As has been stated in the story, most people have never seen a Death Spirit before. And those who do all die. No exceptions. So why would they recognize a death spirit? And how would they recognize death energy when only a necromancer or death magic user can do so?

That was how she was discovered after all by a 2 star Merchant. There are people more high level than that here and in the Hunters Guild no less. She herself confirmed that there were powerful people here.
