The Fractured Tower - Cover, Synopsis, and Prologue

Synopsis:
The great demons of Purgatory.
Beings who gain power through completing contracts for the weaker human race residing in the realm of Midgard. Who are revived each time they die until their tower is destroyed, whether by a group of humans or even another demon.
The humans treat them as ‘mercenaries’ until one of them grows strong enough to warrant a crusade.
But most of them know.
The demons are the true powers of the universe.
And if they weren’t bound to Purgatory, fighting amongst themselves and completing contracts on Midgard to further their own power, then humanity would fall.
But how will things change at the birth of a new demon? One whose bound element is that of Space itself?
Follow Svemir as he navigates his way through both of the realms and completes his contracts, all while avoiding those nasty demons hunting down both him and his constantly moving tower.

The LitRPG System in this story works differently for Humans and Demons.
Whereas humans can get small amounts of EXP for killing monsters and a much larger amount from demons – both of whom are much stronger than they are – demons must complete contracts signed with humans to gain EXP. What’s more is that the demons may also use their EXP to level up their towers, making them grow stronger and gain more powerful and various defenses.

A reverent silence fills the magnanimous chambers of the Prophet as over two dozen kings and queens stand surrounding the raised dais at the center of the room. Their gazes all full of expectation – both good and bad – at the next words to be stated by the man standing with his eyes closed in the center of the dais.
The man has pure white hair, and even though his eyes are closed, the people around him can still see the milky white light leaking from beneath his eyelids.
Time passes by and soon the gathered royals have been standing there staring in silence for ten whole minutes. It isn’t until the old man’s eyes begin glowing even brighter that they all tense up.
“The birth of a newborn, of space and ruin, of chaos,” the Profit begins speaking, only for his eyes to suddenly shoot open, sending a blinding flash of white light throughout the room as he finishes. “The death of a royal and the beginning of the end.”
The instant the man finishes speaking, he collapses onto the dais beneath him. And before the man even touches the ground, the royals around him all begin to speak amongst themselves with shouts quickly filling the hall. Both of confusion and of panic.
But what none of the royals notice is the strange fluctuation of space that spreads throughout the entirety of both Purgatory and Midgard.
Not even the great S Class demons within Purgatory notice this.
Meanwhile, at the origin of the fluctuation, a lone being can be seen standing next to a large tower that wasn’t there even a moment before. The being is wearing a set of black armor, with a rough looking black cloth draped over his shoulders as he slowly opens his blood red eyes to stare up at the equally red moon in the sky. He then slowly lowers his head to look at his hands, which are covered in metal gauntlets, then at the large tower next to him, which has a very similar shade of red glowing at its peak as the being’s eyes. Along with a strange red energy flowing about around it.
The only ones who take any notice of the new tower and the strange being are the two demons situated in their own towers several kilometers away. But by the time they make it over to the being, it along with the tower has already vanished in a flash of red light.
After making it over to the now-empty location and noticing the other demon there, both demons decide to just return back to their own towers, not wanting to deal with fighting another demon for no benefit.

Yes, I know the prologue is incredibly short for this story. So I'm posting chapter 1 right after this.

No worries, I still think it's an interesting concept. "All hail the Mighty Profit whose insider trading brings great wealth, may he expand our portfolio" An entire ruling class based on corrupted stock traders and investment bankers could also explain why they are so willing to make a deal with literal demons to get an advantage.
