GLEE REWATCH 03X01

Comments

I definitely think that if you choose to stop with episodes after season 3, you should go back to doing more song reactions, especially since now none of the numbers are spoilers! Your breakdowns and reactions of the songs was what drew me in to your content in the first place, and there's TONS you could do to still have Glee content without having to do a rewatch of the show as a whole.

The way you didn’t notice the Cheerios pouring fire starter on the piano when they danced around it in a circle lol

Aaron williams

I’ve always noticed that! It’s not the last time a Chris fall is seen.😂

Quinn’s skank phase is so interesting to me. She has been dealing with post-pardon for a while now and I really like how the writers didn’t make her break like this immediately in s2. It took some time to build and feelings that she had been ignoring or unaware of finally came out. From my understanding of PPD, it was a pretty realistic depiction of what mothers, teens especially, who gave up their kids go through. I think Harmony’s necklace being a copy of Rachel’s was done on purpose. To what you said Audrey, Lindsey’s glee character was always a Rachel reflection and it was another way to show how similar they are. Also a bit of a fluke: it’s in character for Kurt and Rachel to know that Juliard doesn’t do MT.🤔 Here’s to the start of Finn being a jealous asshole to Blaine!

This episode always brings up a lot of emotions for me. I was set on being an actor since 8th grade, and somewhere from junior year to now (21), I lost my confidence and ambition for acting due to COVID, depression, and constantly second-guessing myself (some of this was also because my high school theatre director). Because of that, the scene with Rachel and Kurt in the car always hits me hard because even seeing the talent in my own high school I didn't feel like I was good enough then, and I still don't feel like I'm good enough now seeing all the talent out there. Hairspray was my freshman year show and I never forget singing "you cant stop the beat" during those shows. I hope to get my confidence back someday and find my passion again. Overall this is a great episode though!!

In watching this episode I suddenly came up with a good storyline for Lindsey to do so that she could have won a bigger part in the show. She could have been a precocious freshman who thought she was better than everyone. She starts out in the glee club, but she ends up leaving because she doesn't feel appreciate since she doesn't get all the solos. She joins another glee club (not vocal adrenaline since that's for Unique's storyline) but then gets humbled by losing to the New Directions. Just an idea that would have allowed for a better character arc than what they gave her. And that way they could have had two Rachel characters in one season.

If you’re not sticking with Glee please check out Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies it’s really good and there’s only 1 season

This episode was never one of my favorites, for whatever reason. I feel like the pacing was weird. But, I know that some episodes just exist to mostly set things up and set the tone. As a season opener it does that. I do like Rachel and Kurt getting that reality check over just how much talent will be out there in the field they're striving to get into. A lot of talent and a lot of competition. Which leads to a really cute moment between them, also 😭 I love friendships that pick each other up and motivate them

Jennifer Lawrence

I've watched the show i think like 5 times but this is the first time i saw that Kurt falls in the end of the last number! Did enyone notice it too?

AGNES

Harmony says she's the gerber baby but, wouldn't the real one be like over 90 years old? Haha

Alex Foster

The Cheerios pour the gasoline towards the end of the number. It’s when they’re circling the piano.
