2024-11-01 16:48:50 +0000 UTCJenna and kevin talked about episode 3 saying that during I wanna hold your hand, they were playing a game where if chris made eye contact with someone he would wink and they had to play dead (close their eyes and put their head down). He would wait for the camera to not be on his face to do it. He would be crying then stop when the camera wasn't on him and look for someone to wink at. Diana ( quinn) was caught on camera but she did it very gently and made it look like she was just thinking about the situation happening. Oh also I don't think artie speaks in this episode.

2024-10-31 06:20:11 +0000 UTC2x02 Ryan Murphy said that this episode was generally to showcase Heather's amazing dancing skills but she also took vocal lessons to prepare. She said that for her dancing parts it only took her a day of rehearsal. Heather had actually met Britney Spears a couple of years earlier. She auditioned for a dance contest where she sang, danced and dressed up like Britney, who said that Heather was as amazing. However, when Britney got on the set of Glee she did not recognise Heather. She stated before that she wanted to sing Baby One More Time. However, Lea ended up singing it. Ironically, critics gave her version generally negative reviews (which I am inclined to disagree with). In this episode we learn that Brittany's full name is Brittany Susan Pierce (aka Brittany S. Pierce) and she doesn't like to use it for fear of living in the shadow of Britney Spears. Brittany mentions in S1 that sometimes she "forgets" her middle name, but this could also be a reference to her never admitting it out of the Britney Spears shadow fear. After his suggestion of performing a Britney Spears number is declined by Mr. Schue due to a complaint by Brittany, Kurt sarcastically thanks Brittany, to which Santana answers "Leave Brittany alone" in a reference to Chris Crocker's famous video about Britney Spears. After Rachel changes her look, David Karofsky comments: "Why do the gay guys get the hottest chicks?" Ironically, he and Santana start dating (as each other's beards) later on in the season. At the end of this episode Brittany mentions that next week she'll be doing a musical number by Ke$ha which she ends up doing in episode 2x14. While Rachel is still feeling the effects of the anesthesia at the dentists, she asks "Is this real life?", a reference to the popular 2009 youtube video "David After Dentist". In 1x15, Emma is talking to Will about role models and mentions that Britney Spears and her "shaved head" is a bad role model for the kids. In this episode, however, she talks of how she is a great role model for rebirth and defeating adversity. Will mentions Michael Bolton, who Sue would later say is her daughter's father (which was proven to be false). The pamphlets that Emma is arranging at the beginning of the episode are: "Wow! There's a hair down there!" "I still breastfeed … but how old IS too old?" and "Proper Wiping: As Easy as 1-2-3". 2x03 Sue's "civics lesson" is jam packed with misinformation about who can do what in the public schools with regards to religion. Staff are very restricted. They can not be seen as promoting or restricting any religious expression. Students, on the other hand, have just as much freedom in school as outside school to express their religious beliefs. In this episode, the students (as long as they are not coached to do so by Mr. Shue) can sing any religious/spiritual song they wish, even a blatantly religious one, such as a hymn. Sue is the one breaking the law, not Will. Also, in an earlier episode, Figgins said that the Glee Club was ONLY allowed to sing religious songs. In the scene where Rachel reveals to Finn she does not plan to have sex until the age of 25, both seem to have forgotten she lied to Finn, telling him that she had slept with Jesse in 1x15. However, we see in 2x08 a flashback of Rachel telling Finn the truth, with the time unknown. Kurt's line "I hope our genuflection to the great Spaghetti Monster in the sky doesn't take too long" is a reference to a parodic religion called Pastafarianism that "believes" in a god shaped like a flying spaghetti. Chris Colfer's performance in this episode was submitted for the 2011 Emmy's and ended up winning. To make the imprint of Jesus on the cheese sandwich, production designers used an imprint marker. Food stylist Lisa Barnett made over a hundred grilled sandwiches with the imprint of Jesus on it. By the end of the episode, Finn's sandwich is about 2 to 3 weeks old, yet he still eats it. This episode was originally rumoured to be called Faith but was later renamed to Grilled Cheesus.

2024-10-30 22:34:13 +0000 UTCGrilled Cheesus Chris’s performance in Grilled Cheesus earned him a Golden Globe. He was not expecting to win and described the experience as being blacked out until he got back stage. He was the youngest person ever to win one at the time. (He’s not anymore but still in the top 4.) The kid who played young Kurt during I want to hold your hand resembles Chris so much, that he was brought back to play a young Carson Phillips in Chris’s movie Struck by Lightning. (Watch party idea maybe?) Brittney/Britney Heather said that the snake kept trying to get near her mouth for some reason. Jenna and Kevin described working with Britney as a great but weird experience because she was under the conservative-ship and know one knew at the time. So she would get really excited about a scene and give a ton of (welcomed) ideas but would get pulled away by her team and come back all docile and quiet.
