I mean yes, Rachel is the main character so more songs/screen time is expected. But there definitely was some Rachel/Lea bias. She didn’t need almost 50 solos while other core characters only had 6. (For some of those 50, the storyline/episode didn’t really need it either.) There are even moments where Rachel isn’t part of the plot but is included for no reason. Like her singing in I Kissed A Girl with Santana. There needed to be little more of a balance. As more Mercedes, we all agree that she was underutilized! While Rachel has a point about earning respect based on talent and not demands, she failed to see that that is what Mercedes has been doing since day 1. She’s more than proven her talent for almost 2 years at this point and still is very underused in competitions. And the moments she did stand up for herself, that only lasted for that one episode and the old habits come back by the next one. That’s why the Troubletones storyline is so loved, because her wanting to be noticed finally stuck to some extent. Side note; anyone think that Mercedes suddenly giving the final number to Rachel last minute was strange? She literally spent the whole episode wanting it and now she’s fine with giving it up? Also I was wrong in my BTS. We see Terri in one more episode before she’s gone until the shows end. Funeral I believe. And one thing I just remembered; where were the glee kids parents? They should’ve bought tickets. It would’ve been a great way to meet some more adult characters.

2025-03-13 19:24:51 +0000 UTCIt’s back!!!! Yay!!!! I definitely missed the energy at the end! 1: I didn’t realize “Turning Tables” was this episode. That song ALWAYS makes me tear up, and thanks to my vocal lessons, as a male, I can hit those notes with power and authority. Gwyneth did an AMAZING job with it! 2: Forget Mercedes Jones, Amber Riley brought us to CHURCH and back!!! Like, WHOA!!!! I have read somewhere that most of her songs are basically done live, so the reactions of her singing are genuine! 3: Sunshine’s cover of “All By Myself”, Phe. Nom. En. Al!!! Like, I didn’t think I could get chills from a screen, but I did. Overall, epic episode. Great reaction(As always). Looking forward to next week.
