Don't mind this. It's so that free readers can't see half the chapter.

And here is the final chapter of The Calling of Wrath book 2! Wrath will now once again go on hiatus until book 3. I hope you enjoyed this latest binge of Wrath!

Out of nowhere, Sylvester turns his head to look across the ocean towards the Kingdom of Liathtria from his place seated atop a large leaf of the World Tree. And the moment he senses the Wrath energy flooding outwards from the direction of the capital there, a thrill floods through him, making him want to smile if it weren’t for the fact that his body is nothing more than a skeleton.

“She has returned,” Nidhogg states as the Ancestor of the Sacred Beasts flies down towards where Sylvester is located.

“That she has,” Sylvester says before climbing to his feet.

“Are you finally going to begin her training?” Nidhogg asks as he turns to look at the lich.

“I am,” Sylvester confirms with a nod while miasma forms all around him and makes him float into the air. “Tier 5 is a good time to begin.”

At this rate the restrictions on Sylvester from his punishment have loosened a bit since he last saw her. They’ve gone from the peak of Tier 4 to the peak of Tier 5. So he is still stronger than her even with his restrictions.

But what matters more than personal strength is what he can teach her.

“Very well,” Nidhogg states with a nod of his own head. “I will not get in your way.” Then he flies up into the air while saying one last thing before preparing to leave, “Just know that I will have my time as her instructor when she reaches Tier 7.”

Right as he’s about to leave though, a sudden wave of Sin energy floods out of the Grand Ocean. But only for a brief moment.

Both Nidhogg and Sylvester share a glance before looking deep down into the water as the Sloth and Pride Sin energy bubble up to the surface.

Silence fills the air between them for several moments, meanwhile the Sloth and Pride Sin energy stops coming from the water for a few minutes before once again returning.

“We have less time than I thought,” Sylvester mutters, to which the dragon nods his head in agreement.

Somewhere on the continent of Ardene, a group of three Guardians each from a different plane stand atop a grand pyramid while looking out at the ocean in the direction of Liathtria.

An Angel from the plane of Earth, a Magma Lord from the plane of the Inferno, and a Roc from the plane of Olympus.

“Wrath has returned,” the angel declares as he clenches his fists, no doubt knowing full well what must’ve happened to his comrade angel who ended up in Hell with her.

“Let us capture her and be done with this farse,” the Magma Lord says, his voice booming out over everything in the area and making the other two wince from the volume. “This continent sickens me.”

“While that sentiment is perfectly agreeable,” the Roc states as she narrows her eyes in the direction of Liathtria. “I doubt it will be easy to capture Wrath now.”

The Magma Lord turns a glare on the Roc as he asks, “Do you think I wanted your opinion bird brain?!”

Despite his antagonization though, the Roc completely ignores him to continue staring in the direction of the Embodiment of Wrath.

Right when the Angel opens his mouth to speak and interrupt the Magma Lord, all three of them freeze stiff before looking at the Grand Ocean. Meanwhile small bubbles of Sin and Pride Sin energy occasionally rise to the surface before expelling into the air.

The three Guardians share a glance before turning towards Liathtria again.

“It looks like you may be right to push us to move faster,” the Angel declares with a grim note to his voice.

Deep within the Grand Ocean, on the bottom of the ocean floor, a strange mound of earth can be seen. One that runs throughout the entire planet in a zigzag pattern.

The mount stretches all the way around the planet and spans nearly a hundred kilometers in width. Yet not a single sea monster dares to even approach it despite the sea treasures littering the mound all the way across its length.

But, for the first time ever since the known history of the three kingdoms on Midgard, the mount begins to tremble as if an earthquake was shaking the mount and only the mound. Without affecting much of its surroundings.

A large amount of the natural treasures located on the mound begin to fall off, meanwhile the sea monsters closest to it build even more distance between themselves and the mound.

The rumbling of the mound grows stronger and stronger for several seconds, making the sound echo throughout the entire Grand Ocean. Frightening sea monsters of all Tiers in the process.

Several minutes begin to pass before something strange emerges from the mound as the dirt and sediment begins to wear away a little.

And the mere sight of it causes any monsters even within visible distance of the mound to flee hundreds of kilometers away in any direction.

Because the glowing, golden chains that appear still largely covered by sediment let off an aura so powerful and dominating that it terrifies all monsters who see it.

Yet despite the power felt by these chains, some monsters barely notice the tiny fractures spread throughout the golden pieces of metal. None of which are large enough to pose a threat to the chain’s makeup.

At least not now.

Meanwhile, at the very end of the mound beneath the northern tip of the planet, the mound begins to crumble away a little bit. Revealing what the monsters fleeing from it see as scales.

Then two slit and purple eyes suddenly open within the mound and scales, and the mound opens up more as it crumbles a little bit around the head of the massive serpent. With the serpent itself opening its mouth a little bit to breath out bubbles of Sloth and Pride energy.

Bubbles that float up in the Grand Ocean and are spread all across the world through the currents.

A faint rumbling spreads across the mound as the serpent’s eyes turn towards the continent of Liathtria.

And just as suddenly as they’d opened, the eyes slowly close again.

But the massive serpent’s breathing does not stop as occasional bubbles of Sloth and Pride Sin energy leak from the creature’s mouth and nostrils.

Marking the first true sign of Ragnarök.
