They already knew she was most likely going to be Death, so that wasn't a surprise. And he had more important things on his mind then than commenting on something he already knew to be most likely true getting confirmed. That's also assuming he didn't just look it up before contacting Lucilia. Since no one ever said the very first thing he did after waking up was call her.
