Year 819 | Month 2 | Day 13
The first thing I do once I wake up is use my new skill.
Almost immediately, I feel the little Wrath I had in my still-sleep-addled-state drain away from me before a sinister looking foggy energy leaves my body. It looks a lot like the pure Wrath energy, except with a slightly foggy state instead of just pure energy, and it’s spreading out for about a meter. After that, it just stops moving and I instinctively feel a sense for everything within the fog.
My eyebrows raise at the new sensations before I slowly maneuver the aura, first expanding it outward, only to realize that I don’t have enough Wrath to do that, and I instead turn it as thin as a needle in front of me.
Interesting…
I move the thin needle of aura around for a little bit with ease. After a few seconds, I get an idea and launch it into a nearby rock.
The instant it touches the rock, random bits of information – most of which I don’t understand – fill my mind about the stone. All the way from what type of stone it is, to its exact temperature in some weird temperature scale system, and even something called its density and mass.
I quickly take the needle away from the rock with a gasp before backing up into the wall at the overload of information.
What the hell…
Several seconds pass as I take deep breaths before I return my focus to the needle and have it spread out into a fog again. After that, I carefully move the fog to touch the same rock, only to get a lot less information about it than before.
I let out a sigh of relief and take the aura away.
Out of curiosity, I attempt to create a bolt of Wrath lightning while the aura is out, only for nothing to happen.
Hmm…
I push the aura back into my body, thereby canceling the skill before I try creating a bolt of Wrath lightning again and quickly find it building up on my palm.
Looks like I don’t actually consume the Wrath when using my aura, but at the same time, I can’t use any of it while using the aura.
Well, putting the new skill aside, I push myself off of the wall to approach the water.
I should drink some water before going back out for more EXP.
At least the monsters should be easier to deal with now that I’m level 20.

The New Earth Alliance Headquarters
Year 819 | Month 2 | Day 16
“We’ve received word from general Vargas,” one of the two councilors beside the Chairman of the NEA announces to the courtroom full of military officers and media representatives, “the adventurers are acting just as we were told they would and are taking on the monster slaying jobs.”
This declaration sets off a wave of whispered conversations throughout the room, but they all cut off once the Chairman raises his hand with a look towards the media’s side of the room.
“This is only the first part of our plan. Now that we’ve got the monsters held at bay by the adventurers, we can focus on reaffirming our foothold in the continent of Liathtria, while also blocking off the Steel Republic’s access to the World Tree Vein,” the Chairman says, following which the media immediately begin marking down his words onto their paper notes and laptops. “However, as many of you already know, the locals of the plane have proven to be stronger than we first thought and are fighting back against us, slowly retaking several of the lands that we have already managed to capture through their prior consumption of the World Tree Sap.”
The Chairman pauses for a second as he turns to look at the military officers and locks his gaze onto the former high general before continuing, “Therefore, we will also be sending generals Robert Fellhart and Delia Hart with a total of twenty thousand men each to attack the local’s royal army.”
The man says this with a calm and proud expression, but despite that, Robert shivers slightly from the look in his gaze.
‘So this is my only chance to regain my status as a High General…’ he thinks to himself while outwardly smiling with a confident look on his face. ‘Which means I better not waste it.’
After seeing the look on the former high general’s face, the Chairman turns his gaze to a heavyset woman sitting a few seats down from Robert. She has on the same armor as the man except fit for a woman instead, with short brown hair, and vibrant green eyes that are currently narrowed in thought.
‘Hmm, if Fellhart fails to outperform her, then Delia might just make a good replacement for his position,’ the Chairman thinks before turning back to the media and stating, “That is all for today’s announcements.” He then presses the button to seal off the various sections of the court before turning around and leaving the courtroom.
At the same time, in the military section of the courtroom, high general Archer Faust approaches the former high general and quietly asks as the other officers are leaving the room, “Did you manage to find the Sins that got away?”
A dark look immediately replaces the calm and confident one that was just on Robert’s face as he says, “No. Not even after traveling throughout the entire nation with the crystal.”
Archer’s eyes widen in surprise at that before he grimaces and says, “Which means the Sins are likely within a different nation’s borders right now. But…”
“Yes,” Robert says with a frown, “with this new deployment, I won’t be able to search for the Sins.”
“So why would-” the high general cuts himself off before finishing as a look of realization comes across his face.
“Because this is likely my only chance at regaining my position,” Robert says while turning around to face the exit of the court. “Because even if I managed to bring back the Sins, I still wouldn’t get my position back with it. Not with how the Chairman works.”
Archer grits his teeth at that before following Robert out of the room without a word.
‘And to make matters worse,’ Robert thinks as he walks, ‘I have to take that damn crystal with me to the other plane, just to make sure that conniving bastard doesn’t mess with it somehow while I’m gone.’

Well, there won't be as many soon enough. And especially not once she gets out of the forest, which won't be too far off. Generally, the point of it is to have the ongoings outside of the forest shown while she's still alone.

I kinda wish all of them were included between arcs instead of during or not at all. Course this is just my opinion so feel free to ignore it. I'm the kind of person that prefers to learn about the world through the MCs eyes most of the time.
