Ironically Becky is still fitting as a swiftie lmao

Georgi

As in relation to the teeth I’m pretty sure she’s wearing Invisalign. I just don’t think they were as good back then. lol.

Nikki Badgett

Was not expecting to get so emotional during you need to calm down 😭 more relevant than ever ❤️‍🩹

Brianna

That meme is fucking hilarious. "Becky Swift" is your Suzuki's destined name, Audrey! Fantastic reaction, by the way. Always so genuine and vulnerable in your reactions.

MeideBison

so sad we didnt get a piano version of it on red tv

Cody

I agree and if you combine it with the verse before that she searches for his dark side it follows with the self sabotage type of thing looking for a problem or creating it by cutting off your nose now you hate what you look like.

Cody

i have just got to let you know i have been here for nearly a year and you have manged to reignite my love for Taylor as i listened to her when i was younger about the time that 1989 came out and as i got older i just turned to a different style of music but after joining this Patreon i'm now in love with Taylor once again to where my music list has grown so much i now had about 89 Taylor Swift songs in my 2025 playlist i have at least on song from every album but reputation {waiting for the Taylors Verson before i listen to that} But i have to say that my top 3 albums on repeat at the moment are lover, ttpd and Red i'm obsessed with them to the point i blast them on my tv or speaker or in my bluetooth stereo headphones fully up it drives my siblings bonkers{ insert a pair of rolling eyes here} the song that started my love for her as a child was Blank Space but this time around it was Lavender haze that caught my attention like Audrey i love a good song with a driving bass. Still to this day one of my fave Taylor lyric would have to be "Darling I'm a nightmare dressed like a day dream so fucking good although after hearing TPPD i think my fave is "without ever touching his skin how can i be guilty as sin?" as i have been in a similar situation as what i think the song depicts.

I came here to say this... the car name, was meant to be!

The original phrase that Taylor riffs on is “cut off your nose despite your face” which is like saying you’re getting rid of your nose because you don’t like it even though your face as a whole was perfectly fine and now you’ve ruined it just because you didn’t like this one thing. So the original phrase is saying you’re so focused on attacking the small things you sabotage the bigger picture. In Taylor’s case she changes it to “I cut off my nose just to spite my face and I hate my reflection for years and years” which implies that she self sabotages on purpose because she can’t handle the idea that everything is going well, but then she hates the outcome, even though she’s the one that did it. I think you actually got pretty close to the meaning by reasoning it out but thought the additional context might help!

Cut off one’s nose to spite one’s face means to hurt oneself in the course of trying to hurt another.

Wait until you revisit the original version of 'Holy Ground'. I like this one much better!

she's also something of an historian; cutting off the nose was an actual classical world/ medieval punishment, mostly used on women. It rendered them permanently disfigured, left them shunned, marking them to everyone they met; and also killed their sense of smell (which not only affects relationships, but also health, because you only know food goes bad by the smell. . . .) It's one more reason why in the US the laws specifically outlawed "cruel and unusual punishments" for crimes. It was a pretty common phrase when I was growing up to refer to taking an action whose unintended consequences are worse for you than anyone else. Taylor added the bit about hating your reflection; she likes to take common phrases and change them a bit.

Hahaha! 😂 ok THIS is my favorite comment!

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

Don't change the name of your car -- instead look up the meme "it's Becky" as it relates to Taylor 😉👏🏻❤️

Robert Thompson

the lyric in The Archer that says "And I cut off my nose just to spite my face, Then hate my reflection for years and years" is a little nod to the fact that she struggled with a ed and her own self worth for years and years. but also the other meaning of indulging in the self harm that you do to yourself and thats what cutting off your nose means

Legality of her old music in 2019: she couldn't rerecord or film for broadcast/streaming the old music at that time. She was under a contract that had a specific time limit (5 years from original release? maybe 3 years from leaving the label ?). Probably why she didn't start with Reputation; hadn't been enough time. Also why the City of Lover concert film didn't include any older music; she performed it, but couldn't include it. She got a request for LWYMMD from a British murder show, and she had her brother Austin sing a really spooky version of the song (produced by Jack Antonoff -- keep it all in the family).

Robert Thompson

She did a cover song because it is a requirement of the Live Lounge. The previous song (from the 1989 release Live Lounge) was Vance Joy's Riptide. Every artist doing the Live Lounge has to do a cover. Several of them have done Taylor songs . . . .

She's a country girl at heart; as at home on a farm (her friend, Gigi Haddad has one in Pennsylvania) as in the city. So, some things to consider, maybe you'll think of them later (I'm still in the opening interview). hmmm. I don't know so much about singing (I actually can't carry a tune in a payloader, let alone a measly bucket). but . . . . My mind works so totally different than yours. I don't blame that on age (mid 60's for me) or education (degrees in English, History, Library Science); you just think differently. I think in timelines. She isn't gushing about her love for NYC because she wasn't into nature. A lot of her vacations with friends over the years are to country / bucolic locations all over the world. Sometimes with her boyfriends, sometimes others (like Selena, or the Haim sisters.) She's just a very social person, and she's discussing the city she lives in (in her 85+ million dollar condo). She has homes in LA as well (ok, Beverly Hills), a quiet part of the Rhode Island coast, Nashville, and London. What brought out folklore, Evermore and the whole "live in nature" phase was the PANDEMIC. When you were at risk of catching a disease that could kill your mother (due to her chemo for her cancer and that brain tumor). That album was only written because SHE CANCELED HER TOUR. There would have been a Loverfest tour in 2020, and she rescheduled it for the ticket holders to 2021 --- and then had to cancel it again. So, 2020 (lockdowns) gave folklore, her Long Pond documentary (and the follow on writing sessions leading to )Evermore (and Big Red Machines' Renegade --she totally wrote the lyrics for that). All in the time a tour would have taken. 2021 dropped her first two rerecords, and ended with Midnights. 2022 was the start of Eras tour; during which she dropped two more rerecords, and TTPD. Just occurred to me -- maybe you're trying to forget COVID? Whether she was ever in real life a functioning alcoholic or not, she's a total workaholic. Whether she's the best, or not doesn't matter --- that is all opinion. She's warm, personable, super talented, and even relatable to an old nerd like me.

Robert Thompson

Love this reaction. I am very excited to see you get into the mashups. They were so fun and it was so impressive to see Taylor weave together songs. The archer is a song that always gets me it speaks to my inner anxieties.

Welcome to the swiftie club 💜🩷

I loved this live lounge performance. The Phil Collins cover & Holy Ground reworked, loved them.

“HONEY!!! IM A SWIFTIE!!!!” 😂Girl, you’ve been a swiftie! You asked a question, and I wanted to answer it in this comment, but I DID smoke a lil doobie before I watched this reaction and forgot what your question was…… 🤷🏼‍♀️😂

Kenz

1. An oyster card is the card you can use to pay for public transport in London, you load it with money and then pay as you go 2. I think it’s a Live Lounge thing to do a cover song as part of your set so I think everyone who goes on there does that!
