BTS GLEE 04X02???

What's the behind the scenes info that I should know before watching?

Comments

This episode features the first and only Brittany voiceover on the show. This is the second Britney Spears tribute, the first being Britney/Brittany. * Britney Spears and The Beatles are the only artists/band to have two tribute episodes on Glee. Opposite to the Britney tributes, The Beatles tribute episodes aired back-to-back, being the first and second episodes of Season Five. * Just like Britney/Brittany, this episode is the second of its season. * Both episodes include Brittany singing a solo (I'm A Slave 4 U, Hold It Against Me, and Gimme More), Rachel singing a solo (Baby One More Time, and Oops!... I Did It Again), Artie singing (Stronger and Boys/Boyfriend), a same gender duet (Me Against the Music, Boys/Boyfriend), and a group number with Brittany on Female Lead (Toxic and Gimme More) * Both episodes also include at least one song not by Spears (The Only Exception, Boyfriend, and Crazy). * Both episodes reference Chris Crocker's (who is now known as Cara Cunningham) "Leave Britney Alone!" video. (If you don’t know what that video is, here’s the link for it: https://youtu.be/78iC82avjlo?si=tBOoynP0NYD8wYXl ; the original was in color, but this was the only copy I could find) * Both episodes contain a Britney song that has ellipsis in the title. They also both contain a song in which the word you is substituted with 'U’. * This is the first episode to air exactly a year after an episode from the previous season. This episode aired on September 20, 2012 while The Purple Piano Project, aired on September 20, 2011. * Tina wears the dress she wore during You Can't Stop the Beat again. As of this episode, Glee has sung at least one song from each of Britney Spears' studio albums released at the time when the episode aired, and one song from one of her compilations. Every member of New Directions present in the episode sings a solo. This is the first tribute episode in which Santana doesn't sing. This is the only episode in which Cassandra appears but doesn't sing. MISTAKES: * Kurt says that a video which was uploaded to YouTube ended Cassandra July's career ten years ago. However, YouTube was launched in 2005, seven years prior to this episode. * In The Spanish Teacher, Sue tells Becky that she is a better speller than Brittany. However, in Britney 2.0, Becky is shown to misspell her name as "Bocky" on a test, whereas Brittany spells her own name correctly on the same test. * In Comeback, when Rachel is angry at Brittany for taking all the credit for her trending outfits, Brittany tells Rachel "I'm going to give you some tough love right now" and tells her off. However, in Britney 2.0, she seems to have never heard of the term "tough love" and even says "tough love feels a lot like mean." * In Dream On, Puck writes down that his biggest dream is to have a threesome, implying he has not done so prior. However, in Britney 2.0, he reveals to Jake that his first threesome was at age 7. * Potential Explanation: Puck lied, or wasn't being serious. During “Womanizer”, orange liquid flows from the volcano that Jake and the Cheerio are working on, but when Marley joins the rest of the girls, the volcano is seen with nothing flowing from it. During “3”, Sam can be heard singing in the beginning of the song, even though his lips don't move.

This episode is quite different from the first Britney episode. It focuses more on her public image at the time and even recreates the infamous paparazzi scene from 2007 with Brittney in the hallway with Jacob Ben Israel. Britney Spears’s response to this episode was a tweet that said “Fuck Glee”.😬 This is Brittney’s most heavy episode song wise with one each of a solo, duet, and group number. While filming Opps I did it again, the actor for Brody was very hesitant to put his hands on Lea in the way that the number required, and Lea had to keep telling him to touch her. Below is a short BTS clip of the episode. https://youtu.be/mLbDLmsHaT0?si=rI49vX7P3tyT_xJS
