I wish I liked this version more than I do. Out of all Disney movies Lion King is probably the one I have the most nostalgia for and have seen the most times. So I have a hard time not comparing the two or noticing every change, especially in the lyrics. But, I'm willing to give it another chance lol. Maybe I can better separate the two movies now.

2024-12-03 04:09:37 +0000 UTCI absolutely LOVE Seth Rogan and, in my opinion, he and Billy Eichner were the smartest casting choices of the entire movie. If nothing else, I feel like they really handled Timon and Pumba with a lot of love and care, paying homage to the original while making it their own. If you haven’t seen Neighbors with Seth Rogan and Zac Efron, I definitely recommend. That movie kills me every time I watch it 😂😂

2024-12-02 13:22:15 +0000 UTCI think there would have been a literal riot if they hadn't brought back James Earl Jones for Mufasa lol. This movie makes me even more emotional now that he's gone. The cub at the end is SImba's daughter Kiara (though in the books she has an older brother). Kiara's story is in The Lion King 2 (animated movie) and I definitely recommend it, it's adorable! And if you want to learn more about Timon's backstory and how he and Pumba met then you should check out The Lion King 1 1/2. Here are some of the voices, I left out the ones you already knew and two of the Hyenas because Goggle was being confusing with the cast list. Grown up Simba - Donald Glover Young Simba - JD McCrary Young Nala - Shahadi Wright Joseph Scar - Chiwetel Ejiofor Pumba - Seth Rogen Timon - Billy Eichner Sarabi (Simba's mom) - Alfre Woodard Rafiki (the baboon) - John Kani Zazu - John Oliver Shenzi (female hyena) - Florence Kasumba (this hyena was voice by Whoopi Goldberg in the animated film) Phil LaMarr was also a voice in this movie, he voiced a few of the animals. I am a HUGE fan of his!

The actress who voices young 'Nala' is Shahadi Wright Joseph. The first hyena voice you hear, the character's name is 'Kamari' voiced by Keegan-Michael Key; the second one is named 'Banzai' voiced by Eric André. 'Pumbaa' was voiced by Seth Rogen. Donald Glover Aka "Childish Gambino" voiced grown 'Simba'.
