Eric Stoltz is one of the names present in Sue's black book of booty calls. Stoltz is one of the directors of the show. This is the only episode in this season to not have a performance in the auditorium. Rachel says that she "hasn't been this nervous about a vote since Lambert versus Allen" referring to American Idol. Adam Lambert would go on to play Elliot "Starchild" Gilbert in season 5 of the show.

A couple of flukes to note: despite Brittany being Santanas girlfriend, she had no part in this episode. Not even one line. (2) Rachel sings the duel lead on I Kissed A Girl even though she and Santana are not really close and she has no other involvement in the storyline. A good girl-supporting-girl moment but was definitely random. (3) Despite being Santanas episode, she has no solo. The underlying storyline about her Abuala disowning her was inspired by one of the writers own experience. Which is why it feels the most genuine. Finally, Kurt and Blaine filming I Kissed A Girl was improvised by Chris and Darren. They do this a lot going forward.
