GLEE 02X15 REWATCH PARTY

Comments

I wish they would’ve done do ya think I’m sexy. I listen to it a lot and melt. Darren Criss is so 🤤🥵

Looking back on this episode, it makes me wonder if Mark was already compiling his “collection” or if this was before. And if he was already doing what he was doing, did someone find out and put that storyline in the episode as a way of telling Mark “hey, I know what you’re doing”. I am not in any way making excuses or condoning what Mark did, but I am sad for him making the decision to unalive himself. I just wish he would have gotten help rather than doing what he did. I think it’s on MAX, but there’s a documentary about Glee and how people think the show was cursed because of how many people that worked on the show have passed away. It’s called The Price of Glee. You should definitely react to it so you can get an idea of how bad it really was.

Animal is one of my fave neon trees songs I used to love that bad so much when I was a young teenager

Such a great episode! The Kurt and Burt scene is one of the most powerful in the whole show and so ahead of its time. You don’t see that kind of thing in tv now and that was in 2011! And I love Chris’s acting during it! So awkward yet so emotional. I wonder if this episode got submitted to the Emmys for Nayas performance because at definitely worthy of it. Surprised she didn’t get even a nom. With the Quinn theory, I think your idea makes a little more sense because it’s unsure if she even has a relationship with her dad at this point. But she could still be chasing that family value thing because it was instilled into her growing up. This is most certainly the start of Quinn developing post-pardon depression and I think it was done in pretty smart and realistic way that built over time when one thinks their past it.

What Annie (and you) said about Quinn is absolutely on the nose. She absolutely is trying to fit a certain image, and I think she's trying to validate her self esteem with men because the man in her life (her dad) who was supposed to love her unconditionally, doesn't. I have always believed that it's not just the status/image thing, but a deep rooted need to be loved because we've seen how crappy her home life was in season one with her parents who didn't seem to care beyond the surface stuff. In 2x18 when we learn about her childhood even more, it's even more obvious how much looks and status has been pivotal in her life. In the first season alone, she went through a LOT, and god forbid she get any kind of therapy. It's great that she has a roof over her head with her mom, but I seriously doubt that that relationship is full of depth. She likely has PPD/PTSD/CPTSD (as mentioned) and you can see just how much all of that messes with her as the seasons progress, even as far as season 5. To the episode itself, the whole stuff with the sex tape for Puck and Lauren aged SO poorly given what Mark Salling did so that always gives me the ick. That aside, I still can't watch the episode without crying. I remember when it came out, me being a scared 14 year old girl who realized she was in love with her best friend of 10 years. I used to listen to this version of Landslide on my MP3 player at night and just cry because it struck something inside and I wasn't out yet. Loving my friend bit me in the ass, ultimately, because she loved me too but I didn't want to put her in a situation where we were together because her parents were strict Christians who didn't believe homosexuality was okay. She ended up cutting me off when we were 15 and we didn't speak again until we were 20, and even now we only talk maybe once a year. I understood how Santana felt because that kind of realization in your life is TERRIFYING. Every what-if crosses through your mind. My other side tangent is I hate how they make Emma being a virgin a joke a lot, when it's completely valid to abstain for whatever reason. My friends and I are in our late twenties, and majority of them are virgins still. I wish it didn't have a weird stigma attached!

I’m so sorry you lost your mom. Sending big hugs your way today.

It’s almost like Brittany is much smarter than what she puts out there… Which we find out later when we find out that she’s actually a genius

Winning Prom Queen with the “perfect” Prom King is definitely part of Quinn’s checklist of ways to win her parents approval. But unfortunately it would be just one more thing they would be able to parade her around in front of all their fake friends like a trophy they won from a dog show. As far as Santana goes, I do think she is being manipulative, but to herself. She’s been giving herself excuses as to why what she is doing with Brittany is ok and then projecting them onto Brittany so she doesn’t have to face her feelings. Brittany does have free will and would not continue hooking up with Santana if she was not 100% okay with it. She initially was okay with letting Santana call the shots but now that can only last so long, and being with Artie who is open and honest about his feelings towards her and is proud to with her just makes her want that with Santana. After Santana pours her heart out to her, I do think that Britt is right in not breaking up with Artie immediately to be with Santana. Brittany and Santana both deserve to be loved out loud and not hidden away and Santana isn’t ready to for that and Brittany knows that. She is the foremost expert in the field of Santana Lopez.

Oh yeah! The Adele mashup we didn’t ask for, but definitely needed and done so well! Especially Finn’s take on it as well. “Acting, acting, acting. Acting, acting, acting. Open hand slap to the face!” https://youtu.be/BIRKr0iqzr0?feature=shared

Thanks a lot for making me cry today. My mother would’ve been 55 today, (I lost her back in 2005), and her favorite song was “Landslide”. But, it was a necessary cry, so thank you for that.

One of my favorite episodes. We are finally getting Santana's storyline of coming to terms with her sexuality. Naya portraying Santana with such vulnerability especially with Brittany while also having this tough exterior just made me fall in love with Santana as a character. This storyline of Santana coming to terms with her sexuality also leads to my favorite Glee cover "Rumour Has It/Someone Like You"
