This is just my thoughts, so I could be wrong, but I don't think Regina taking that drink was to prove that she's bad. It was to prove that she trusts them enough to take something they give her. I've heard of gangs doing that sometimes with new initiates, where they have to be willing to let their guards down enough to drink, and also prove that they aren't suspicious of the other members. I noticed that in the scene where Regina drank, Mal was wearing an old style hat that you commented on. Her hat, and her outfit, looked very "Al Capone," and I doubt it was a coincidence she was dressed sort of like a 1950's gangster. Later in the car, when the test was for Regina not to save Mal and the others from the train, I don't think that they were just supposed to sit there and die. I think they were bluffing. If Regina hadn't saved them, Mal would have used her powers to get them out of it. It was meant to see if Regina was hard-hearted enough to save only herself and let them get out of it themselves. I'd forgotten how good this season is.

Obviously you're not saying you'll do what you're doing with Glee and rewatch it with us, but I'm just curious if you'll want to watch it again on your own.
