This episode contains two of the three weddings that succeeded on their first try (Carole and Burt, and Sue with herself); the 3rd is Santana and Brittany in Season 6. - Rachel and Finn were going to get married in Season 3 but it got indefinitely postponed; - Kurt and Blaine were engaged and were planning their wedding but then broke up, so their double wedding with Brittana in Season 6 was their second attempt; - Emma and Ken were going to get married in Season 1 but called it off at the wedding; - and Emma ran away from her first wedding attempt with Will. - Emma and Carl did get married, but they got eloped off-screen in Vegas so it's unclear whether they had an official "wedding" per se. And they later get an annulment. Ironically, all 3 successful first wedding attempts happen on the eighth episode of their respected seasons (Carole/Burt and Sue/Sue in S02E08, and Brittana in S06E08).

(Which you can kind of see from the way they are dancing in the background)

While the original version of Marry You by Bruno Mars made only number 85 in the Billboard Charts, the Glee version reached number 32. This is the last physical appearance of Jean Sylvester, as she would pass away in Funeral. After Burt and Carole walk down the aisle at the wedding, Carole hands her flowers to Rachel. Usually, the person who gets the flowers is the one who gets married next. The same situation happens in I Do, when Rachel again catches the flowers. Ironically, Rachel and Finn were poised to be married in Season 3, but call off the wedding after Quinn's car accident.

2025-01-05 17:43:33 +0000 UTCIn the final scene when Kurt leaves McKinley, he is wearing a red sweater, the same sweater he wears in Born in This Way when he returns. So a cute wardrobe detail. Also when he announces his leaving, Will offers him a sectionals solo which of course cant happen, but we never hear that offer again. During the wedding, everyone sings in Marry You except for Kurt and Mercedes. It’s something I always noticed because it made no sense for Kurt not to sing given that he put the wedding together and his dad is the groom. Finally, I have always thought that Kurt’s wedding suit seemed a bit big on him and given how much he loves clothes, it’s a detail that always stood out to me and never made sense.

They talked about it on the podcast and Jenna was shocked that it wasn’t really Artie. At the wedding reception when Finn surprises everyone with the number, look at Burt’s face when he gets up to join them. He genuinely seemed like he’s gonna cry looking at Finn and Kurt and it was so precious 🥹 Btw the cast had Tequila that Romy Rosemont (Finn’s mom) had brought since it was her first episode with the whole cast, so they were all tipsy while dancing and swaying 😂 and they said it probably inspired the blame it on the alcohol episode.
