Wolf

At first I try to fight as I’ve been doing lately for the most part. Using just my physical strength while I expand my Domain.

But that ends up failing miserably when I jump forwards and try to tear my claws through the event boss’s body. Only for the event boss to laugh and somehow unnaturally distort its own body in just the right way that it avoids my claws with perfect precision. With its body returning to its original form immediately after my claws pass through.

In fact, before they even finish passing through. It just distorts back the moment my claws pass over the area that is distorted.

And the event boss continues to laugh even as I give it a very bizarre look while flying in front of it.

Then the event boss just distorts entirely, turning into a ball that eventually shrinks into nothing. Only for the monster to reappear several dozen meters away, floating out of some sort of crystalized-mirror-like break in reality. With said break fixing itself and vanishing the moment it finishes passing through.

And once again I hear it laughing as the music continues playing.

This is getting on my nerves.

I try a few more times, just rushing up to the annoying clown over and over again. But no matter how many times I try, the clown doesn’t let a single one of my attacks hit it.

It either distorts its own body to avoid any damage or it teleports away in the blink of an eye.

There are even times it grabs the little balls of compressed flesh from the other monsters and uses them as shields while laughing its head off.

My irritation grows more and more with everything this annoying clown does.

All the way until my last string of patience finally snaps and I move towards the central tent of this little circus. At which point the clown teleports a couple dozen meters in front of me while still laughing.

But I don’t pay any mind to its laughing.

Not this time.

Not as I stop expanding my Domain for the moment and instead spread it outwards, stretching it until it covers hundreds of meters around me all at once. Instantly turning this place into a frozen wasteland while freezing the event boss solid without even giving it the chance to react.

Then I slowly fly forwards until I stop right in front of the frozen boss.

“Had a good time messing with me, did you?” I mutter to the monster before snapping my fingers, making the ice of my Domain begin devouring the monster from the outside slowly inwards. “Let’s see who’s laughing now.”

I watch the clown slowly getting devoured by my Domain. The boss being turned into my own strength in the process.

Until there’s nothing left of the pitiful creature amidst this frozen wasteland that used to be a circus.

Even the music finally goes silent upon its death. Leaving the place without any real sound.

Finally.

My thoughts are interrupted when a notification suddenly appears in my vision.

System Message

WARNING.

THIS IS A NOTICE FROM THE SYSTEM.

A NEW RULE HAS BEEN IMPLEMENTED WITHIN THE ADMINISTRATOR AND BETA DUNGEONS.

FROM NOW ON, A LIVE COMMENTS SECTION IS BEING IMPLEMENTED INTO THE LIVESTREAMS.

ALL USERS HAVE THE RIGHT TO VIEW THE COMMENT SECTION. HOWEVER, THE COMPETITORS MAY NOT SEND MESSAGES IN THEIR OWN COMMENT SECTIONS.

WARNING.

I narrow my eyes at the message before noticing a new icon appearing on the corner of my interface. One with some sort of chat symbol on it.

Seriously? I didn’t expect the System to try to make new changes to the dungeons.

Then again, it’s already dumped Progenitor clones into the Beta Dungeon, so I shouldn’t be that surprised it’s making other changes.

Especially now that the Reaper is uninvolved with the System.

Anyway, I go ahead and select the new icon. Instantly making a large chat window appear in a corner of my interface.

My eyes narrow further at what I see on it.

[YEEEESSS!! THIS IS THE BEST NEW CHANGE THAT’S EVER HAPPENED TO THE SYSTEM!]

[Oh, hell yeah!]

[This is new. Wasn’t expecting a livestream chat.]

[Doesn’t this mean we can interact with Wolf in real time now?!]

[I LOVE YOU WOLF!!!]

[Aren’t there too many messages going by at once tho?]

[Hey, some numbers just appeared on the side of the chat. It looks like the livestream chat is separated into different channels to control the sheer number of people entering it.]

[That’s one way to deal with the popularity problem.]

[WOLF’S READING THIS!!!]

I stare blankly at the chat as it continues scrolling past, only to glance at the numbers on the side that go all the way up into the millions. With each one seemingly being a different channel for different viewers to enter and chat.

Why is the System even doing something like this anyways? Is it to bring more interaction between the Competitors and the viewers or something?

I seriously hope it’s not trying to turn us into live-streamers or something. Because that would be incredibly annoying.

We’re already in a dungeon that’s being livestreamed after all. There’s no reason to make it even worse.

Although at least there’s nothing requiring me to look at that chat. And I can probably use it to my advantage as well by asking questions for them to answer.

It’s too bad this didn’t exist when I actually had questions to ask back at the start of the Administrator Dungeon.

The chat continues talking with a lot of people trying to get my attention. But after looking at it for probably around twenty or so seconds, I close out of the chat and focus on the event boss’s loot box that it drops.

Only to get absolutely nothing but garbage from it in the form of some mirror that can show you a person’s hidden talent. Which doesn’t actually show me anything but ice.

So I toss the thing into a storage ring before moving on to the exit of the floor.

This battle was a complete waste of time.

Back to expanding my Domain.
