some sort of commentator’s booth next to Mikaela and a few other Competitors.

All of whom immediately go wide-eyed the moment they see me amongst them.

But I ignore all of them as I look at the Competitors who are participating in the Variety Show down below. Which actually number quite a few.

Then again, considering the fact that it was five floors, and the losers of each floor are being forced to participate…

Yeah, it would be weird if more of the Competitors were up here in the booth with me. Since there’s only a few up here.

As for Mikaela’s presence? That much is obvious at this point.

The System really seems to be pushing for him to become its main host or MC or whatever. Just like what The Reaper was doing before with the Void Stream.

I wonder how he feels about that?

After glancing at him for a moment to see the man looking rather excited about this, I come to the conclusion that he’s happy about it. Then I turn my attention back to the people in the Variety Show.

Amongst the Competitors, there are about eighteen of them in the Variety Show.

With a lot of the Competitors having had to participate in the quiz show more than once.

Uncaring of all that, I find myself smugly smirking at Crystal, who is down amongst the participants of the Variety Show.

This makes for great revenge after her comments on the livestream chat.

Even if I’m not the one getting revenge on her.

That doesn’t matter though as long as she feels karma for what she’s done.

I cross my arms while looking around the area down there. Which is pretty much just some sort of lobby. Like what you’d see at a hotel or something.

And all the Competitors are scattered around it with their names floating above their heads along with their titles registered by the System. Like my The Winter Wolf title.

Mikaela suddenly blinks and starts staring ahead of himself, likely reading some special notification meant just for him as the host. Then he leans up to one of the microphones in the booth and says, “Welcome one and all to the first Variety Show of the System! I am your host, Mikaela, and I’m here to commentate on this Variety Show in the place of the System!”

Yeah, guess the System is giving him directions or something.

I kind of wonder if he actually gets anything out of this though.

Maybe he gets paid for people who watch? Or it could just be the promotion he gets from hosting the thing.

Since there are probably a lot of people who will go from this Variety Show to his own viewing room. So that could be it.

At the end of the day though, it doesn’t really matter to me.

So I go ahead and turn my attention back to the Competitors while ignoring the other Competitors in the booth with me.

“Along with me are several Competitors from the Administrator Dungeon who didn’t end up joining the Variety Show, along with The Winter Wolf himself!” Mikaela exclaims, sounding more than a little excited. “And to kick off this Variety Show, the Competitors down in the lobby will be meeting and greeting each other for ten minutes. Then the first minigame will begin!”

This will be interesting.
