FRIENDS 03X09 WATCH PARTY

Comments

I really don't like competition either! Never have. Never played competitive sports.

Eating lots of food lol. My parents and I exchange hosting duties every year. We also usually end up seeing the latest Disney film since they pretty much release one on Thanksgiving every year.

So I live in England and we don't do Thanksgiving. However, every August on my mum's birthday we do an annual bowls game with the entire family and yes there is a cup but it a proper silver cup. It can get competitive especially with my brother's and cousins ( which is very funny to watch) I won last year but I wanted my cousin to win as she not won one yet. I did play properly as I wanted her to actually win, and it was looking that way and then she rolled her ball and it knocked both of mine closer to the Jack! Honestly it was quite funny but equally I was like ' why!you were winning lmao! ' But maybe next year for her! Haha ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜˜โค๏ธ

Thanksgiving here in Ontario feels a lot more lowkey than people in the US seem to make it, or at least it's like that for me. My family doesn't do a whole lot. My mom makes the turkey dinner, we eat, and that's.. kind of it? Sometimes we'll do a family game of Mario Party or Mario Kart, but it's really not much of anything for us. We just call it Turkey Day more often than Thanksgiving.

Since you started singing the music like that, it just got desynchronized. It was right in every other episode. Why did u change? Who told you it wasnโ€™t in synch?๐Ÿ˜…

I played a few sports and did music competitions growing up. But was never overly competitive. Ive always been ok with losing, I was always taught to be aware there was a chance I wouldn't win and that was OK. We dont have thanksgiving in northern ireland. But my friends step mum is american and the last few years I've been invited to thanksgiving and really enjoyed it. We usually play scrabble or chess and their dad plays guitar and we all sing songs and get drunk as is the custom on Irish/British holidays ๐Ÿคฃ

This is one of the better thanksgiving episodes

When I was growing up, we lived far away from most of our larger family. My mom moved across the country from Utah to NYC when she was 18, and never moved back, and the cost of traveling for us was too much. Plus, my mom and dad split when I was little, so it was always a toss-up of which home I'd be in for Thanksgiving. Because of this, my mom started a kind of "strays" Thanksgiving, where we'd open our house to whoever didn't have somewhere to go. It was a lot of fun, and each person usually would bring a dish to share (not required, we made a ton anyways lol), but it was fun to get a piece of their culture and taste others' food. Also, my mom was a singer, so many of the guests ended up being musicians, so it would turn into a jam session after dinner. Always a good time, I have very fond memories of this, and sometimes we'd have 20-30+ people show up lol. When I was a teenager, we did end up going to Utah and having a more traditional Thanksgiving with the larger family. I was honestly, super disappointed.. I was like, "people watch football on thanksgiving???" lol

lol when you said you were too slow, you were perfect and the rest was too fast lol

I love this episode! Growing up in Iceland we didn't really celebrate Thanksgiving and it isn't a National Holiday. But for a few years I did go to a potluck at my church, where everyone brought a side dish, dessert or drinks (we usually brought sweet potatoes) and the church provided the turkey. There was also a tradition where we wrote on a piece of paper what we were thankful for. It hasn't been held since before Covid and I honestly don't know why. It was very chill and cozy. Fun facts: The uncut DVD version of this episode has a different ending. Monica and Ross decide to toss the Geller Cup down the garbage chute. Phoebe is at the bottom getting it for Monica, but as she's about to leave, Ross walks in to take it for himself. You can see it here: https://youtu.be/IbxnWYDPvHs. Also, a little dramatic but fun story is that Susanna Midnight/Voltaire, the actress who plays Margha aka the dutch woman, was actually American but the crew did not know because she spoke with an accent for the audition. When they found out they were shocked. And I've mentioned this before but Matthew's weight fluctuated throughout the course of the show because of his substance abuse. In S3 he is visibly VERY thin and then later on he's a bit heavier. He said that when he was doing drugs he lost weight and when he was drinking he gained weight. There is also a period (between S3-6 or so) where he legimately didn't remember anything from filming.

I have two brothers and Iโ€™m the only girl it gets competitive loll๐Ÿ˜‚ but Monica and Ross are something else๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

I grew up Jehovah's witness so we never celebrated it going up. Neither me my siblings or my dad are Jehovah Witnesses anymore but my mom still is. But even now we don't have any special things we do.

Azure Rickers

We don't do anything special for Thanksgiving but maybe that's because we're french... ๐Ÿ˜…
