“Congratulations on your ascension, Wrath!” the Demon King exclaims with a wide grin on his face as he appears in the air above me as I kill off some random low Tier and unintelligent demons near his castle. Just checking out my new strength. “Are you planning on leaving soon?”

I nod my head without looking at him. Instead just looking down at the Tier 1 demons located several dozen meters away that are currently running for their lives.

Hmm… let’s try this out.

“Stop moving,” I call out to the Tier 1 unintelligent demons. But nothing happens to them, making me frown.

Okay, what about…

I spread my Wrath energy into my surroundings as the Demon King asks, “Are you trying to control the low Tier demons?”

Before I manage to answer him, the moment my Wrath energy makes contact with the low Tier demons, it’s like something just clicks in my head. And in their bodies, because when my Wrath energy touches them it links up with the Wrath energy inside of their bodies.

Giving me full control of the Wrath energy within them.

And since they are made with Wrath energy being a part of them, that means I have full control over them.

I feel a smile blossoming on my face as I motion with a single beckoning finger for the demons – who had frozen stiff the moment my Wrath energy made contact with them – to come over towards me. Which all of them do in an instant, even if they look rather panicked as they do so.

Now this I can get used to.

Just to test it out, I retract my Wrath energy so that it’s not touching them anymore, only to find that I still have total control over them even without my Wrath energy making direct contact.

Nice. It’s like my Wrath energy converted their own Wrath energy to my control the moment it made contact.

As for the Demon King…

I glance at him just to find him looking rather awed by the process even though my Wrath energy also touched him.

Yeah, it didn’t do anything at all to him. Not that I really expected it to.

He turns his gaze to me with his awe just growing as he mutters, “You really are the Goddess of Wrath…”

Well, the System mentioned me being a goddess or something along those lines as well. But I kind of hope that term doesn’t really spread.

Anyways, I’ve tested out my strength enough now. And after trying out my control on the low Tier demons, I think I’m ready.

His face changes as he no doubt notices the look on my own and understands.

“You’re leaving?” he asks with a slight hint of sadness in his voice. Like he’ll miss me.

I nod my head and answer, “Yep. But I’ll be back at some point probably not in the distant future.”

That at least seems to reassure him a bit.

Although I never would’ve expected before that I’d be reassuring the Demon King that I’d come back like he was some kid or something.

Anyways, I go ahead and step forwards while raising my hand and thinking about the new skill that I got. The Planar Wrath Gate Creation skill. And the moment I activate it, Wrath energy floods out of my body while mixing with the Wrath energy of the surroundings before swirling in a ring in front of me through two separate bolts of energy.

The Demon King and I watch as the two bolts of energy going around in the ring move faster and faster until it’s nearly impossible to tell that it’s two different bolts of energy. Following which Wrath energy begins to slowly spread down to fill the circle made by the ring.

All the way until the entire ring is made out of pure Wrath energy.

Wrath energy that’s still being drained from our surroundings and myself.

I feel fatigue growing within me as more and more of my Wrath energy is drained, but I continue thinking about the skill. I continue keeping it activated. And I continue trying to imagine the castle at Liathtria.

And slowly but surely, the Gate begins to form. With the Wrath energy in the center of the Gate gradually showing the castle of Liathtria in all its glory.

My smile grows wider at the sight of my home.

And with this new skill I won’t have to worry about being sent to other planes again. I may even be able to use it just to teleport to a different location within a plane.

The Gate grows clearer and clearer as I notice the soldiers and knights on the other side all freaking out about the random portal appearing in the sky above their castle. And something tells me that they can’t see through it like we can. Seeing as they’re all freaking out rather than welcoming me back. Implying that they can’t see me.

Several seconds pass before the Gate finally fully manifests. But even then I feel a constant drain on my Wrath energy. One large enough that I’m not sure just how long I can even keep this Gate open.

Which could make that plan of using this skill to teleport across a plane a little bit more difficult.

That has my smile slipping a little for a few seconds, but it returns again soon after as I see a certain duck monster thing in the courtyard of the castle.

Good to see that he’s doing well.

And I totally didn’t abandon him this time.

I turn around to see the Demon King giving me a sad smile.

He really has helped me out a lot. Maybe I should see if there’s anything I can do in return for him when I come back.

“Thanks for everything, Val,” I tell him with a smile before giving him a brief salute of respect and jumping backwards into the Gate.

Going back to Midgard at last.
