could have been personal reasons; he was on the Fearless, Speak Now, and Red tours. If you check her Wikipedia page, there are links to tours and dates. A LOT of dates. Could be he just wanted to settle down. I looked him up back around 2018, and he was teaching. I listened to an interview with Caitlin Evanson, the violinist. She left because Taylor wasn't using violin on 1989; and she has stayed in contact with Mickelson (they both live in Nashville). She's working with other artists (studio musician, touring violinist, and vocalist.) She did a couple songs with Tommy Marz a couple years ago as a vocalist.

2025-04-10 10:19:57 +0000 UTCFunny thing about Grant Mickelson (Black spiky hair guy) is that he toured with Lady Antebellum before he joined Taylor. He's very much a country guitarist. He started teaching in Nashville after Red Tour; not sure what he's doing now.

You are so right about the emotion that she puts in in the early days of music, but even just now like she has always said that music was a lifeline to her(that was specifically said when talking about TTPD) and like her personal journal so everything that she writes is everything that she feels even if it is in those fictional songs like in folkmore. That’s why I love her music so much because you can feel the emotion all throughout her songs and and it really feels like she’s speaking to you in a way. She literally has a song for every single thing that you’re feeling.
